Speaking for the Norwegian hand cream, in the seventies, those of us who sculpted in clay and made our own pottery, this was our holy grail for keeping our hand presentable. We could only order it through the drug store pharmacist and we cherished it like it was made of platinum. Best product ever…

The Neutrogena hand cream is LITERALLY the best hand and foot cream on the planet!
I never thought of using it as a foot cream but that's a great idea I want to give that a try!
Completely agree!!! Especially in winter, cold weather season. My hands and feet LOVE getting their Neutrogena Norwegian rub down.
I tried it once and had an allergic reaction from it. Never touched it since. It was the hand creme btw.

It's a term for that here in America as well I think sometimes as a culture we don't remember that things in one language can mean something different than other and realizes that truth

"Sundowners" is also the term used by boat folk (Sailboat travellers especially) for cocktails that one drinks at sundown. It is often a social activity that one invites friends over for.
It's also a term in the southern states for towns where people of colour are advised not to linger after the sun goes down. Sadly yes, there are still places like that. Perhaps people who name palettes would benefit from a crash course in using the googles?!!!

@@pattikelley5157 I use the unscented quick dry one for years now and it's SO fantastic. Not sticky, just smooth, silky hands immediately (and lasting), even in winter.
And although the tube is pretty small it lasts quite a while, since you need only a little bit.

You need a seam ripper. Opens up everything. I use it on everything. Great on envelopes and unwrapping eye pencils.

Also good for opening those pesky foil blister packs of chewable tylenol, because if you peel yhethe paper and then push the tablet through, you get pixie stix that taste like medicine.😸😹🎻

That Christophe Robyn scalp scrub is so nice! I got a huge one in a box and it will last me years. The salt in it is chonky but it makes the best scalp cleanser and you need so little.

Oh my goodness, the way you were trying to find a good way to explain why that pallet name wasn't good, going "I see what they were going for....." I was thinking, what did they do, call it sundowner? and I legit laughed out loud when it was. They really need another person on their naming dept (or just google the names first). I took care of my grandma during Covid and when she moved into a board and care home one of her housemates had sundowners and would try to escape at night to "go home" and would call everyone mama. Grandma had to lock her inside door to keep her from trying to escape through her room. Sweetest lady and had no idea what happened at night.

Yes, this is what it means to me as well, drinks at six/seven as the sun sets. I've never heard any other meaning, especially not related to dementia, so I wondering it is country specific.
I have only heard it as a medical slang term regarding dementia patients, like Alexandria.

Sundowners is definitely a dementia condition and only time I have heard of it.
@@bge3328Dementia and Alzheimer’s groups in the US, UK, and Canada all mention it as a common issue on their websites (Australia may, too, I didn’t check for sure). So it may be more that we don’t call an evening drink that here in the US (at least, not that I’m aware of) so there’s no competing definition to confuse it with like there is in other countries.

my mother swears by the norwegian formula neutrogena hand cream. it's really good for when your hands are so dry they crack and get bloody. but it's definitely not meant for ordinary everyday use.

That neutrogena hand cream is amazing. I have dermatillomania and pick at any dry skin on my fingers, and when I use this cream, I literally have no dry skin to pick. And you really don't have to use much! It comes out like a gel but when you start rubbing it, it turns into a cream.

I can attest to Kara having some really great quality palettes! The only thing I don't like about them is when they have glitters, but the shimmers are nice and quite smooth.
The Neutrogena hand cream used to be called The Fisherman's balm (or something similar). Use only a pea size amount, or you'll never get it all worked in! It's awesome for dry, winter hands.
The Norwegian formula has saved my cracked, dry hands many a Canadian winter. Highly recommend 👌

Have you ever done the Margot Elena subscription box? They can be hard to get but AMAZING. It's perfume, soaps, scrubs, candles, and such from her various brands.
I completely agree with you about the "Sundowners" palette. I deal with that with my Daddy and it's def no fun and the last thing I'd name a lovely eye shadow palette. Also, since witchy stuff is fun and has nothing to do with the devil/satan and everything to do with the earth, I loved the witchy box as well. There's some nutty people in this world lol (and in these comments 😅) and they need to lighten up.

Yes, Sundowners refers to an Alzheimer's patient. They can get very upset and uneasy when the sun goes down. It's best to have them safe and sound in their own familiar setting at this time.

Fun video, thank you! You're right, Sundowners is a terrible name for that eyeshadow. On top of the association with dementia, it's also associated with racism - "sundown towns" are those where non-whites should leave by sundown for their safety.
I loved the witch box and especially that mediations book! I can think of several friends who'd love that book as a gift even though they're not into witch craft. Have you ever thought about doing boxes from all different genres that you're not familiar with? It could be fun to watch you open unique boxes and try to figure out what the stuff is or does.
I mean, it also depends where the creators of the palette are from, the entire world is not America. In the UK and Australia "sundowner" refers to having drinks during sunset.
@lilLarisa97 of course it does. The point was sundowner has many negative connotations too, in many areas of the world. The racist meaning is American. The dementia meaning is pretty global as I understand it. One would think that someone involved in the product naming would think to do a quick search. When something has multiple meanings and several of them are negative, it's an odd choice for a product name.

I work in dermatology and we ALWAYS recommend the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream to our patients for use on hands AND lips! It actually moisturizes and does not dry lips out more like lip balm. It is the best! Super hard to find in stores though, I usually buy on Amazon!

Always love seeing a Random RoundUp. That BlinkWink Box sounds fun; I like the idea of the no false lashes one....I'm too chicken to even try them because of my eye allergies.
Also if things are appearing different to you than in the camera your lighting tone could be off. If you have adjustable lights I suggest trying out different lighting tones. I learnt that the hard way when I filmed a video for a project for Film Studies and the lighting was the correct brightness but the wrong tone.

That's the first thing I thought when you said the name of the pallet. If you had someone that suffered with Alzheimer's or Dementia or in my case and there's that is taking care of patients that have sundowners. It's so sad not a pallet I would ever be reaching for!
