Cheers Ryan! its a great kit like, my initial plan was to build them so I could make a vet guard and a blooded list with the one set.... but immediately abandoned that for the much easier single build.

great battle report. very high quality, good commemtary, gorgeous models. my only complaint is that both sides made a shit ton of blunders, especially on legionary side, which hurts me to watch. otheriwise great job

Great video! I'm always happy to find top kill team content.
One thing, I know you were already winning by that point, and you used the last CP on a reroll, when your leader was charged you could have used the CP for "Callous Disregard" and shot with the Melta. Or if the chieftain was more than 6" away from the drop zone, used "Moment of repute" on your chieftain for +1Apl and fell back and shoot with Plasma Pistol. Not saying that this would be better, as you did win.
We were a little against the clock towards the end of the game. These are great comments though. I've yet to use Callous Disregard - i have this idea that i'll declare it and then roll all 2s and 1s. It almost came up in a game recently but i was able to sneak a win without using it. Got a tournament on the 18th this month with them thought so im imagining it might come up. Thanks for the comment though always looking to get better with the blooded.

Hadn't seen the blooded in action yet, but they seem like a cool team, loving the catachan! (especially since they are quite multipurpose, you could een run them with ork kommando rules for variation)
i hadsuch lofty plans when i was making the team - i tohught with enough careful planning I could build, vet guard & Blooded as one team - but also throwing in kommandos wouldve worked aswell. I caved though it was too much planning so i just went blooded :D next time

Blooded are a good counter to Elite Teams in general. I main Legionarys and Corsairs and i always get the short end of the stick when i play Legios vs Blooded. GG my man.
I really wasnt sure how well theyd play into them, it didn't all go to plan and i REALLY need to work on deployment with these high model count teams, but im still really happy with how the blooded play across all the games ive had with them. Cheers bud

Although I hate that you took a perfectly good Chaos team and made them Loyalist, DAMN that's a good conversion.
I know man, it pained me aswell! reverse heresy. I'm generally chaos through and through - word bearers or bust. I like to think that the catachan have slowly become tainted by chaos, if you think about their tac ops - ruthless disregard where they shoot into their own ranks? sounds like the seeds of chaos to me. Having now said that i'd love to do a slightly more warp tainted catachan team like a few campaigns on when their 'gifts' start showing
@@GFNGaming That's a pretty great idea. It makes some sense to me that less pure Catachan infantry could get tainted by the dark gods, particularly Khorne. Living in such a hostile environment is bound to cause some wrathful tendencies.

I don't always melee with my Acolyte, but when I do I cast Malign Influence on him and crit on 5s for an extra 6 Mortal Wounds to kill an Ogryn. ;)
Oh that's a nice one, I don't think I've had one in combat intentionally before either but that would be a good shout for if it needs to happen 👍

@@GFNGaming I'm awaiting the release of a Catachan KT and if they don't design them all in the vein of Predator cast and Rambo, a written complaint will be sent.

apologies if you mentioned this already - whats the base kit of the catachan from?
I mention it right before showing the models but if you're navigating around you might miss it - its the SpaceNam set from Wargamers Atlantic - think the modeller is Reptillian overlords - great kit - they do a bunch of great kits that work as proxies for guard
Great report, thanks! I haven't played yet, but it looks quite interesting compared to other GW games. I notice some orders change mid-turn (for example meltagunner at16:00 has conceal but then shoots the plague marine at 18:00) Is it some special rule you don't mention in the report, because it's obvious for someone who knows the game?
Cheers bud, You decide the order they have at the begining of turn 1 but from t2 onwards everytime you activate them you can change their orders - i dont always mention it as its a fundamental of the game and the tokens change to represent it but in general only 'silent' weapons (snipers) can shoot whilst remaining in conceal, so in that instance the skull (conceal) icon moves to target (engage) so that the meltagun can fire.

@@GFNGaming thanks for the clarification :) after skimming the rules I was under the impression it's some kind of a tactical decision where you plan orders at the start of every turn and have to strategize in advance like for example with FOCUS allocation in my beloved Warmachine.
I certainly will, and actually today I am set up for a demo game :) I have a quarter of a century of experience with GW games and for some time I've been nothing but disappointed with them (compared to modern board game designs for instance) but KT certainly looks like something a bit different.

I can’t help but watch this video and think about how much better Mark of Tzeentch would have been. The invulnerable save strategic ploy would have been very useful multiple times. The 4apl tactical ploy would have been useful multiple times.
the age old legionaries battle, to nurgle or to tzeentch
tp2 why did that balefire not drop back and shoot? Fall back and Fireball Blast would of been my option there.

Haha ok so, i originally started doing commission painting as 'Grandfather Nurgles Paint Emporium' - which over time became GFN Painting - when i moved over to making videos I just kept the name and changed the painting to gaming - so technically it stands for Grandfather nurgles - but im open to better suggestions :D

@@GFNGaming Until KT 2021 I was always a stout Steel Legion/Black Templar player, but with the kill teams ease of access I have submitted to Deathguard and a bringers of decay legionary’s team. Papa Nurgle bless. Again love the videos, love the podcast, keep it up king 💪

Do you feel that legionaries are worth proxying over just death guard?
It might be a play style you prefer but honestly i do think Legionaries are just better in every way. You can run them with Mark of nurgle which means get a natural boost to defence with disgusting vigor and you can mutagenic flesh to reduce all normal damage which really helps - only the annointed gets a FNP so maybe they're slightly less durable in general but they get 3 circle move instead of the 2 base plus you get more interesting operatives (IMO) with all the special rules they add to the game.
So. In kill team, the astra militarum infantry are no longer used only as walls of meat? Now they are capable of killing something? I was sad to see battle reports in 40k where this faction with such great lore and aesthetics was always devastated (infantry only) and 90% of the casualties were caused only by vehicles. How can you have twenty guys shooting laser weapons and not make a single scratch?
