An early variant of a blueprint project for a high crossing capacity heavy tank with a new configuration scheme. Developed in 19471948 by L. S. Troyanov. This vehicle was to feature a low four-track engine, mounted on longitudinal beams that also served as fuel tanks, considerably reducing the chance of fire. These solutions provided high crossing capacity and survivability the tank could continue moving even with damaged tracks. The placement of the hull above the suspension allowed for a large fighting compartment, and as a result, increased ammunition and an improved autoloader mechanism for a high rate of fire. A functional prototype was manufactured in 1948.

Just to clarify, because many ask always is this the tank or overall damage record.
The overall damage record is played with a trashbarn (15,3k damage) 2 or 3 years ago, the second highest in a regular tank is 14,6k damage in a M48 Patton.
This replay is the world damage record for the Object 279 only ehm early.^^
Technically there are also some games with around 20k damage, but those were due to server issues. So there might be some players out there that have such values written in their stats, but obviously those records are not "legit"
@Racernator De Yes thats true, i saw some days ago a 20k game but almost all was offline. Even this game i uploaded is maybe not a real record game but we have no API from WG with real damage stats, so we have to take what we have, uploaded replays.
And tbh its better this way, because this way we see its a real record game and not just a "setup of friends" or server fail.
Impressive situational awareness as well: he had enemies coming from two sides, still managed to race from one end to the other in perfect timing to face a lower count of opponents. Wasn't surrounded until the very end - and even then knew which opponent to take damage from. Kudos!
Some just don't know where to shoot it...
They had a plan at the end to deal with that obj but it didnt work out altough it could. The main thing is why theres a lot of players who just accept the loss instead of fleeing away to get at least draw.

People count the badges on the left side? They aren't medals and most are rather worthless
We count it as medals like replays do because its easier, but the real name should be "achievements".
The medals are also divided into medals and epic medals and it makes it even more complicated, that's why it's common to say medals or achievements in general.

2:38 as the 279e facing down like that, it undermines its armour. All they had to do is go further back and shoot the lower side of the hull, just above the tracks. Instead, the noobs shot this tracks expecting... i don't even know that they expected to happen. This tank is not OP (maybe a bit) but if you don't know how to pen it after long time being out, it's on you, not the game.

Вопрос к разрабам, почему когда пробиваешь картон фугасом то критов почти нет, хоть всю бабаху разбери фугами, проверено. А когда фугас взрывается на броне не пробив её и нанеся ничтожный урон то обязательно крит модуля или экипажа?

This is why I play mostly mid tier. No way I'm gonna spend hard earned cash on any premium tanks, so that means I won't be competitive in upper tiers. WG gives me enough low and mid tier premium tanks to keep me well supplied, so why waste real cash?
This tank like the chieften at t10 are somewhat OP depending on the map and the positions they take, if you get a low tier battle like this one is just a walk in the park for tanks like this. Other thing is that the amount of bots and "noobs" ( not the say other word ) is just something else. Not saying that the replay had "noobs" but the lower tiers help on the lack of penetrations on thr tank.
Yep, alot of this replay with just bad players sitting infront of him not knowing what to do. He played well, but most of it was the tank and the mm he got with it

every 2 days there is a world record you surprise me 9000 damage block when it's not 14000 or 26000 as I saw on average after game when we do nothing he we block between 3000 and 4000, it becomes a real disgust to play I leave more money, and now when there is a 279 I desert live, fed up with the foutage of mouth.

Damage is almost the same like Chief, but way better than the following VK and 260, both reward tanks too. They are both "279/Chief" above all other tanks without a doubt.
Короче противник стабильно стрелял в гусеницу, а это давало очень слабый урон. При этом автор стрелял по люкам и выбивал стабильно больший урон.
This tank is too overpowered
not as overpowered as this video makes it look, literally perfect mm with really dumb enemies. other than the char they all went in 1 at a time and just sat in front of him. also the char and emil rushed their shots at the end. when 279 turned to shoot the even 90 at the end emil somehow missed. all he had to do was either wait and shoot side of turret or face hug and shoot down into hull with heat. their 50b and tortoise were terrible shots. and he also got very lucky with some of his snapshots especially considering he wasn't using vents or stabalizers

The last 2 enemies were so dumb... He had 11 hp, char should just go 60 kmh and hit him, when he was shoting emil II.

This tank is not as overpowered as everyone think. This tank is not easy to play and if you meet average player who know what is gold ammo he penetrate you with 80% of shells

THIS... this is part of the reason why I lost interest in the game... I am so mad of the lack of balance in WoT, even if it wasn't perfect before it was this bad with the current beta... Laugh if you want, but I regret WoT before EBR + Obj 279e and Chieftain meta... tier X is completly fucked atm (I also regret the fact that there is only 2,5 lights "playable" in WoT... (EBR... and I am french..., Manticore and LT100 those 2 seems fair tanks but EBR)

Low Iq people? You mean the average wot player. As a super unicom I met those players in every match. Good players make other players look bad. Thats what you guys fail to figure out. The usual « I never have this kind of match up » is the best example of this.
