Hey! I am reading here a lot of interesting personal histories about how you discover Krita. I love that ❤. Share your own experience and celebrate with us this unique special moment!
Thank you very much Halla and Ramon for the interview! 🎉🎉🎉
Our pleasure! David. I was remembering when we were trying to create the best brushes with Animtim too. Good memories
Long live krita, long live open source.
Viva la krita!
Krita is my art program of choice since Photoshop costs fucking money.
Independent of Krita being free and open source (and those two items are great), Krita is the best painting program. Thank you for making Krita.
This is a deeply understood knowledge. Congrats.
Wonderful interview Ramon. It is always great to hear Halla talk reminisce about the history of Krita. It is such a fun project to work on and see evolve.
Thanks Scott. Yes, I have enjoyed a lot learning details I didn´t know yet.
Thank you Halla🙏💖🌺
🎉🎉🎉🎉 congratulations Krita🎉🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic interview! What a wonderful way to mark Krita's 25th birthday. Thank you Ramon and Halla and the hundreds of Krita contributors. ❤
I gave krita a try 4 years ago as a temporal alternative while i was saving money for my previous drawing program, but after learning i fell in love with krita. Krita was the first software that made me discover and love Open Source software, i discover that drawing was not only fun, but customizing my drawing software with themes and plug-ins was a lot of fun as well, i even got inspired to learn scripting, although im not good at it yet thinking about the possibilities is a huge motivation. Krita has definetly changed my life, and I am so thankful that krita and its community exists, i hope it does for a long time.
Thanks a lot to Halla and every other developer that keeps Krita alive, happy anniversary
Whow learning Scripting is something that i personally haven´t touched. Just a bit with SeEXPR to modify texture from the default bundle included in Krita. I lov themes too and plugins like shortcut composer are a blessing
Krita is such a great example of collaboration. I wish more of the world worked this way. Great interview!
Long life to Krita 🎉
Wonderful interview 👍 Thank you for working on this beautiful piece of software
Hi Raghukamath thanks for being here. you are really humble being the man in charge of KA community page Krita-artists. Org
I loved meeting Halla! I'm very grateful for her efforts and those of many other people who work tirelessly to make Krita better and better! ❤ I abandoned Photoshop more than 6 years ago for Krita and have never regretted it. Congratulations on the anniversary!
Thanks a lot, I would like to see your paintings
Happy birthday to my favorite digital art app Krita and its great team! 🎉
I wish you all the best guys, and for Krita to keep expanding with epic new features as always ❤
Twelve years ago, i got my first tablet. I had no way to pay online, so i started to draw digitally by cracking popular softwares, PS, Sai, Manga Studio(old CSP).
Then i first heard about Krita with Sycra's videos, i was impressed that it was so generous with features and.. it's FREE!! I never knew that something like this could exist back then!!
I adopted it since 2016 and i never had any reason to use the paid drawing apps anymore. I draw on Krita every day(and while watching this video ^^), i'm so happy of the evolution of this incredible software! And i'm always very excited of all the upcoming updates!
Thank you to all the amazing people behind it for creating this free piece of software!! Made by artists for all artists!
Longue vie à Krita!
Happy 25 years Krita! I love Krita Thank you so much for an amazing open source program
Selamat ulang tahun Krita 🎉
Thank you for your hardwork❤
Long live Krita 🌱💚🤍💙
Congrats to all the Krita developers, contributors and community
Great program!!! Thanks to everyone who played a role in its development🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Halla, Ramon, and all the great people that have contributed to the development of Krita over the years!
25 years damn 💪
크리타를 개발해주셔서 감사합니다. 크리타를 이용해주시는 여러분께도 감사드려요. 덕분에 좋은 프로그램 알차게 쓰고 있답니다. 모두들 행복하고 평안하시길 ^^
Thanks to you and have a nice day for being so polite and charm.
Thank you for the stories. Long live Krita.
Massive THANKS to every Krita worker. I love you all.
Krita is just brilliant. I try to donate every one or two years if I can. I really hope other people support Krita too, as every artist can benefit from this amazing software.
Krita is such a great app, especially after using Photoshop for 20 years. It has all the tools and it's bulletproof (Super stable) I rarely get crashes. My only dislike is the speed of the interface. It's very slow when transforming layers and adding some effects. I'm a digital concept artist and Matte painter and speed is the key factor in the film and TV industry. I hope in the future this is improved. I'm still a huge fan of Krita though. Congrats to the team, 25 years is an amazing contribution to the art community.
Be sure you are using the Fast mode in Options docker. I know what are you referring at. And yes! is a field where Krita need to improve. I would be interested in you full feedback maybe you could tell us about your web or your work. Professional people can give a lot of interesting feedback. 20 years with Photoshp, what do you think about the lack of curves in brush editor or Color Selectors by plugin during a lot of years?
@@KritaOrgPainting Thanks, yes I have that option on but its still very slow when working in a large size image 4-8K. For the tools and workflow being very similar as Photoshop I can deal with the speed thing for now. I love the brush engine both in PS and Krita but once I found out I could replicate my PS brush in Krita I fell in love with it. It handles 32 bit float ACES images better than PS which is a big plus. There are some tools that arent in Krita but I can still do what I need to do to get the job done. I'm currently working on 4 matte paintings for a commercial all at 4k 32 bit and Krita hasn't crashed once. Everything works just as well or better than PS, especially when handling LUTs and conversions. I'll be sure to give Krita full credit publically when I can use it on the next Hollywood Blockbust.
@@andych56 What are the features or tools you can not find yet in Krita, only in PS?
@@encapsulatio There’s not really a good denoising plugin which is needed. Ramp and color fill adjustment layers
And some more patch and healing tools. These are part of my workflow I’d like to see in Krita.
Super needed info. Real experiences makes grow Krita. Could you report to krita-artists.org ? There Devs can read and users evaluate the problems too giving solutions. Also you can post images, and links to your work. In Krita you have the filter layers wich creates a layer above that apply a filter or adjustment so if you use that with Filter/Adjust/Color Adjustments Curve then you have curves controlling your pixels to bg. Also you can create Fill layers that can be filled with color, pattern, multigrid, and more options. I hope this helps
For me, personally it would be really useful for conferences and feedback. Maybe we could talk in a videoconf?
Congratulations on 25 years! Long live Krita 🎉❤🎉
Krita is an art program worth backing, we need more competition out there
The entire team, current and former, thank you for all your hard work.
thank you so much for your hard work and support for artists especially in this era in which many are forgetting the humanity of art and the beauty of the process. thanks to every single contributor, developer, thank you to halla!! you are the sweetest people, and after each art software i've spent money on only for them to switch to subscription or absolutely ruin the software with quantity over quality, i'm happy to have krita. please never forget your original vision and stay true to what artists want no matter what may happen in the future. that is all i want. to another 25 years!!
How nice and emotional! Remember we are a team, and users are what drives the development. and support it. If that is strong the community will be strong as rocks. Thanks.
Gracias a todo el equipo de krita, ese programa me ah ayudado mucho a lo largo de mí aprendizaje en el dibujo digital.
Here's to 25 more!
25 years, awesome!
Krita is no1, and there's no doubt about it.
congratulations to everyone on this incredible event! open source code guarantees Krita a long life and endless expansion possibilities
Happy Birthday KRITA 🥳🎉and Massive Kudos to each and every one of the developers and supporters of this MAGNIFICENT software! I first started using KRITA about 6 years ago and have never imagined changing to anything else since. It is simply the best. KRITA rules!! Period. 🤟

Félicitation !!! Longue vie a Krita !!!
Happy 25th anniversary Krita, Thanks to everyone for making that awesome digital painting software.
Happy Birthday, Krita! Many thanks to the developers for their many years of work and for giving this wonderful software to the whole world! Thanks to Krita, I began to draw more often on a graphics tablet and enjoy the process and the result. 🥰 I wish you and the wonderful software prosperity, may this project continue to live and develop. 💖
Thank you so much for an amazing open source program
Thank you Halla and Ramon!
Krita (and Blender) is amongst the things that make me see the world is full of positivity and good souls ! - I love Krita - thanks for making it!
Thank you very much for Krita!!!
Спасибо вам за Вашу работу!!!
Děkuji Vám za Vaší práci.
Thank you Krita, I am very happy to give back to the community.
Thank you so much for 25 years of Krita!
The software always amazes me. My first digital art software was called Psykopaint, and it was a lot of fun learning how to use it. Even with its limitations. When Krita came along I grabbed it up. I can't stop painting and doing crazy photo editing. I have an adorable great niece who loves art. She uses Procreate and is quite good. She intends on giving Krita a try when her dad gets their pc fixed.
Is good to try things and get new ideas for creativity. That is the reason why more and more people is choosing Krita. I could create SOME of these type of brushes with RGBA brushes. Maybe i will try in future.
Thank you
Guys, you do a great job with Krita! ❤
Hey! Thanks Krita team for amazing software!
Such a great piece of software, been using it for almost a decade.
Amazing software thanks krita team
Happy 25 years Krita! I love Krita so much. I used it since 2018. It's my main software for doing professional illustration works. It's a great software :)
Thank you from Poland! ❤
This was such a lovely video. Thank you l if you ❤
Krita hit 25 years of existence! All open source. I've used it off and on for several years. Hehe. It brought the pop-up wheel menu before Adobe did, which Adobe charges extra money to use that wheel. Shalom. :3
Many thanks to Ramón and everyone who made this dream a reality. Krita will always have a special place in my heart.
I didn’t know that this app is 25 years old?
Krita is my favorite illustration program is such a powerful tool and I can make the best brushes on it. I've made a brush to mimic my irl pencil (comparing the feel back and forth) and that helps me have more fun sketching.
I would like to see in action this pencils. Any image in Krita-artists.org?
💗
congratulation krita.
From Bangladesh.
Congratulations 🎉 I'd love to work full-time on a project like Krita
Krita is great! Thank YOU!
Really appreciate the work these guys put in and then just give it out for free !!!
Free in all terms, but remember Krita is driven by the community like Blender. We need your support. Thanks
Wonderful interview, lots of items to learn & make us, Krita users for years very grateful to both...!, again Thank You!!!!!
What a beautiful comment. Thanks to you too
Thank you!!
thank you
Thanks for all Krita! Will Krita get anytime the feature of vectorial brushes and layers like Adobe Fresco?
Maybe, it deppends on demand, available funds and human resources
🤷🍀🍀🍀❤❤❤
Критую и кайфую 🤟
Why is the mike so weird? It's very annoying to listen to. It's like some sort of mike tapping or blowing on it or something.
25 years and still a user interface that sucks. Do yourself a favour, hire a good designer and make a ui from this century, not looking like made for Windows 95, like now. 😘😘😘
Oh ! If yourfeedback is good you can leave a comment in krita-artists.org. Explain there What is a "This Century" design.
krita is amazing, you're full of shit
Hey! May I please ask how come Krita’s social media pages are not being used? (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc) love what y’all are doing!
Because we need more human resources for that. We can not put coders to do that tasks because it takes too much time. more budget we could fund a marketing specialist or community manager.
@@KritaOrgPainting Maybe volunteers could help! We love Krita! Just something to consider!
