NWO, WCW, Wolfpac, Scot Hall. Kliq... man, so much to talk about.
Love It CVVCLIPS Bro.
I love how he still chokes when he talks about Eddie's passing. That's true friendship man
At least he's got the balls to actually admit that Eddie's passing 2 months earlier was the main factor behind his Rumble win. As I guarantee you Rey was NOT originally booked to be the Rumble winner that year, nor would he have become World Heavyweight Champion at WM that year, either.
As much as he deserves it. I agree. Vince Mcmahon could never wrap his head around the underdog winning.
Well, anybody with sense about the wrestling business knows that I mean the fans were calling for it and you know that it was too much of a layup not to do it
We all knew it was coming. The timing was too perfect for him not to win it.
Dude calm down. I highly doubt he needed “balls” to say that as Eddie’s passing created that dynamic for Rey considering how much he was incorporated in the story not to mention Batista’s injury. The crowd loved it. It was a nice feel good moment. Just be quiet
@@jrcrit8843 Why does he need to be quiet? He was just stating a fact.
Rey is still so awesome
Rey is such an underrated wrestler, I dont ever hear people mention him much amongst the greats, but he deserves to be! Every match ive ever seen him in, he works his ass off and always entertains.
Hes pretty much the only little guy who I actually believed could be the WWE Champion, hes just so good that he doesnt need to be a heavy weight to contend and it looks legit.
Eddie's passing gave him a megapush
No sh- what do you expect
1:00 One correction here. They definitely had at least one match after the Summerslam match. It was on Smackdown in a Steel Cage Match where Eddie finally got a win over Rey, and it closed this feud.
They also briefly faced off in a 6 man tag like a month before he passed.
Spot on!! And he was actually going to feud with Shawn Michaels after that
It was also a great finish, with Eddie about to leave the cage and win, instead he chooses to go back, hit one of the best frog splashes ever and pin him.
Legend, my first favorite wrestler
It was such a beautiful moment when rey won the tittle
This guy has to be one of the most humble and self aware people in this business.... Makes me very exited for Dominics career with him being raised and guided by this man...
Eddie and Owen's passing hit the hardest, my opinion.
My Legendary Childhood GOAT Rey Mystreio
Rey Mystreio is One of Favorite Mexican Wrestlers of All Time
Eddie gave him a blessing as friend 😊
My Legendary Childhood GOAT Eddie Guerrero
I thought his last match was in a cage match because atfer that that's when he moved towards Batista.
Rey and Jeff winning world championships I’m glad I got to see it 🙏🏾
To this day, Eddie’s passing is the one that hurts me the most as a fan. I didn’t catch his work in ECW but I watched all of his stuff in WCW and WWF. He was dialed into fans and he felt like a member of the family based on that connection. I remember Eddie was being setup to feud with Batista and it was off to a great start because they kinda planted the seeds that Eddie was still a heel but he was doing all of his classic “lie, cheat, and steal” babyface stuff. Honestly, his heel turn on Rey was some of his best work in WWE and I was really interested to see how his program with Batista would play out. I always thought he was going to eventually become a mega heel after proving his act with Batista was just to get close to him and then win the World Heavyweight Championship. Imagine heel mode Guerrero versus Shawn Michaels from that era. It would’ve been great! I was always a Rey Mysterio fan so I enjoyed his work but I thought WWE did a horrible job with him as world champion. He got a good push but his booking was too weak and even though he was much smaller, they leaned into that stereotype way too much. They should’ve used creative ways to make it look like he outsmarted his opponents and used his speed.
As a litttle kid watching it i didnt know anything other than my favorite guy was winning the rumble and the world title and it was cool to me especially with the story of doing it for eddie
Mysterio saying that his last match with Eddie was at Summerslam
Meanwhile the Steel Cage Match on Smackdown is sitting in the corner crying
THANK YOU!!! I’m glad this started off with the fact that the #2 spot is the same as the #1 spot
Rey is so humble. His inring skills are second to none. Hes one of the last men of his era still in the ring putting on stellar matches!
You are to humble Rey. You would have gotten the belt eventually. One of a kind talent
I respect Rey for his brutal honesty. And he deserved that belt regardless of Eddie's passing. Wether here or in the afterlife, Eddie's proud of you sir. And you are one of the greatest of all time.
RIP Eddie and thank you Rey for everything!
this makes me respect him even more, if possible. wrestlers never tend to admit these things when they're clear as day
The last time my parents ever let me ordered a ppv
Until i discovered live streams
Rey won a rumble, won a championship and had a clean win against HBK because of Eddie's passing.
Edit: I made a mistake in Eddie's name. Sorry.
Who's Eddy?
Crazy Eddy?
Ha.
What titles has Rey never won in his glorious career
A blessing from Eddie
No way it would of happend without Eddie least he can admit it I respect that
Sorry Rey but your last match was a steel cage match on Smackdown that he was finally able to get a win over you, the great Rey Mysterio! But y'all had an awesome rivalry that was definitely unique and timeless. love you both!
Minor fact check: They did have another match after SummerSlam. It was a cage match in September on an episode of Smackdown. Eddie won.
Mysterio is a GOAT 🐐
Rey won the rumble Won the world title because it was a feel good story whether we like it or not that was the whole thing it was to make the people feel good and of course he would go on to win the WWE title on an episode of Monday night raw and would have agreat career because obviously WWE saw he was more than just a cruiser weight but Eddie dying. It was started it all off.
I still feel bad that Cena came back and beat Rey the night he became WWE champion. I'm a Cena fan but that was messed up.
Should have done that Match at Summerslam.
2003 Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels beg to differ on the number 1 spot and number 2 spot being the same
LWO
Three things one it’s sad and unfortunate that Rey Mysterio needed Eddie Guerrero to pass away to be the title picture because if people want to admit it or not, he was never ever gonna be world champion or even get that opportunity. I don’t ever wanna hear people talk about size, Mysterio has never ever had a size advantage for anyone he’s ever been in the ring with third if you’re going to criticize people from other companies about his wrestling style and how he helped popular rise it then you’re literally shitting on Mysterio legacy
#2 has more time to warm up
But the match literally doesn’t start until BOTH are in
@@hiderryce1861 talking about backstage, #1 has to make an entrance first.
@@klsecond5755 I don’t that really makes that much of a difference
@@hiderryce1861 any possible difference because they are the same
I disagree. I thought he'd win the 06 Rumble around Summer Slam.
People don't wanna say it but Eddie passing was the best thing that could've happened to Rey's career, he would've banished like another Kalisto/Sin Cara without it.
Stop deleting the comments ffs
This is a massive stretch. Even Before Eddie's passing Rey was already one of the most popular guys on the roster. People like Sin Cara or Kalisto wished to Have that popularity, you should watch some shows from 2002 to 2005 and you will see it. That being said, we will never know if Rey would Have eventually be' world champ or not , surely it was not planned in 2006 . This doesn't mean that down the line he couldn't Have had a run, even a short one , you know as a career prize . It was done Before, it was done after. Why not with Rey? I Believe he would Have had a run eventually
Eddie Guerrero will always be the legend of lying, cheating and stealing the wins
RIP Latino Heat
People don't wanna say it but Eddie's passing was the best thing that could've happened to Rey's career, he would've banished like another Kalisto/Sin Cara without it.
No, he would not. He was a fan favourite and the most popular wrestler among children even before Eddie's passing. And WWE was going to turn PG anyway which would have still be a godsend for him.
What are you talking about? For someone his size, Rey had a STELLAR three years in WWE before Eddie passed. You're gonna make that claim just because they're all masked luchadors? So that makes them all the same? Not even close. Sin Cara had drug and attitude problems which is why he didn't last. Kalisto himself at least had a bit of a midcard push. But Rey was a megastar the minute he stepped into WWE because of his past accomplishments, his work ethic, his ability to connect with the fans, he was marketable, and he had a boatload of supporters behind the scenes. Nothing was ever gonna "banish" him.
I think banished is way too far. He obviously probably never would’ve won a rumble but I’m sure much later in his career he would’ve been world/wwe champion.
Leave drugs alone dude Rey was super over
@@pikppa Kalisto was also a fan favorite and as talented
