I'm Australian and have a Scottish mate that lives around the corner. I can understand him about 90% of the time. It's just when he gets really animated that the words run into each other, and I have to nod along.

I love this. I lived in England for 3 years and got the chance to travel to Ireland and Scotland. My hands down favorite memory is being in a pub is Scotland and getting absolutely knackered with a bunch of Scots, but by the end of the night I couldn’t understand a single thing that was said….😂

Listen, as much as we don’t understand fuck all about the Scottish language…it’s still one of many of the most hilarious accents on Earth, especially when Scots banter with one another in the most creative ways possible just like anyone else across the pond whether you’re an Englishmen/woman, Irish or any other sub-accents.

Im a Scot living in England. Took my English girlfriend to my home town to meet the family and she couldnt understand a word any of us were saying.
Dude, I know the feeling well. I have a girlfriend who speaks a similar language to mine... They're basically as similar to each other as Portuguese and Spanish. And for the most part my girl and I speak our native tongue and understand each other well. The day she met my brothers she couldn't understand a thing since the accents were switched on😂😂😂😂😂

I was brought up half an hour away from Drew and worked away from home too. We dont realise how quickly we speak and how gruff/aggressive it sounds. Normally I hate guys who lose the accent but Drew gets a pass because a/ genuinely his career depended on it and b/ because he really wouldn't give a shit what I think and would beat my opinion back into me. hahaha that's what I say too. Wish he didn't soften his Rs as much, it makes him sound a bit pansy SOMETIMES, and doesn't fit with his brute persona. Have to say though, his weird accent is unique and sets him apart from anyone else, and the reality is he's one of the best pro wrestlers in the world. Him, Cody, Orton, Seth, MJF, Stratton, Rhea and Jade are the absolute gold standard, and he deserves it.
