There is no justification for ever letting this woman out of prison.
In Australia You Never Know..
All da Best..
She never should have been put into prison in the first place. She belongs in a mental institution for life. This isn't justice; it's fucking disgusting.
They will release her, nuts!
@@amityislandchumVery true...
Unbelievable,smh...
100 stab wounds with 7 different knives then removed her head???? This entity needs to stay locked up forever
Wowwwwwwwww what an unbelievable and ridiculous sentence,16 years,smh....
There's a pic on reddit of her in her front yard and her mums head is on the front lawn
@@Soyuz2578Where exactly on Reddit?
@grzegorzwojtyla7471 I just had I look where I saw it just a few weeks back and it seems as though it's been scrubbed from reddit and all other places. That's annoying
And to think that her mother was alive through 96 of the wounds!
She should never be let out, she is a danger to every person. She's can't be rehabilitated she has shown that month after month and facility after facility.
It sounds horrible but she's almost like a wild animal.
She's not in a rehabilitation facility (aka a psychiatric hospital), so obviously she hasn't been rehabilitated. Australia's courts are clearly completely fucked for sending a severely mentally ill woman to regular prison.
@@amityislandchum I know where she is, what I meant is she should never get parole because she will always be a danger to society.
How and who would feel safe around this woman??
@@amityislandchumI worry they haven’t developed a treatment for her that would adequately address her mental health issues. They talked about all the anti psychotics/medications she would take that didn’t make a difference. Outside of sedating her I don’t know that any psychiatric treatment would help her. But I do agree she needs to be in a psychiatric hospital instead of prison. Potentially for life or some sort of strict supervision for the rest of her life after being institutionalized.
The day she gets out, they need to drop her off at one of the judges who reduced the sentence and tell them they are now responsible for keeping the community safe.
Holy sh*t. Not even one minute in and my jaw dropped hearing this woman casually say she chopped her mum's head off.😮
Same here!!
EXACTLY the same feeling!
I actually audibly gasped. didn't expect that AT ALL!!
Yep, cannot sleep now.
Right?!! Imagine being the 0-0-0 operator and getting that call! That’d be me in counseling for life-and in a new job. 😵
Could be out after just 12 years?
This woman will kill again.
Shame on those judges.
She should go and stay with those judges upon her release....:(
Yeah. Perhaps these judges would melt down when learned that she is living a hell in prison
Criminal sentences in Australia are totally inadequate.
My exact thoughts!
@@JuliaAlexandra180 in Canada, too. Terrible. What were these judges thinking??
I think that's a fantastic idea!! Why in the *ell would they let her back out to harm others!! She's kept harming others while in prison & when moved to new facilities!! Smdh ffs!!
every single photo of that woman makes my skin crawl.
Same here
Me too she's terrifying to look at.
i felt the same, but i always feel this way seeing photo's of these Evil Monsters
I cannot believe that! 😳
Her face doesn't look human. 😮😮😮😮
She walked outside with her mother's head to show the neighbours? Whoever gave her such a light sentence is in denial like her mother. Come on, she was violent, she bit people, she made threats to kill people, she was harassing a guy, she killed her mother, decapited her, she walked outside with her head and she got a slap on the wrist by the justice system? She should have got either a life-term in jail or a life-term in a mental institution. You can't redeem such a monster, she'll kill again when out.
She is deranged. No hope for rehabilitation 😮
16 years will go by fast...and then what? She'll surely do this again she needs ro be locked up with a straight jacket for life
Exactly! She will DEFINITELY kill again when she gets out! 16 years from 2020 is 2036. She’ll be out in 12 years! They can’t let this monster roam the streets ever again!
The poor little boy, the grandson, he has been forever changed by such a trauma, at such a young age. 😔
He even tried to help out his grandma from that big beast. The poor brave little boy...😔🙏
She should NEVER be out of prison! Crazy light sentence considering all the facts. 😢
She’ll no doubt kill again if she’s released.
The sentence is a total joke. Once out, she will undoubtedly do something similar to someone else.
@@micktaylor9332I think she’ll kill again
That's the (in) justice Australian law
She needs to be be in a mental institution. Not jail forever!
She needs to go bye-bye, permanently … you ain’t rehabbing THAT.
Same thing I was thinking.
💯
She definitely got lucky being sentenced by Toad from Mario Bros.
Absolutely. She's a waste of space & resources....get rid.
Exactly there is nothing nor anyone that help that monster
She decapitated her own mother, and only got 16 years??? Now that is a BROKEN justice system!!! WTF!
She’d get life no parole here in the states even for manslaughter considering the level of the crime and how long she terrorized her community and stalked that man and his family. Taylor shabizzness did the same thing. non-premeditated decapitated her lover and she got life with no parole. Our justice system is messed up but it’s not Australia messed up. This woman will hurt someone else when she gets out

Well now you know if you want to do something similar, do it in Australia… or the UK, you’ll be out in time to still enjoy your life… what a joke
@@ellemmenn2930 Its really unbelievable,smh...
As an Australian, this case shocked me. The very fact she will always be a danger to society should be the very reason she remains locked up in a mental health facility for the rest of her life. Who is going to support and supervise her upon release? It's all good and well reducing her sentence, but honestly, what good is that going to do for her or society??
"Not my Jessica, she wouldn't hurt a fly"
Delusional parents are the most infuriating people on earth
After she had already attacked fellow students and teachers at school
Yes
And they brought a 4-year-old child around that. SMH!
Agreed, blind love ends in been beheaded
Rita’s delusional beliefs about Jessica are partly responsible for why Jessica was so entitled and narcissistic so I agree
She will NEVER not be a burden or fear to society. She’s the poster child for the need for life in a mental facility where she is kept highly medicated.
She NEVER should have been put into gen pop prison. How was that allowed?
The system failed before this horrific tragedy happened and seems to continually fail after. How many people need to be hurt to protect this one very mentally ill person that has proven over and over and over again to be aggressive and a harm to others?
Those poor emergency services workers, neighbours & 3 year old boy they will never forget. Scarred for life.
That emergency services call sounds like she's chatting to a friend about neighbourhood gossip. This is unbelievable
That’s by design. You don’t want to further aggravate someone who admits to what she did. You want to keep them calm and make sure they won’t lash out when emergency services arrives.
@RightsForZombies yeah that's true. But I mean the way Jessica herself is talking. Not in the emergency services response.
All the useless information she gives out after the 'I took her head off' bit is completely barmy.
@@RightsForZombies not the officer. she's doing a great job. but Jessica herself...
@@bananacathammock She’s clearly mentally disorganised and ill, though. I misunderstood what OP was saying.
Ohh... I remember this case. That woman, Jessica had been absolutely mentally ill with co-morbidities of so many variables.
I don't even know what to say. She should've been locked up in a mental health facility long long time before her teenage years. This may sound harsh, but not as harsh as the image of her decapitated mother.
There was and is a reason for highly secured mental health facilities - whether society finds the idea "cruel" or not. Jessica definitely belonged in one. Poor Rita, may she rest in peace. 😢
I agree. Sometimes we forget that helping other people in need and goodwill are good deeds, but there are people who are simply unfit to co-exist with others. It's not necessary their fault, but there is only so much one person can do to help another to live in a society, safe for everybody. There are people, who don't have the capacity to understand, what does it mean to belong to a community, what kind of responsibility is expected and what kind of behaviour is expected. I don't think it sound harsh to say, these people have to be kept in safety, for their own and for others. If her reduced sentence would stay, she would be bodily fit when she reenters society and she surely will be capable to continue to do horrible things. But if she proceeds with the further assault and whatnot, she won't see the blue sky again befor her 85th birthday. The fact that she doesn't learn from the consequences of her actions and her remark "jail is not like the real world" show that she still doesn't really understand the concepts of jurisdiction, felony and punishment.
💯 agree Jessica should've been in a secure mental health facility long before this horrific incident.
Sadly Mum enabled her .
👍👍👍👍
@@mol588 Agree but in defence of the mother, I have had personal experience with the very same mental health services in this area. I can assure you that it is an 'in and out' process and they want the person OUT to cohabit rather than keep them in. There is more focus on addicted patients. Her Mum enabled her but she didn't get the assistance she needed from the government for help. It is sickening but a reality.
I agree. And now in the aftermath of what she's done, she should have at least been put in a mental hospital for the criminally insane for the rest of her life. But I guess they don't have those in Australia (?). One reason I'd not want to visit Australia (or some other countries) is how light they are on violent criminals, especially s_xual predators and m_rderers. Not only would I not feel safe, but I'd feel like I'd not get justice if I was attacked/had my life taken. And then you don't have the ability to keep something on you to protect yourself in some countries because of restrictions. What dark god do they need all these sacrifices to? SMH
OMG, the call is so horrific. I am blown away by it. She was telling her story so casually. I am at a loss for words.
Yeah, there's a lot to be said about this. This woman should've been institutionalized a long time ago and sadly I think her mother was too protective of her and that prevented the community from being protected from Jessica. The mental health system is not and never will be perfect, but it is clear Jessica was a danger to others from an early age. I only hope Rita's grandson recovers mentally from the experience and that Jessica is never allowed back into the community again.
Yes agreed
Unfortunately there are no institutions for people like this, the mental health system here in Australia needs far more money and resources to help families like this.
I doubt the true severity and myriad of disease here is even being reported. This is an impossible case. A nightmare from beginning to end. There is no "system" that can handle this and still meet the current standard of humanity and also be effective.
@@janetpendlebury6808I don’t know that there are any places like this anymore. That was the only thing I could think of as well as an option.
I agree with everything you said. She should never be released.
This is such a heartbreaking and horrid case. Jessica should remain in a locked down mental health facility, never to see the light of day as a free woman again. Her sentence is just too light for the circumstances.
All my love to Rita’s family. Rita seemed to be an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. May she rest peacefully ❤
She will never be able to control her impulses. She has a deficit in her brain. She probably should have been in an institution. She should always be in care.
I whole heartedly agree with this. I was going to say the same thing but was sure someone else would have said it. She will never be safe out in public. If she gets out and hurts someone again then a serious investigation into the sentencing guidelines that exists in Australia. How many more people will suffer because our justice system is light on offenders. Jessica needs help. I am not sure prison was the right way to go. The life in a locked mental institution would have been the better call here.
Lead is cheaper
I agree Jessica is a set personality completely in stone cold 🥶 reactive situations
She wants to control in severe attacks on Peoples who don't obey.
Unfortunately there is a horribly easy bet
A killing will be made in fury
Why does someone else have to die violently to recognise a flawed judgement 😮 ?
I figured that's what would happen and, I agree, it should be life in a mental facility.@Lenergyiskey358
Man that phone call is insane was not expecting to hear that
Anything less than life in prison with no parole is not a stern sentence… lack of justice system
Wtf the judge openly admits that she's a danger to society but no mandatory preventive detention!
I feel bad for the community, who will suffer for the ridiculous decisions the judge made.
They do it every time! Sometimes I just stop watching a video when I hear it happened in Australia, the U.K., or Canada. I already know it's gonna frustrate me. If they can't give people real life sentences for taking multiple lives (which they usually don't), then they're not going to for stuff like this, no matter how brutal. It's like how I've stopped watching any unsolved mysteries. I hate when there's no justice.

Jessica is pure evil. How they could ever even consider letting this monster out of jail is beyond me.
Her mother's wish...
She is the one who said she would never hurt anyone...
She would probably have given her no time at all... Had she been her own judge...
I actually met Jessica (I was a student nurse on placement in the prison she was in prior to her sentencing) she’s definitely in need of ongoing treatment and medication but the real danger is she presents as a sweet, if self absorbed, person. I had to keep reminding myself to not let my guard down when around her and to not let myself get into a position where she could hurt me (she never attempted too but as a student nurse I always had a guard and a nurse with me when interacting with the inmates) but she is very easy to relax around and drop your guard.
Gosh it’s both fascinating and sickening how someone can present themselves one way while knowing that they can do the most horrendous things
That's very scary!
Looking after a four year old grandson in such a dangerous environment is a big NO , NO , people 😮 the hell are you thinking?❤
I was wondering the exact same thing - why on earth did the sister think it was okay to send her could over there where that monster was also roaming and rampaging?!

@@rosec6680 I’m in the U.s and I agree. usually, they sound so rude like they’re bothered that the person even called
I imagine her sentence will keep ticking up from assaults and attacks in prison. I can't see her ever being released and that's probably for the best since she'll never be able to function in society. She'd be sent back shortly after release for another attack. Hopefully one of the judges who approved her appeal, not an innocent bystander!
This is most likely the case. If she keeps attacking people more time will be added for any criminal acts and even if she is released it will likely be into care, not as a free member of the public. Our sentences here are often ridiculously lenient but I can’t see any way in which the court will simply release her unsupervised.
Sounds like Rita was in deeply denial…so sad, especially for the family and the officers at the scene. So severe mental illness..she should have been locked a long time ago 😢

I can’t believe she did that in front of her little nephew. He must be absolutely traumatised after witnessing something like that. 💔
OMFG WHY Didn't SHE GET LIFE??? HER SENTENCE IS FUCKING SHOCKING....
A couple of things I want to clarify: Rita's comment about, "Not Jessica, she wouldn't hurt a fly!" was said in exasperation and dry/black humour. Additionally, I don't think this video quite emphasises just how much time and effort Rita had put in to getting Jessica help and trying to find her placements in secure living facilities. She wasn't ignorant or blinded by love at all, she was left to handle everything herself by a terribly underfunded and resource-poor health system.
She did let Jessica have a phone, let her watch gore constantly, and apparently refused to discipline her to the point her father left and her behaviour got notably worse.

Fascinating case. How could anyone, especially a panel of judges, think she should EVER be set free? They're as crazy as her... well maybe not that crazy
Ohh I'm so happy you're covering this case. I've done extensive research with Jessica, and I came close to doing a phone interview since I live in the States. Her case was the one I reviewed for school in studying other countries' legal systems. She was willing until the very last second, and she attacked the police officer beforehand who escorted her. Her family has such a profound sense of loss, and I believe they are very much in danger when Jessica gets released. When I spoke with her sister, briefly, she was very kind and willing to speak with me. I hope they have peace soon. I do worry Jessica will be killed in custody, because of how much shit she starts. She's recently even charged with agrivated assault while in custody, which may extend her stay.
Thanks for the additional info!
I hope her stay is extended. She is thin skinned and has explosive anger.
Were you able to get any sense of why her parents let her get this bad? She had an IQ of 55-60 and it feels like the just completely abdicated parenting or discipline and just let her do whatever she wanted.
Did they think she was just magically going to get better? Were they under the impression that not disciplining her, letting her harass people with no consequences, and keeping her out of the mental healthcare system was a good thing? It seems like common sense not to let someone with IED watch gore movies and have a phone with which to harass people, and yet her mother just let her.
That poor little boy!
This is the most appalling and disgusting and disturbing case I’ve ever seen, in all my years of consuming true crime. I’ve been consuming true crime since I was in 5th grade in 2006. This is absolutely mind-numbing, this case

Absolutley horrific, that poor mother. Really appreciate the somber tone you adopt when narrating these victims’ stories, and always so well researched. Kudos 💕
I'm struggling to see the mother as a victim here. What exactly did she think was going to happen? She didn't bother to parent Jessica, wouldn't allow her husband to parent Jessica, let her do whatever she wanted and taught her it was ok for her to harass and harm people and there would be no consequences. This seemed inevitable and I'm glad the person responsible for it was the one who died, not some random stranger.
For reference, her IQ is common of that of someone with Down's Syndrome or a severe TBI.

Oh please. There are MULTIPLE mental health facilities and counseling centers that take people who can't pay.
They receive state and federal funds to operate.
In the states, someone like Jessica (who would have been receiving disability benefits), would also be receiving medicaid services.
What IS needed are more permanent facilities where someone like Jessica would live out the rest of her days, closely monitored and medicated.
But family members have to be willing to face some hard truths about the person they love.

Getting care for mental health should not be a threat but an act of love. If only it was destigmatized. There are so many red flags throughout this story. Its incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking, particularly for the grandson.
Totally agree with you
It's an act of love and I agree. The moms willingness to do everything and enabling Jessica was such a dangerous duo. Rita sounded so kind to a fault. It's so unfortunate that someone who cares so much gets killed because she wanted to take care of her dangerous daughter. No parent should have to make the decision to commit their child.
I agree. When a Mother tells her doctor that her child is not learning age related and appropriate skills, her doctor should care. Children and teens with mental illness are brushed off and doctors don’t believe their parents about the daily struggles they endure due to their child’s behaviour. I have no faith in the health care system.
@@RedLilyCat I agree. So heartbreaking. However, if a child is diagnosed with cancer, s/he may be fully supported by parent and community and in treatment for a very long time. I was a maintenance worker there for two and a half years . Whilst waiting at the guards post to enquire when we could begin a maintenance task , Camilleri stood on the other side of a heavy framed door with security glass . I had my back to her , but sensed someone was there . As I turned , she said " Hello " . I shiver ran right through me . She is 5 times more scary in real life , even with a solid door between us .
The only other time in my life I felt that was in 1980 / 81 when my college buddy bought some hash from his dealer at North Herts Technical College at Letchworth .
The dealer was John Martin Scripps who was hanged for multiple murder in Singapore in 1996 .
That is one evil witch. And she'll be out before we know it. Thanks to this joke of a judicial system that doesn't practice law in the real world but some abstract , mental health BS cope.
She should NEVER be released!
That was the most insane phone call I've ever heard. Less than a minute in my jaw was on the floor😮
Holy crap! The first few minutes of that surreal phone call... 😳
Her personality shows on her face; she looks like a daughter of Heath Ledger's "The Joker".
Mental illness + entitlement is a dangerous duo.
I said the same thing
How mad do you have to be to get locked up for life if this isn’t it?
I remember this vividly when it happened... the recording of her call to the police was so chilling in its matter of fact blandness. Something so heinous being described like " I've just witnessed a car accident " or something... carry around her mother's severed head... it's just inconceivable... I know mental illness is real and a struggle for everyone involved, but this has to pure evil personified
She is exhibiting such aggression towards other patients and officers that it is unlikely she will ever be released. My condolences to Rita's family and I hope her young grandson is doing well. I feel sorry for him as he had to witness this terrible attack on his grandmother, but how brave was he for trying to help her.
She had her mom's head in her hand and "surprisingly" she knew that sounds insane!!!!!
I hope she is not going to kill other people in jail
I'm not bothered what anybody say's but a Woman like this Should never ever be released from prison, regardless of her Mental Status no way can shit like this be fixed, Look at her past history and i feel had this been a man that did this he would be serving Life, it is about time these Stupid Judges gave out real Justice for these poor Victims absolutely shocking giving her actions and in front of a poor Traumatised for Life little Kid and Neighbours, i just honestly can't get my head around how Evil this woman is and to do that to her own mother who Loved her and Stood up for her WTF this is worse then any Horror Movie this is EVIL to the core!
Absolutely vile
She wasn't bullied in school. She was the bully.
I GENUINELY HAVE AUTISM AND ADHD. AND I DON'T CUT PEOPLE HEADS OFF. ESPECIALLY MUM
They said "bipolar disorder" too but IDK it sounds like something else
It is beyond belief how the court of appeals could grant an appeal and reduce the sentence for a brutal killer that continues to viciously attack inmates and staff members in prison. The fact that her sentence was later extended for ripping a staff members hair out clearly shows that the court of appeals got it wrong.
" I ran with my mothers head , I know it sounds insane but I was taking it for evidence to show the neighbour "!!! I can't imagine the horror of such a sight ! Must have been very traumatic for everyone that witnessed it.
I’m not one for the death penalty but she’ll be a notable exception to this. Absolute danger to both everyone and herself.
Also. Absolute joke of a sentence.
I completely agree
Australia is an insane place when it comes to ‘justice’
Yep! Vote her off the “ island “
What's key for me is that she _chose_ to stop taking her medication. She knew what it was for, she knew what would happen, but she did it anyway. And I think that was buried but needed to be amplified. I've seen other cases where this happened: Violently mentally ill people choosing not to take their medication and, thus, giving into their impulses and not only taking someone's life but in a way beyond human comprehension. So, these are people who know better who are making a CHOICE. Ergo, they'll always be a danger because they CHOOSE to be. So, let them sleep.
@@LadyAstarionAncunin She has the IQ of someone with Down's or a TBI - how much of a choice was she actually capable of making? Especially when there were clearly no consequences for doing anything. Her mother failed her and it's a damn shame that Rita chose to allow a four year old around someone so dangerous
... So what does this girl need to do to actually get punished? Does she need to kill a judge? Cause like hell she wouldn't.
Hope things work out in a way that actually makes sense cause right now they don't even come close to.
What the actual fuck
100+ stab wounds (90 while still alive) prior to decapitation. Her tongue, nose & eyes removed = 16 years?!! Talk about bad math 😢...I've loved this channel for years but idk if I can make it thru all of the selfies of Seabuscuit!
The Judge can invite her for Steak diner once she gets out .
That call recording at the very beginning was jarring, just the matter of fact way she's talking and the dispatcher being so calm. Idk if I could do that though I know it's a very professional method.
I listen to these cases in bed at night. There is no way I can sleep tonight. That phone call was terrifying.
When a parent says my child is incapable of such an act - it always raises alarm bells for me. The perpetrator in this case required institutionalization. I'm not a fan of government overreach but cases like this prove that parents don't always know what's best.
Parents who do not know our Lord and Savior, not all. 🫶🏾
@@purposeiseverything753 Unfortunately, 'knowing' Yeshua doesn't prevent parents from catastrophic failure
Scariest thing is she's coming back out and she's going to be more hell bent on revenge than ever. We have the weakest sentencing laws in the world in Australia. Our justice system is a joke.
There's a death penalty in Australia, it's for the victims 😔
"I took off her head" like it was nothing. Wtf! Im disturbed by this case. Omg
