Historic Timber Frame Survey - what we look for...

A Grade 2* timber framed manor house. Beautiful, but neglected, and victim of considerable illegal works that will take a lot of work to put right. I show you how we survey them, what to look for, and reveal some of the dreadful practises that take place when builders and owners 'get away with it'. The new owner of this home will be undertaking a sensitive restoration project, and we hope to follow the process after he takes ownership.
This was one of the first surveys done on Orleton, and interesting to look back on, given the scale of the project now.
