Very sharp interview, glad I clicked. Dave comes out hot with both barrels, but O'Reilly doesn't take it personal and stays in the fight.

@@Mr._Sandman I'm not sure why I think it's worth it to explain this to you, but Letterman's CZcams channel tends to release an interview with someone from Dave's show when that person is in the news again for one reason or another.
You know, I think Norm said it, but Dave is great at playing the idiot. But there's something that comes out in this exchange with O'reily: Dave is actually remarkably sharp and quite well-informed. Made for a great back and forth

Bill was never good. He contributed to the massive decline, disunity of U.S. and the disinformation and misinformation that permeates every sphere of U.S. life now.

Dave...you called out these clowns long time ago. And the USA has only gone into looney town.
One of my favorite moments was when Letterman had Rush Limbaugh (the drug addict crisis actor) on his show and Limbaugh made mention of someone's appearance. It was most likely Chelsea Clinton, as he loved doing that on his show, and Letterman, not missing a beat said something like 'Right, because you're the epitome of perfect genes'.

This is a fun, engaging interview. Bill holds his own. It would have been nice had Dave approached left leaning guests the same way, because it's actually fun to watch. And if people would actually listen to it, they'd hear O'Reilly say he doesn't like Cheney, thinks Bush will be remembered as a lower tier president, etc. But they just can't get out of their damn tribal mindsets.
Yeah, Bill seems very moderate here. Which is exactly what we need right now, but instead we have Tucker Carlson and OAN. Shame that radical right wingers (Proud Boys, some Trumpists, etc.) have gained such a platform now. Radicals on both sides are a scourge on this country.

I don't like Bill O'Reilly AT ALL, but I always appreciated that he showed how confident and strong he was to go on this mean guy's show and handle it graciously.
Dave always loved a forum to air his political peeves. O’Reilly was a good shooting-gallery duck when it came to stuff like that, but he gave Dave a run for his money. Bill Clinton was an interesting guest as well for a deep political exchange, and there was a lot less friction due to a common liberal ideology.
Now do Don Lemon and Brian Stelter and Chris Cuomo and Rachel Maddox and...
Dave's right about the "internal promotion" within Fox News as well as the "you're not entertaining."
