The Sound of Music is a 1965 American musical drama film starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, with Richard Haydn and Eleanor Parker. Based on the 1949 memoir The Story of the Trapp Family Singers by Maria von Trapp, the film is about a young Austrian postulant in Salzburg, Austria, in 1938 who is sent to the villa of a retired naval officer and widower to be governess to his seven children. After bringing love and music into the lives of the family, she marries the officer and, together with the children, finds a way to survive the loss of their homeland to the Nazis.

It literally gives me goosebumps… This movie has so much sentimental value to me… Merely watching this got me emotional. God bless them all !❤
Christopher Plummer was a GORGEOUS young man- He passed away on Feb 5, 2021. He also was an outstanding voice actor. R.I.P TO THAT LEGEND
So sad RIP
William Shatner (now 90 years old and incredibly youthful) was his understudy when they got their start in Stratford, Ontario as Shakespearian actors.
Christopher also aged very well. RIP ❤

I watched this when I was a young boy. I am already 62 and I am still watching this movie every year. Amazing movie.
Life is like a fleeting shadow. Young today, old tomorrow. Enjoy your life now!!!! You won’t stay young and alive forever. Such an awesome movie.
Sounds of Music is a movie that will never be forgotten for a life time😍❤️.. I have watched it more than a thousand times and each time I watch it.. it's as though I'm watching it for the first time 😍🤗❤️.. those were real talented actors and actresses ❤️...
I just watched this Sunday night. I Love this movie. My 6th grade teacher taught my class all the songs. I will always remember Ms. Hattie Russell for her love of music.
Angela Cartwright had a huge TV career, she was also in Lost in Space, she still does Tours in Salzberg about the Sound of Music!
I loved her in Make Room For Daddy, she was a doll there.
Anyone watching this in 2021 no just me ok 😌
Edit: omg I had no idea anyone would notice this comment, thanks so much for the likes. 😊💕

I am taking time off from packing. Lol. I found this CZcams. We went to Salzburg not knowing that was one area they had to film the sound of music. At the end of the day, we all going to be gone one day like these people. But the lesson of life is to enjoy the people that touched your heart. Thank you and Scott for being you.
Sad that the older actors outlived the children actors.... Such an amazing epic movie of all times.... Rip to those who are no longer with us
Why am I 😭😭😭??? This movie meant so much to me and still does! I watch it every birthday 🎉 to the detriment of my family!!! 🤣😅 How can I not??? This is my favourite movie of all time! No nudity or swearing! Just pure bliss to watch with the family! ❤️ Forever in my heart!
I have been watching this movie since I was little, the people, music and songs will forever be part of my heart 💖
This video made me quite emotional too 😭
@@stupidlittlepotato5220 Hugs 🤗 This movie will always be a work of art!! Simply beautiful ❤️
The first memory for me watching a movie in the cinema at the age of 11 in Haarlem. Every year the movie is on tv again around christmas. And then i watch it again. Love it. I am 67 now
I remember in 2017 I searched the children how they looked then and exactly that day Louisa died. That was really scary.
Very sad RIP
My all time favourite musical. I had the honour to lead the small orchestra in five shows at Shanklin Theatre, on the Isle of Wight in England, UK.
I love the sound of music and it was the best movie I ever seen
I find it sad that Julie Andrews outlived some of the children
It’s sad that she’s lives? Like it doesn’t matter-

Captain Vontrap is still handsome in his old age.
He passed away on Feb 5th 2021
He is forever Captain Von Trapp! The great Christopher Plummer was born for that wonderful role!
the sound of music is like one of those special films that you watch at a specific time of the year
this is my comfort movie i love it so so very much
Bravo
My favorite movie, at this very age, i still love to watch 'The Sound Of Music'.
Here I must say thanks to all actors and just pray Julie will live as long as much....
Rest in peace everyone who passed away that had a part to play in the production of the Sound of Music. May the Lord God, Jesus, Virgin Mary and Holy Spirit help them, their family and their friends. Amen. 🙏❤
When I moved to America at the age of 23 I was at first VERY unhappy. A chinese couple invited me to see "The sound of music" at that time, after I had been in Austria in Salzburg before I moved to America...I remember that I cried buckets when I saw Salzburg on screen and the mountain, and the Mozarteum and the gardens, and the abbey, and the fortress.... and all the places I knew so well!...I had had no idea how much it had all meant to me....
Rest in piece to all the people that made this film a success❤️
I love the movie and I.m very sorry for those people who died R.I.P😭😭
Eleanor Parker was a star. She was nominated for three Academy Awards for her roles in the films Caged, Detective Story, and Interrupted Melody as best actress. Her part in the Sound of Music was a co-star. A supportive role. She was also in a wonderful movie Pride of the Marines with John Garfield.
Such a good movie! I watched it for the first time when I was 12 with my parents and I enjoyed it so much!
R.I.P to all the amazing actors who have lost their lives and may the remaining ones be blessed 💖
R.I.P our Kapten VonTrapp on 5 February 2021, I'm so sad to heard that :(
I watched this movie when I was 4 And I am still in love with this movie
Mis mas profundos respetos y mayor admiración para tan muy buenos actores...gloria eterna para todos ellos. Dios los tiene en sus bellos coros de ángeles en el cielo.

I loved seeing the children as kids and then as adults it was awesome and I just love the movie
I don't want to ever get old
I saw the Sound of Music for the first time before, and now I've come to this video.
I'm embarrassed to say that I don't understand much English, but this video was easy to understand and I was able to find out what I wanted to know.
Thank you for making a video like this.
I'm sorry if my English is wrong.
From a Japanese who loves musicals
I hope to meet them in heaven....and to make a new sound of music!😀

This is a very good video! Must watch The sound of music. I haven't watched it in years! Love this film !
Same
Made my heart sing. Problems melted away for a couple of hours.
I watched this movie in the late 1960's when I was 8-9 years old.
Then my nieces and nephews, my children watched it and now their children watch this as well.
Rest In Peace to those who have left us ... thank you for all the memories.
I’ve never seen a photo of Eleanor Parker past her mid sixties. Thank you for finding that photo. She was an incredibly private person so there’s not much out there in terms of pictures outside her movie roles.
The Baroness Scroeder' was my husband's First cousin -(who was actually a real & also beautiful -*-Princess-*- de Rohan )who - brokenhearted - never got over the Baron (C. Plummer) marrying the Nun- having to go into a Clinic for treatment & therapy for a long time but * then was horribly abused by the invading Nazis in WW2.in Bohemia - near her home -(where her ancestors had 'escaped' to during the French Revolution.) We also pray for the Souls of all the beloved cast in this PERFECT FILM having seen it many times -Very shocked to see how many have 'passed on'.
I hate musicals, so it is hard for me to believe how much I love this movie! Saw it when I was in high school and have loved it ever since! I've been known to sing the songs from it now and the.🙂
I mean Chris Plummer ripping up a Nazi flag?? 🤩 What’s not to love?? 😂
Thank you very much. Great documentary on all these beloved actors and actresses.
Glad you enjoyed it
La peli la vi cuando se estreno. Tenía 15 años . Pasaron los años y volví a verla 6 veces. Fui y soy una apasionada de la música dela peli

I got to say Hi to Christopher Plummer and tell him i loved his acting in the movie especially when he was in Pittsburgh a while ago
Not me thinking this was filmed in the 2002s!! Why is the quality so good???
RIP.
?????
lol, you don’t watch a lot of old movies, do ya? They’ve always had good quality. Plus, it’s a mainstream movie, not a B-movie.
