  • Our first impressions of Dubrovnik, Croatia!
This was our first time in Croatia, and our first stop is the popular city of Dubrovnik.
Its history and tourist attractions are mind blowing, and its beaches and sights are beautiful.
It was a bit overwhelming with the amount of tourists visiting the city, especially after the show Game of Thrones was filmed here. But it did not take away from our perfect holiday.

@@COCOGROCOSHOW Yea, they would never put in that museum that all started after Yugoslavian army already withdraw from Croatia after agreement between Tuđman and Milošević "to keep it peacfully", and that there was no need for war at all because negotiation process was already started. But instead to resolve it on table, the moment Yugoslavian army withdrew, Croatians tryed to ethnicly clean Dalmatia of Serbs -- as usual, under patronage of "international peacekeepers" -- so in the end you got a bloody civil war, with lot of irregular units on both sides, that ended in Blokade of Dubrovnik and smashing Old Town... So I am not surprized at all that so called musem has not any facts or explanation in it, because "we went a little nazi, AGAIN, and tried to genocide Serbs, AGAIN", although negotiation process already strarted, sure would not look nice... And of course, they always forgeth to say that "evil Serbs" didn't came from Mars or Venus, but lived there for centuries...

I'm glad you liked it in Croatia, just try to get more cultural context before posting something. Term 'Balkans' is considered derogatory in the entire region, especially in Central / Southeast Europe where Croatia is located, as it was often used pejoratively by Western countries to depict the region as uncivilized and politically chaotic. So it's like putting a title: "I found my favorite US city stolen from Native Americans (NEW YORK)"... While it may be factually accurate, it is still not appropriate wording. Especially when you can say European or Mediterranean or anything similar that doesn't carry the same connotation.

In the attack on Dubrovnik in 1991 and 1992, out of 824 buildings in the historic core (old town), 594 were damaged, with a total area of 192,338 square meters, of which 382 were residential, 19 religious and 10 public, while the rest of the buildings had their roofs damaged. In the wartime destruction of the historic center of Dubrovnik, 72 percent of the city's buildings were damaged, nine of which were completely burned, while the roofs of four others were partially burned.

Cevapi and burek as well as otter kind of pita are best in Sarajevo. Dubrovnik has a great sea food and pasta. Grill is the best in Serbia. Probably south Serbia. Why Croatia wanted to separate? They were always highly nationalistic since WW II.. That you can’t learn there.

That is not true. Croatian are not highly nationalistic. Your statement say more about you then about people of Croatia. Kingdom of Jugoslavia and Jugoslavia were states made by contract, so historically we were separate states before agreement . People were not happy with Jugoslavia In 1990, Slovenia and Croatia decided to made their own national states again.and separate from Jugoslavia. Serbs came with tenks, soldiers and start to kill our citizens. From 1990-1995 I was almost five times killed., my house was completely destroyed...so when I see statement like this it makes me very angry.

@@majaharbig5326 Sorry, but not only you’ve suffered. Thousands have suffered. Facts are facts. Look up Croatia between 1929-1945, then talk. Not all Croatians are like that of course, but nationalistic flare was always present. Croatia and Slovenia did not have a good reason to leave. They were living the best lives of all republics in ex YU. That is also a fact. Them leaving does not justify war of course, especially Balkan slaughterhouse wars. It is much more complicated than this but there is no space or time for any meaningful discussion here. 🍉☮✌

Of course they have museum of that horible War to put all blame on the Serbs ,same like Muslims in Bosnia . Non of them will never say that in Croatia and in Bosnia first victims are SERBS but "VICTIM CARD " is reserved for Croats and Bosnians . We are living in that kind of World ,unfortunatly . Bombing of Dubrovnik was wrong and horrible but what is NICE in the CIVIL WAR ???? They also never gonna say civil war ,they like to say "Serbian agression" but truth is that those provinces decide to separete from Yugoslavia and start terrorizing Serbian population there . If Serbia (I hope they will) opens museums about Croat and Muslim attrocities in that War woulb be 10 times more horible to see .

@@damirblazevic4823 in this case both sides telling lies. Yes, of course bombing of Dubrovnik was terrible, esepcially for me. I am from Belgrade, but half of my closest family was in Dubrovnik during a war, and now. I am visiting Dubrovnik regularly with my daughter, with car, my daughter in December with her boyfriend... so i don't have any problem. But, during one of my visit with daughter, walking on city walls, saw a turist guide who was talking to Japanese turist that - Serbs engage Chausescu Securitate to kill people on Stradun with snipers. (?!?) What a stupid lie. Yugoslavia had best educated sniper soldiers, no need for Securitate. Even at this movie i saw one more lie. In the museum (time 16:55) is shown photo from Split, concentration camp Lora, but for Serbs, not for Croats. So, both sides lie, and that needs to stop asap.
I like to follow JetLag Warriors so much, and luckelly Steve did not wear Red Star Belgrade jersey in Dubrovnik and Split, like he did it in Brasil. 🤣
