Still my favorite scene scene of the whole series. Great music, good acting, poignant dialogue. That's what the show was best at - small, individual incidents, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, with real people and Nolan trying to help one person at a time, digging into his own life experience. Then it jumped the shark with serial killers, russian spies, going abroad to fight a cartel etc.

I’ve never watched this show but oh man this ripped me apart. It took hundreds of thousands of “one more days” before I could look forward to Thursday. Or next Saturday. Sometimes the little stupid things are all you have to live for.
I talked somebody out of pulling the trigger on themselves once. While this show is full of ham handed Hollywood moments, that is a good question for real people to ask a depressed friend or coworker. Ask them what they would say to talk someone else down from a ledge? Any thoughts? I have friends who have a hard time and would welcome any positive ideas. JT

He ended his life and my family has a permanent scar now, his parents are both in shambles and will probably always be. Hell, I'm surprised they are still alive and haven't done anything to harm themselves. They are such a mess but slowly they are making progress. My point, is whenever you feel like no one loves or cares about you, that's not true. His entire town had a moment of silence for him. Over 300 cards and gifts were sent to his parent's house. The whole town mourned his death. Even if you feel like no one cares, people do.

I do my best to help and especially recently, many of my friends have needed help. Not to the extreme he needed but still. I'm doing just fine myself and I've mostly moved on from losing my cousin. Most people just need someone to listen so I do my best to be that person. In fact, one of my friends has called me numerous times in the middle of the night crying because she knows I will pick up. Everyone needs and deserves someone to be a shoulder to cry on. Just having that is often all someone needs.

I do my best to make sure everyone at least has one person to come to. Although I dont believe, I'm happy I helped boost your faith. I used to be Christian so I understand the importance of having faith even though I have been an atheist for several years. Stay strong and keep your faith strong. I may have lost mine but I do know how important and rewarding having faith is. I am studying at a catholic college so maybe I will end up becoming catholic again, we will see. ❤
