I fully concur with this. Even as a kid...regardless of how young I may have been...I never found seeing characters suffer to be funny. Even the characters I hated. Like, when characters suffer in shows, I tend to just wince and just let it happen and not really react, and just wait to get to the good parts again.
Jessica Francis as a kid, I actually questioned why SB thought that Sandy was saying she can breathe underwater. But yeah I just never found Sandy's treatment funny, or the ending where she got arrested for a dumb reason. And when she got harassed by the townspeople, I felt uncomfortable. And i'm still wondering why she got arrested. They are okay with having a guy in the background COMPLETELY NAKED but they arrest a squirrel for having no fur but having some clothes over it. The writers at some point started thinking that kids are dumb(until Stephen Hillenburg made more of an impact in season 9b) but they were wrong. I know I'm just expanding my point but yes I'm glad I'm not the only person who didn't really like this as a kid.

I guess if you see it as the show got better after season 7 dug the hole as deep as possible, and 8 started getting better. Not by a lot, but it was gradual
A pal for Gary frustrated me as a kid, when I wasn't even fully "aware" that an episode of spongebob could be bad. If a first grader could detect a problem that they didn't want to detect, then sure as hell there was a problem.

Tentacle-Vision- Pretty forgettable, don't know that it's memorable enough to be really bad. Annoying and loud, but not really worth comment at any rate. Give me 'As Seen On TV' instead. I ❤ Dancing- This is a decent little ep, nothing great but still solid. Squidward does get his comeuppance, which is nice. It's cute, if fairly unremarkable. Growth Spout- This is a very nicely done episode. I like how sympathetic Krabs is here, it's well-constructed, if imperfect. Stuck in the Wringer- Hoo boy. This one is pretty hard to watch for me, it's unjustified torture for SpongeBob in the most grotesque way possible. Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy- This one's just... stupid. Not awful enough to be interesting, just boring and stupid in its 'conceits'. The Inside Job- This episode is AMAZING. It's actually like an improvement over season 1's 'Plankton!'. The treatment of SpongeBob's brain is hilarious, and the whole thing is creative and well-handled. A top-five best for the season. Greasy Buffoons- I actually love this episode, I find it hilarious and all the characters are extremely likable. I love the treatment of the grotesque side of fast food, and it's just a solid vehicle for all the main characters. Model Sponge- Eh. It's alright, I suppose, just forgettable. I like the reference to 'Suds' in the end, but I just don't remember that much. It's decent enough. Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful- This one is piss poor on so many levels. Boring, forgettable, and such a tired plot. Why even try to make this an environmental episode when it's just generic Squidward torture? Geez... A Pal for Gary- Yeah, it is really bad. It's just... ugly, and murders SpongeBob's likability. Stupid writing, and an awful message. However, I don't hate this one quite as much as most do... sheerly because the action is legitimately well-paced and exciting, however unjust the payoff is. And I'll give them credit... I've never seen anything quite like Fluffy's evolved design.
When I was younger, when I always watched the ending of Someone’s in the kitchen with Sandy with my Grandma. I always questioned if Sandy was being arrested, but my grandma always told me that they were bringing her back home and taking plankton to jail. Season 6-8 feel like a Spongebob reeboot. Say what you want about "Dumped" and "I'm with Stupid". At least they feel like the worst episode of spongebob. "A pal for Gary" and "Once coarse Meal" feel like the worst episodes of a rebooted Spongebob.
The Polish dub for a pal for gary is a million times better, because they edited the dialogue to where spongebob tells PUFFY FLUFFY to put GARY down. While idk about the rest afterwards, that alone makes it much more bearable.

I've honestly never thought that Season 7 was THAT bad. Still not good, but i think it's a bit better than Season 6. The good episodes are better and i think that season had mostly worse episode. I think people just like stuff like OCM overshadow the rest of the season. Still, it's not very good.
Spongey444 i disagree, season 6 has sandcastles in the sand, suction cup symphony, krabby road, overbooked, not normal, no hat for pat and single cell anniversary whereas season 7 has a pal for gary, big sister sam, keep bikini bottom beautiful, stuck in the wringer, someones in the kitchen with sandy, yours mine and mine, rodeo daze, you dont know sponge and trenchbillies just to name a few, its HARDLY just OCM that makes season 7 so hated
to be honest I hold " I Heart Dancing" in high regard because of the fact its one of the very few post movie squidward suffering episodes that actually gets the trope right, that and it was overall entertaining and a well made episode

I love Greasy Buffoons! My favorite part of the episode was when SpongeBob keeps trying to tell the health inspector about the grease food war and Krabs and Plankton just shove him in a trash can and kick him off a cliff. That had me laughing so hard 😂😂😂
Okay, here's an idea for a Spongebob episode, Spongebob is playing outside with Patrick, and Squidward gets annoyed, so annoyed, Squidward punches Spongebob, but Squidward punches Spongebob in the head so hard, he dies, Squidward starts to cry, and than he's arrested for murder. Squidward is than sentenced to death row, than he dies, and goes to Hell, and the Devil tortures Squidward. Squidward after a bunch of torture admits that he didn't mean to kill Spongebob, and askes if there's a way to bring Spongebob back to the Bikini Bottom, the Devil mentions that Spongebob is in Heaven, so the Devil gives Squidward a pass to Heaven, and Squidward finds GOD Neptune, and finds Spongebob, who doesn't want to go back to Bikini Bottom, because GOD Neptune treats Spongebob better than pretty much anyone else in his life, Squidward apologizes, and Squidward makes up for it by playing Spongebob's game, AKA, Hide and Beat Up, AKA, it's like Hide and Seek, but you beat up the person for five minutes, if Squidward wins, than Spongebob will ask GOD Neptune for a pass to Bikini Bottom. Squidward losses, again and again, with creative hiding spots, which Spongebob finds, however, than Squidward thinks, where would Spongebob not look, than he thought, a replica of Spongebob's house with Spongebob laughs. From there, Squidward wins, Spongebob gets a pass, Squidward's ready to go back to Hell, but GOD Neptune give Squidward the pass for doing a good. From there, they are back to Bikini Bottom, and that's the end. I think I've written a better Squidward torture episode than most of these writers of Post Movie, Pre Second Movie.
I just love Jem’s silly expressions on his avatar. Especially the raised eyebrow, it’s so good. Reminds me a lot of the face (named face) that Nick used to have as sort of an introduction to an episode.
Ever time I went to my grandma house my cousin lived there so we would play and watch sponge bob but it would always be session 6,7,8 and I watch someone in the kitchen with sandy and I was so upset because I felt bad for sandy. And I watch a pal for Gary and I wanted to throw something at the tv but I kept it chill. I am so glad I am not the only one
I actually don’t mind Greasy Buffoons, while I know a lot of people hate it, I like it because of Spongebob’s character. He acknowledges the conditions of the customers and eventually makes a stand once he sees Patrick get hurt because of Mr. Krabs and Plankton’s competition, potentially risking his job by calling the Health Inspector. Because of that he is nowhere near as idiotic as he is in other episodes of this season which is why I like this episode, Not the best episode though.

Jem's Reviews is one of the reviewers that inspired me to become one too so here are my reviews. I really wish he came back, *WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO HIM?!* 😢 Tentacle-Vision: This is a good idea, it could've had potential but instead, it turns into yet another torture episode cuz of course they fucking did one cuz they hated him the most for some reason around this time. Eventually the majority of the main cast butt in in the most one note ways possible and the episode ends with Squidward getting kicked out of his own show while the rest turn it into his house party, not even allowing him to sleep anymore. Also, Zeus is supposed to be cool? Nah, he's annoying and he doesn't even start out with a guitar. I like the joke at 4:12 and Patrick making his own charming variation of the "bed goes up, bed goes down" joke from The Simpsons season 4 episode Homer's Triple Bypass but that's it, this is a pretty awful premiere, my least favorite premiere of the entire series as a matter of fact. I would actually change the channel to watch House Fancy instead of this! 2,5/10 I ❤ Dancing: Squidward did something to deserve his torment here, now that's more like it! SpongeBob shuffles through music tracks to play in his head, that is so relatable to me! I also find it funny how there's a bit of Big Pink Loser sprinkled in when Squidward angrily stomps through the floor and SpongeBob does the same thing. I mildly ❤ this episode as well. 7,6/10 Growth Spout: Mrs. Puff has a badass moment when Krabs tries to steal her..... Living peanuts? Also pickled urchins, what the fuck? The episode also has 2 charming fake-outs, the cops actually giving Krabs a ride home and SpongeBob talking about a sleepover. This is one of the best Mr. Krabs episodes in my opinion. I mean he is my least favorite character but he does certainly have his moments, like every other character and this is one of them. My fondness for this season is growing! 7/10 Stuck in the Wringer: An episode about SpongeBob getting stuck, isn't that just a wonderful idea? It starts off with SpongeBob singing annoyingly and it only gets worse from there! "Well I'm a little stuck--" "Oh stuck, I can help with that! There you go, now you're stuck forever!" Too much nautical nonsense again! Patrick even tries to downplay it, he's so awful here! I know he gives him the spirit to work like in the pilot but like, he still doesn't bother actually helping him. SpongeBob gets hurt at the carnival which gets him to snap and he says what Krabs said to him," I think you've helped quite enough today!" which is another awful line. The others at the carnival shame SpongeBob for... Having a bad heart even though they must have heard him talk about the forever glue and the episode ends with a terrible moral and Patrick's line "Should I get the glue?" *despite the fact that he actually said that the glue was a dumb idea not even a minute ago!!!* This episode is actually worse than I remembered! At least Spunch bop videos make fun of the scene where SpongeBob accidentally squirts mustard on Squidward's eyes, claiming that the mustard is his pee but yeah this is in my top 10 worst episodes of the entire series list no doubt! The writers were STUCK with a deadline too short and they had to finish 50 episodes within the deadline! 0/10 Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy: Someone on the development team must've thought that Imitation Krabs is better than Band Geeks during this season cuz they made a lot of knock-offs of that episode. Plankton starts off the episode with a flawed plan; he expects SpongeBob to throw a fresh Krabby Patty out of the Krusty Krab but, obviously, Sandy ordered it so we get another gross out scene which leads to Plankton passing out, absolutely wonderful. This then leads to his second plan, disguising himself as Sandy to get the formula. How, you may ask? She... Took her fur off... during a shower. That's really stupid. The other characters who see him act really stupid too, his disguise works way too well! Especially on SpongeBob! "You can't be serious." "As serious as a shark attack!" They did not watch Spongeguard on Duty before rushing to make this shitshow. "The gooey freshness that is the Krabby Patty patty!" Oh god, SpongeBob, it's greasy, not gooey, why would you call it gooey-- ah fuck, they're even saying gross stuff now!! Eventually she gives Plankton what he deserves but she gets arrested. This episode is amazingly atrocious, it has even more out of character moments than the previous episode, wow, truly terrible. This episode makes me wanna grab a kitchen knife and commit die! 0/10 The Inside Job: Another Plankton fails episode but thankfully, this is one is SO MUCH BETTER. It starts weirdly tho, a fish takes his son to the Chum Bucket to... Admire how filthy the place is. Karen wants Plankton to stop slacking off so she gives him the idea to absorb it from Krabs' brain which is a pretty smart idea but he accidentally ends up inside of SpongeBob, leading to a bunch of comedic mishaps, my favorite of them being Krabs yelling out the formula to temporarily deaf SpongeBob, like c'mon bro, others might hear it from outside the office! Plankton eventually ends up failing to get the formula from his heart so Karen sends him back, during which he bumps into Patrick which reduces his brain to nothing and it freaking pops, that's gotta hurt. What a good episode. It's rather comedic and it has some pretty cool visuals. One of season 7's hidden gems! 7,3/10 Greasy Buffoons: The Krusty Krab's grease trap is full so SpongeBob dumps all the grease to the back of the Chum Bucket and he has to do some illegal driving away from the cops to get rid of the grease and Krabs must've taught him to not panic while driving the truck off-screen. This is a decent portrayal of fast food restaurants. I have noticed how much grease Burger King burgers have although... I believe most of the flavor comes from the ingredients as opposed to all the grease. I think the episode ends on a funny note with Patrick saying "Crunchity munchities!" which is a funny name to a fast food menu item and chasing SpongeBob. This episode is greasy sweet. 6/10 Model Sponge: Oh great, a misunderstanding episode... I already wasn't a fan of Le Big Switch where he kept cooking patties and for the most part, they repeat that lame joke for the most of this episode but it does pick up when he gets the audition to be used as a sponge in a TV commercial. Hanz, the big hand from the intro uses him to clean the nasty bathroom and the voice actor for Klaus from American Dad voices the director which is a pretty cool surprise. I also like how the very end of the episode has a talking hand using a toilet. But aside from those... The episode is lame. SpongeBob is as bad of a model as Eggman in Sonic 06! 2/10 Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful: Having a character say "Nothing can ruin my good mood today!" is nothing short of a recipe for disaster! After Squidward gets destroyed by a piece of gum, he throws it towards a cop and cuz he didn't see the gum on the ground before he reached it, he sentences him to community service and cuz he's the depressed punching bag (ok maybe not depressed *yet),* the blind bastard keeps popping up, thinking that he's still littering cuz others keep screwing him the fuck over while he's not looking and keeps sentencing him to community service!!! It also turns into another Squilliam episode. There is supposed to be a statue of Squilliam but it has no unibrow, that is such a bad animation error. Later SpongeBob comes to mess things up too, wonderful. There is one scene where he trips a kid over to steal his wagon and put trash on it so that time his punishment is a little justified but he should have asked him nicely to borrow his wagon and tell him what's going on and the wagon was literally his only option and SpongeBob GREETS THE WOMAN WHO BEATS THE SHIT OUT OF SQUIDWARD, BRUH, this is where the episode gets truly infuriating! The cop gets extra obnoxious from this point too!! SpongeBob also puts the trash under Squidward's house cuz on that very day the dump is closed, what the flying fuck?!!! Other than the pretty funny scene where Squidward yells in the gum and Squidward's trash statue melting Squilliam's statue, this episode is filthy, awfully repetitive and PAAAINFUL! The writers should get sentenced to community service for writing terrible episodes like this! 0,1/10 A Pal for Gary: Actual human beings actually wrote this episode. That is genuinely unbelievable. If you want a perfect example of how bad the show got during its middle seasons, this is it. SpongeBob's character really went down the shitter with this one. And not only that, the idea is clichéd and bottom of the barrel. This is, no exaggeration, my second least favorite episode of the entire series and I am really surprised that one HD episode way later on actually managed to surpass this episode. 0/10

One time I was at the doctor. It was a two hour wait, but there were two TVs in the office. One played Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful and A Pal for Gary back to back. The other had a Disney Channel sitcom with an actor I’m 99% sure was Jake Paul. Pick your poison kiddos.
I liked this episode a lot, and it’s a Spongebob/Squidward torture episode done right. Squidward tries to literally tire Spongebob to death with no remorse and gets the exact punishment in the end and it feels satisfying in the end (unlike Artist Unknown). A lot of the jokes land like “Who put you on the planet” and when Spongebob riding the cane like a horse. Also unlike Artist Unknown it doesn’t have a sad gloomy feel for most of the episode and it isn’t til the end where Spongebob actually gets affected by Squidward’s torment. That’s how you do mean spirited jokes: have the victim feel unaffected for the most part or have the person doing it get punished for it immensely. This episode gets both right and is an underrated episode that’s as good if not better than some Pre Movie ones (not to mention miles above its kindred in Season 7). 9/10 episode!

And i'm still wondering why she got arrested. They are okay with having a guy in the background COMPLETELY NAKED but they arrest a squirrel for having no fur but having some clothes over it. The writers at some point started thinking that kids are dumb(until Stephen Hillenburg made more of an impact in season 9b) but they were wrong. I know I'm just expanding my point but yes I'm glad I'm not the only person who didn't really like this as a kid.

Tentacle-Vision- Pretty forgettable, don't know that it's memorable enough to be really bad. Annoying and loud, but not really worth comment at any rate. Give me 'As Seen On TV' instead.
I ❤ Dancing- This is a decent little ep, nothing great but still solid. Squidward does get his comeuppance, which is nice. It's cute, if fairly unremarkable.
Growth Spout- This is a very nicely done episode. I like how sympathetic Krabs is here, it's well-constructed, if imperfect.
Stuck in the Wringer- Hoo boy. This one is pretty hard to watch for me, it's unjustified torture for SpongeBob in the most grotesque way possible.
Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy- This one's just... stupid. Not awful enough to be interesting, just boring and stupid in its 'conceits'.
The Inside Job- This episode is AMAZING. It's actually like an improvement over season 1's 'Plankton!'. The treatment of SpongeBob's brain is hilarious, and the whole thing is creative and well-handled. A top-five best for the season.
Greasy Buffoons- I actually love this episode, I find it hilarious and all the characters are extremely likable. I love the treatment of the grotesque side of fast food, and it's just a solid vehicle for all the main characters.
Model Sponge- Eh. It's alright, I suppose, just forgettable. I like the reference to 'Suds' in the end, but I just don't remember that much. It's decent enough.
Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful- This one is piss poor on so many levels. Boring, forgettable, and such a tired plot. Why even try to make this an environmental episode when it's just generic Squidward torture? Geez...
A Pal for Gary- Yeah, it is really bad. It's just... ugly, and murders SpongeBob's likability. Stupid writing, and an awful message. However, I don't hate this one quite as much as most do... sheerly because the action is legitimately well-paced and exciting, however unjust the payoff is. And I'll give them credit... I've never seen anything quite like Fluffy's evolved design.
I don't think seasons 6-8 are as bad as people say. Sure, they look really bad compared to the previous seasons, but they're not THAT horrible

Season 6-8 feel like a Spongebob reeboot. Say what you want about "Dumped" and "I'm with Stupid". At least they feel like the worst episode of spongebob. "A pal for Gary" and "Once coarse Meal" feel like the worst episodes of a rebooted Spongebob.
The Polish dub for a pal for gary is a million times better, because they edited the dialogue to where spongebob tells PUFFY FLUFFY to put GARY down.
While idk about the rest afterwards, that alone makes it much more bearable.

I love Greasy Buffoons! My favorite part of the episode was when SpongeBob keeps trying to tell the health inspector about the grease food war and Krabs and Plankton just shove him in a trash can and kick him off a cliff. That had me laughing so hard 😂😂😂
Okay, here's an idea for a Spongebob episode, Spongebob is playing outside with Patrick, and Squidward gets annoyed, so annoyed, Squidward punches Spongebob, but Squidward punches Spongebob in the head so hard, he dies, Squidward starts to cry, and than he's arrested for murder. Squidward is than sentenced to death row, than he dies, and goes to Hell, and the Devil tortures Squidward. Squidward after a bunch of torture admits that he didn't mean to kill Spongebob, and askes if there's a way to bring Spongebob back to the Bikini Bottom, the Devil mentions that Spongebob is in Heaven, so the Devil gives Squidward a pass to Heaven, and Squidward finds GOD Neptune, and finds Spongebob, who doesn't want to go back to Bikini Bottom, because GOD Neptune treats Spongebob better than pretty much anyone else in his life, Squidward apologizes, and Squidward makes up for it by playing Spongebob's game, AKA, Hide and Beat Up, AKA, it's like Hide and Seek, but you beat up the person for five minutes, if Squidward wins, than Spongebob will ask GOD Neptune for a pass to Bikini Bottom. Squidward losses, again and again, with creative hiding spots, which Spongebob finds, however, than Squidward thinks, where would Spongebob not look, than he thought, a replica of Spongebob's house with Spongebob laughs. From there, Squidward wins, Spongebob gets a pass, Squidward's ready to go back to Hell, but GOD Neptune give Squidward the pass for doing a good. From there, they are back to Bikini Bottom, and that's the end. I think I've written a better Squidward torture episode than most of these writers of Post Movie, Pre Second Movie.

Ever time I went to my grandma house my cousin lived there so we would play and watch sponge bob but it would always be session 6,7,8 and I watch someone in the kitchen with sandy and I was so upset because I felt bad for sandy. And I watch a pal for Gary and I wanted to throw something at the tv but I kept it chill. I am so glad I am not the only one
I actually don’t mind Greasy Buffoons, while I know a lot of people hate it, I like it because of Spongebob’s character. He acknowledges the conditions of the customers and eventually makes a stand once he sees Patrick get hurt because of Mr. Krabs and Plankton’s competition, potentially risking his job by calling the Health Inspector. Because of that he is nowhere near as idiotic as he is in other episodes of this season which is why I like this episode, Not the best episode though.
At the same time though, the customers were stupid.

Tentacle-Vision: This is a good idea, it could've had potential but instead, it turns into yet another torture episode cuz of course they fucking did one cuz they hated him the most for some reason around this time. Eventually the majority of the main cast butt in in the most one note ways possible and the episode ends with Squidward getting kicked out of his own show while the rest turn it into his house party, not even allowing him to sleep anymore. Also, Zeus is supposed to be cool? Nah, he's annoying and he doesn't even start out with a guitar. I like the joke at 4:12 and Patrick making his own charming variation of the "bed goes up, bed goes down" joke from The Simpsons season 4 episode Homer's Triple Bypass but that's it, this is a pretty awful premiere, my least favorite premiere of the entire series as a matter of fact. I would actually change the channel to watch House Fancy instead of this! 2,5/10
I ❤ Dancing: Squidward did something to deserve his torment here, now that's more like it! SpongeBob shuffles through music tracks to play in his head, that is so relatable to me! I also find it funny how there's a bit of Big Pink Loser sprinkled in when Squidward angrily stomps through the floor and SpongeBob does the same thing. I mildly ❤ this episode as well. 7,6/10
Growth Spout: Mrs. Puff has a badass moment when Krabs tries to steal her..... Living peanuts? Also pickled urchins, what the fuck? The episode also has 2 charming fake-outs, the cops actually giving Krabs a ride home and SpongeBob talking about a sleepover. This is one of the best Mr. Krabs episodes in my opinion. I mean he is my least favorite character but he does certainly have his moments, like every other character and this is one of them. My fondness for this season is growing! 7/10
Stuck in the Wringer: An episode about SpongeBob getting stuck, isn't that just a wonderful idea? It starts off with SpongeBob singing annoyingly and it only gets worse from there! "Well I'm a little stuck--" "Oh stuck, I can help with that! There you go, now you're stuck forever!" Too much nautical nonsense again! Patrick even tries to downplay it, he's so awful here! I know he gives him the spirit to work like in the pilot but like, he still doesn't bother actually helping him. SpongeBob gets hurt at the carnival which gets him to snap and he says what Krabs said to him," I think you've helped quite enough today!" which is another awful line. The others at the carnival shame SpongeBob for... Having a bad heart even though they must have heard him talk about the forever glue and the episode ends with a terrible moral and Patrick's line "Should I get the glue?" *despite the fact that he actually said that the glue was a dumb idea not even a minute ago!!!* This episode is actually worse than I remembered! At least Spunch bop videos make fun of the scene where SpongeBob accidentally squirts mustard on Squidward's eyes, claiming that the mustard is his pee but yeah this is in my top 10 worst episodes of the entire series list no doubt! The writers were STUCK with a deadline too short and they had to finish 50 episodes within the deadline! 0/10
Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy: Someone on the development team must've thought that Imitation Krabs is better than Band Geeks during this season cuz they made a lot of knock-offs of that episode. Plankton starts off the episode with a flawed plan; he expects SpongeBob to throw a fresh Krabby Patty out of the Krusty Krab but, obviously, Sandy ordered it so we get another gross out scene which leads to Plankton passing out, absolutely wonderful. This then leads to his second plan, disguising himself as Sandy to get the formula. How, you may ask? She... Took her fur off... during a shower. That's really stupid. The other characters who see him act really stupid too, his disguise works way too well! Especially on SpongeBob! "You can't be serious." "As serious as a shark attack!" They did not watch Spongeguard on Duty before rushing to make this shitshow. "The gooey freshness that is the Krabby Patty patty!" Oh god, SpongeBob, it's greasy, not gooey, why would you call it gooey-- ah fuck, they're even saying gross stuff now!! Eventually she gives Plankton what he deserves but she gets arrested. This episode is amazingly atrocious, it has even more out of character moments than the previous episode, wow, truly terrible. This episode makes me wanna grab a kitchen knife and commit die! 0/10
The Inside Job: Another Plankton fails episode but thankfully, this is one is SO MUCH BETTER. It starts weirdly tho, a fish takes his son to the Chum Bucket to... Admire how filthy the place is. Karen wants Plankton to stop slacking off so she gives him the idea to absorb it from Krabs' brain which is a pretty smart idea but he accidentally ends up inside of SpongeBob, leading to a bunch of comedic mishaps, my favorite of them being Krabs yelling out the formula to temporarily deaf SpongeBob, like c'mon bro, others might hear it from outside the office! Plankton eventually ends up failing to get the formula from his heart so Karen sends him back, during which he bumps into Patrick which reduces his brain to nothing and it freaking pops, that's gotta hurt. What a good episode. It's rather comedic and it has some pretty cool visuals. One of season 7's hidden gems! 7,3/10
Greasy Buffoons: The Krusty Krab's grease trap is full so SpongeBob dumps all the grease to the back of the Chum Bucket and he has to do some illegal driving away from the cops to get rid of the grease and Krabs must've taught him to not panic while driving the truck off-screen. This is a decent portrayal of fast food restaurants. I have noticed how much grease Burger King burgers have although... I believe most of the flavor comes from the ingredients as opposed to all the grease. I think the episode ends on a funny note with Patrick saying "Crunchity munchities!" which is a funny name to a fast food menu item and chasing SpongeBob. This episode is greasy sweet. 6/10
Model Sponge: Oh great, a misunderstanding episode... I already wasn't a fan of Le Big Switch where he kept cooking patties and for the most part, they repeat that lame joke for the most of this episode but it does pick up when he gets the audition to be used as a sponge in a TV commercial. Hanz, the big hand from the intro uses him to clean the nasty bathroom and the voice actor for Klaus from American Dad voices the director which is a pretty cool surprise. I also like how the very end of the episode has a talking hand using a toilet. But aside from those... The episode is lame. SpongeBob is as bad of a model as Eggman in Sonic 06! 2/10
Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful: Having a character say "Nothing can ruin my good mood today!" is nothing short of a recipe for disaster! After Squidward gets destroyed by a piece of gum, he throws it towards a cop and cuz he didn't see the gum on the ground before he reached it, he sentences him to community service and cuz he's the depressed punching bag (ok maybe not depressed *yet),* the blind bastard keeps popping up, thinking that he's still littering cuz others keep screwing him the fuck over while he's not looking and keeps sentencing him to community service!!! It also turns into another Squilliam episode. There is supposed to be a statue of Squilliam but it has no unibrow, that is such a bad animation error. Later SpongeBob comes to mess things up too, wonderful. There is one scene where he trips a kid over to steal his wagon and put trash on it so that time his punishment is a little justified but he should have asked him nicely to borrow his wagon and tell him what's going on and the wagon was literally his only option and SpongeBob GREETS THE WOMAN WHO BEATS THE SHIT OUT OF SQUIDWARD, BRUH, this is where the episode gets truly infuriating! The cop gets extra obnoxious from this point too!! SpongeBob also puts the trash under Squidward's house cuz on that very day the dump is closed, what the flying fuck?!!! Other than the pretty funny scene where Squidward yells in the gum and Squidward's trash statue melting Squilliam's statue, this episode is filthy, awfully repetitive and PAAAINFUL! The writers should get sentenced to community service for writing terrible episodes like this! 0,1/10
A Pal for Gary: Actual human beings actually wrote this episode. That is genuinely unbelievable. If you want a perfect example of how bad the show got during its middle seasons, this is it. SpongeBob's character really went down the shitter with this one. And not only that, the idea is clichéd and bottom of the barrel. This is, no exaggeration, my second least favorite episode of the entire series and I am really surprised that one HD episode way later on actually managed to surpass this episode. 0/10

I never despised episodes but some of these episodes made me feel weird while watching when I was younger
I remember when I was younger seeing Puffy Fluffy lunge at the screen actually scared me. But then again I was kind of sensitive.

One time I was at the doctor. It was a two hour wait, but there were two TVs in the office. One played Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful and A Pal for Gary back to back. The other had a Disney Channel sitcom with an actor I’m 99% sure was Jake Paul.

I liked this episode a lot, and it’s a Spongebob/Squidward torture episode done right. Squidward tries to literally tire Spongebob to death with no remorse and gets the exact punishment in the end and it feels satisfying in the end (unlike Artist Unknown). A lot of the jokes land like “Who put you on the planet” and when Spongebob riding the cane like a horse. Also unlike Artist Unknown it doesn’t have a sad gloomy feel for most of the episode and it isn’t til the end where Spongebob actually gets affected by Squidward’s torment. That’s how you do mean spirited jokes: have the victim feel unaffected for the most part or have the person doing it get punished for it immensely. This episode gets both right and is an underrated episode that’s as good if not better than some Pre Movie ones (not to mention miles above its kindred in Season 7).
9/10 episode!
