  • When using Pixellu SmartAlbums 2 for a Mac, sometimes you'll need to switch the wedding album design to a different wedding album company or size. This happens typically when you pre-design the wedding album for the couple and then they are ready to order their book.
This week, I had a couple downsize their chosen wedding album for budgetary reasons and luckily, we had already gone through the entire wedding album design process together. Therefore, all I needed to do was to create a new wedding album in SmartAlbums by Pixellu and copy the old design layout and images into it from the previous design.
We switch from an 11x14 horizontal wedding album to a 10x10 square wedding book in this wedding album design software tutorial.

If you go to the Inspector tab, it will let you adjust there.

Is Smart Albums a purchased software? And it works with all the different labs? I never knew about this. Would it work for other photography besides weddings?

Oh yes. You can even make custom sizes for other projects (I used it for blog post image layouts for a while). HOWEVER, they changed their proofing exporting settings and that part is super limited now. To hard to type here, I might do a video about it. Yes, it’s a paid software and they used to let you buy it and you’re done. Now, like everything, it’s a monthly membership type situation.

@@HeatherMcKay do you use the cloud proofing? If you do, what’s the advantage of that?

No I don’t. I bought the software outright in the early days of it, so I’m annoyed to now pay monthly or per album for that. You know me..... I have a workaround 🤫😉
