    Morning from Az, Jim,
    This subject tugs at my ❤️. For me… and for so many here that are looking for help with fear. I work on levels 1 and two together most times. And I was just reading on the web site about “ extinguishing fear”. Its so clear that this drives the whole process yes? Symptoms.. anxiety attacks etc. My last couple weeks went into that loop of symptom( dizziness, like yours Jim) anxiety….. more symptom, more fear, more symptom, etc. I became more unstable, more housebound, and had many of the thoughts you mention here.
    I think this is where a really experienced Therepists , support at home and encouragement really helps. I do have a Therapist I can afford, (🙏), but I also rely on Anxiety Center self help to teach me.
    Along with my prayers to God all week about fear. Just that one word…. Fear.
    Thank you for being here Jim,
    AND Anxiety Center.

    Very informative about the basics.
    When I used to tell my mum about my dizziness fatigue and pain she used to say you have lost your confidence that's all.
    I never used to understand what that meant

      @anxietycentre  Před 2 lety

      Akathisia is a very common symptom of anxiety and hyperstimulation. Almost everyone who suffers with anxiety disorder gets that. I had that a lot back when I was struggling with anxiety disorder. You can read more about that symptom here: www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-disorders/symptoms/anxiety-akathisia/#prevalence

    Become afraid of them never going away and pain

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  Před 2 lety

      That is a common fear. Thankfully with anxiety symptoms (which are symptoms of stress), we can eliminate them by reducing stress and for long enough. Therefore, there's no reason to fear they will never go away. Moreover, we can also lose our fear of pain. Many people deal with chronic pain issues and still live wonderful lives.

    I have a question sir I was diagnosed with Generalized anxiety disorder if I decide to take antidepressants and get therapy I can't overcome my disorder if I take medication?

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  Před 2 lety

      You can make good progress while taking medication. However, complete recovery requires being medication free so that you build complete confidence in your recovery skills, knowing that they are sufficient to sustain good physical and mental health no matter the challenges you face. Many people who rely on medication don't have that confidence. Therefore, there is a high likelihood of rebound, since more than half of people who take anti-anxiety and antidepressants go back on at some point. Having complete confidence in your natural recovery skills prevents that and insulates against rebounds.

      @@anxietycentre this is hard decision for mi because I've seen a couple of psychologists and psychiatrist I was diagnosed with chronic symptoms of pain for muscles tension GAD and migraines and fevers and can't concentrate and short memory loss because of my anxiety disorder and I was told that I have to take medication to build a baseline where I can start doing therapy yo I can understand my skills and tools to make a recovery and right now I don't know what to do Jim .

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  Před 2 lety +1

      We hear that a lot. Unfortunately, that typically doesn't work out so well in the long run. If it were me, I'd focus on stress reduction, regular deep relaxation (which can reduce inflammation and neurological pain signalling), working on your anxiety issues, and giving your body time. Developing natural skills will serve you much better over the long term than medication.

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  Před 2 lety

      Chronic muscle tension and pain are common anxiety symptoms. In an online poll we conducted, about 75% of respondents said they had chronic muscle tension and pain as an anxiety symptom. As you can see, it's more common than most people think.

    • @anxietycentre
      @anxietycentre  Před 2 lety

      Yes, it all sounds common. The cause is not so much as subconscious but more about ongoing stress coming from anxiety underlying factors. We list many of the common underlying factors in Chapter 7 in the Recovery Support area.
