- After a 3 year rebuild process the car is ready for it's initial shakedown laps at Toronto Motorsports Park.
It's straight line faster and the new transmission and shifter are good. The ABS was unexplainably not working which made suspension set up not really an effiencient use of time. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Still my favorite Z man keep it up
I’d agree if Sasha wasn’t such a dam mad scientist. But this is def my fav grass roots Z for sure.
Bro, Keep on Keeping on!!! You're still an inspiration to the community! I'm no where near that level, but I still love getting the 350z out to the track!
Glad to see one of my fav Z's ive been following all these years back on the track!
Hands down best sounding 350z on the planet, glad to have you back Mr. Gardner. Just one thing: subtitles should be on screen for at least 1-2 seconds longer.
@@carsNcards I know about sasha and i prefer this still
@@dms667 agreed more obtainable
Fantastic to see you out there. Wish I had snagged some footage but more so it would have been nice to get out there together! The ABS really does make a big difference, the problem is driving around the lack of it. Excited to see the continued progression. 👍
Nice to see the z back in action
I have waited for this for so long ❤
Looks good mate.
Love the vid man! Motivation for my HR
Maybe some voice overs. The text over the video is more 2010 lol
Voice overs seem a little more current as far as content goes. CZcams has come a long way in the last 10 years. But glad to see you out here running the z still! Nothing better! haha
Lol. I do some voice overs. It’s clear how long I have been using CZcams.
Michael Gardner & Sasha Anis are basically the gold standard of grassroots VQ racing. These guys are masters at their crafts.
Awesome!
Good to see it out again 🎉
Soon ready for a V8 cross over event.
@@2THPWR I will be at ctac
I'm supposed to be if my ABS is ready@@steve_c1
@@2THPWR in video you mentioned the transmission is it still cd?
Yeah, new CD00A with some short shifter and an extended shift knob from amazon@@steve_c1
The z is looking good out there Mike, what was your best lap time on your shakedown run?
1:21s but I was passing cars that did 1:18 easily
Looks and sounds great. Any goals for lap times once you get the issues sorted out?
I’d like to go into the 1:14s. Not easy when there isn’t a ton of power but I think it might be doable
@@2THPWR that’s fast! But I’m sure it’s possible… you’ve been at this for a long time, and Sasha Anis (?) proved that these cars are capable of that. I’m going to get back out there someday with a car. It’s been a few years.
Love the video but I don’t have the time to read your text !
❤❤❤❤
Are you using black duct tape around the hood and headlights for improved airflow?
Yeah to prevent the hood from vibrating in the high speed air and maybe even it’s conceivable it helps seal the front for downforce.
Keep the text for a little longer so those are easier to read.
How would you compare the new APR 250 wing to the old 300? Can you feel a difference?
Hard to say. The theoretical difference is that the 250 is more efficient. Less downforce but less drag. It has to be set up
Bring it down to vir !
What final drive & lsd are you running?
3.9. Cusco RS
Does it feel better? Was all the effort in the latest build worth it?
Feel has little to do with it really. The ultimate test will be if it has faster lap times or better data
@@2THPWR I realize it was a shakedown day, but generally you can tell if it has a faster lap in it. I am looking forward to see how the lap times improve and where they improve. It would be cool if you compared some old data with new data when you get enough to make a good comparison. Thanks for doing these videos!
@@bt619x I think it’s marginally faster in a straight line as evidenced by higher top speeds achieved despite braking earlier. The suspension and weight have been improved. I think as soon as the ABS is fixed and I have some seat time it will be quicker. How much? Hard to say. It’s not “night and day” different than the past.
Best pound for pound 350z there is??? I’d say that’s debatable when comparing to Sasha’s 800whp electric assisted 350z but even before it was electric assisted it was putting out around 500+whp n/a. Not knocking down on your 350z because it’s also an amazing build, especially still being a DE
Are you still rocking the stock Brembos??
Yes
@@2THPWR Baller. I'm impressed with how well they're holding up.
Btw, I've got a Link G4X PNP and I've not had any issues with the ABS. I could be wrong but I don't think the ECU intervenes in the BDM, which handles ABS/TCS etc.
@@2THPWR Is it worth those over the Akebonos? I'm still with the base single piston calipers.
@@irresponzible good info
@@alexcheetah79 both are a good upgrade. I haven’t tried both independently. I initially went brembo because they were cheaper, lighter, parts seemed more plentiful, and I imagined performance was about equal. I upgraded from the single pistons as well.
