- Black Swan is about to Make the DoT Meta in Honkai Star Rail Broken and this is a great thing. She is potentially not only one of the strongest DPS characters in the game, but also making her way up to a top tier support.
Black Swan is the first 5-star Wind Nihility character arriving at the beginning of v2.0 in Honkai Star Rail and she's bringing some incredible damage & support to the table! Once again we have a limited Nihility unit that holds some insane damage potential by herself, but goes even further than that by being the FIRST character to have nearly 100% DEF Reduction! This is TOO GOOD for almost every character in the game, but most importantly the DoT style of characters like Kafka, Guinaifen, Sampo, and more. The meta has been slowly shifting away from pure Hypercarry these last few patches and Black Swan helps push that agenda even more.
Black Swan, as a new 5-star character does everything any F2P player who focuses on DoT damage would want, but can be useful for other DPS characters like Dr. Ratio, Himeko, and Topaz too. Is it worth skipping Black Swan for Sparkle/Hanabi?

in my opinion kafka was always a dot support uint but she didnt have a 5 star comparison until black swan so now we know
now i know why arcana (or previously sacrament) has a previous cap of whopping 99 stacks, some madlad finna reach 99 in no time
Sim uni is gonna be a breeze if 99 stacks is released, especially in dlc with bunch of buffs

Yeah it’s a shame, I got a ps5 and couldn’t play before 1.5 so it was impossible for me to get it, knowing that they’re including Qualities of Life that genshin doesn’t have I expect them to give for free a r5 event lightcone for anniversary

I normally don't spend on HSR, but I was so ready to swipe for Black Swan to get both E1 and her LC. Game surprised me by giving me E1 without built up pity before I even swiped though (First BS after 40 pulls, then E1 after 20 pulls)... now I'm just trying to get that LC.
i have her e1 and sig and she did 155k to the deer boss single target who isnt even weak to wind (in moc 12) she does insane damage and the fact that the big nuke happens on the enemy turn its actually not as bad as it sounds its fun stacking up stacks blowing them up and then the enemy turn comes up and you just nuke them. cant wait to run her in sim uni

A Using her a support for my Dr. Ratio and she is inceasing my Dr. Ratio damage like like crazy. I also have E1 Ruan Mei on the team. Black Swan and E1 Ruan Mei defense shred is crazy
I have always been a hunt/destruction main. Black Swan is my first dot dps. Something about her made me want to pull for her. Her personality and how she presents herself maybe. Got her and her sig. lc. Im very excited to build her and my other dot units. Its a nice change of pace from the destruction/hunt meta 💜🖤
What is the gameplay in the back getting from?
You can also use tingyun e6 ult and huohuo.
Primarily focusing on using skill points for tingyun/bs energy, you can ult oncd per cycle on bs.

I am currently using Black Swan, Serval, Ruan Mei and Fu Xuan. Is my team comp okay? Or should I replace Serval with another DOT?

Sadly i had to hit pity so i cant get her lightcone but i did manage to snag a e1 ruan mei so would her light cone still be as valuable on a rerun

Same here. You can use either Guinafen, Sampo, Tingyun or Asta.
I found Asta to be best as she buffs the team but also has a dot on her basic attack.
plus Asta with Dance Dance Dance lc really helps the teams speed

My Kafka E2S1 and Sampo E6S5 are cracked as well. Still farming for Black Swan tho. I got lucky on my BS Summons since she’s E1 from the free 10. 🥰 I haven’t gotten Misha yet but I’m thinking of getting her LC maybe. 😊

Nope since arcana can't work full potential

If u want Def shredder...just use pela

It is if you want her, bu if you jus think she'll be strong prolly best not to, remba, she has def shred an alot of it, shes great wi acheron fo example, not necessarily the best bu shes absolutely great too, she definitely is able to be a upgrade to pela, thing is is tha worth a pull?
So, if we have Kafka, Huohuo but no black swan... Who should be used to replace Ryan Mei? The video says Tingyun but it seems to be for the team without Kafka?

Asta or pela i will say, you can even try to go with 3 DOT, kafka/black swan/ Guinaffen or sampo, i have not tried yet but sampo can trigger her arcana if E4 and Guinaffen with her ult while having a support debuff with firekiss.
You can always slap a resolution light cone, the 4 star nihility that decreases defense in any of these third dot options.
Fu Xuan for sustain or additional debuffer - SW, for example. Or just Bronya

How does one get 120% ehr? I was only able to get up to 85 with her traces and +12 relics. :(
One of those light cones I recommend in my video will take care of the rest.
the sig or sampo lightcones, or you need to run a EHR body piece, or just plain god rolls on substats which is very less likely to happen.

Ruan mei (to procc kafka's FuA) > black swan (skill) > kafka
@@pinkinglily6447Actually from all of them huo huo is best going first, you get more heals because faster, you trigger kafka talent with no need to use a talent point for ruan mei at the start of battle so she can skill.
I think huo huo > ruan mei for skill > black swan > kafka.

Got her just now :3 Can't believe I actually won 50/50 for the third time in a row, I didn't even farm much because I had little hope but here she is! Yay! Nihility in SU is gonna be even more fun now! I just love seeing enemies taking turn only to disintegrate from all the dots on them. Which is why I don't really care setting her up with Kafka. I don't mind taking more turns, it's more fun this way.
Kafka is for endgame where every turn counts, not SU

The variation I showed in the team section of this video. There isn't a "best" option after Mei. It's either you want to use Asta for party buffs or Tingyun for energy & semi-perma ULT uptime.

Some of the footage is zoomed in to avoid showing certain things on screen or because it fits the aesthetic behind my edits. The guide is less about showing the exact DMG number though (since there are clips within the video that show the higher DMG numbers that I left in on purpose). Your DMG wouldn't be my DMG, hypothetically, but as long as you follow the concepts I explain, you could get that DMG or even higher.

It can work, but Asta doesn't replace Mei at all. You gain the ATK + SPD which is awesome, but they aren't dishing out the same support in the same caliber.

Im currently using asta instead of ruan mei, she's a damn good replacement for the same role since she provides tons of speed and atk, along with fire dot which can further increase arcana stacks

I would not recommend this, but if that's all you have then it works. It's not horrible, but you are missing the DMG % from that orb + Mei, which is worse.

13:56 is the future meta.. I don't think Luocha and HuoHuo is enough..
I think in the future they would add a Nihility unit that heals other units through debuff... that would be the ultimate final Dot Build.
Luocha at most is going to be used on endless runs where survivability is important and HuoHuo prob most for 1 turn comps.
I love the "natural" kind of slow ramp up DoT playstyle, but for one I gotta be saving for Robin and Sunday (and lord knows sparkle and aventurine are gonna test me) and for TWO I don't have kafka and hate her playstyle... If only I had whale money...

Sampo E4 gives a mini Kafka DOT explostion if Arcana stacked to 5+ because Arcana is counted as a Wind Shear so a Sampo/Swan is a valid option to rake if you dont own a Kafka
Great Video! The BEST thing with DOT Damage is that you can Totally ignore Crit Rate/DMG completely which is the Most Toxic Stat in ANY game! ;-)
Meanwhile im literally crying over here, cuz kafka didn't come home BOTH times! First back in the day when she first came out i lost the 50-50 and again just now right before her banner ended i LOST again! Its depressing... The universe is telling me no kafka no black swan for me! Roar! Wish i was rich i would've paid for kafka and black Swan! They're both so hot too!

Well, the issue here is that I don't have Ruan Mei since I stopped playing and came back in 2.0. She is in every single team comp for every character. I feel so bad for not having her now :)

I would add that if you can only get her LC or her E1; the latter is actually better overall. And if you are going for Eidolons you either stop at E1 or go E6

Dont know 100%, we need more information for it, probably youtubers will start testing her, though if i am being honest this lightcone looks one of the most broken yet, the def shred is really big, and from HSR websites theres already a big difference to f2p options.
Sig LC compared to any other option is like uh... a 20% difference in overall value? But you don't "need" it. S5 Eyes of Prey works just as well, and then the other LC options I provided have their own uses too. Just comes down to what you're looking for and willing to do.
There are many good Nihility lightcones but the gap from them to her signature lc is massive. Compared to other paths like Destruction, there aren't many good options.
I really think Gallagher is gonna be a DOT healer. Maybe his healing heals you off of DOTs detonated like that one sim uni blessing. Just a wild guess

I'm still building her and kafka but my luocha and Ruan Mei are cracked out so team's almost done.
fyi preservance has 1 cone with fire counter(dot)attack effect
Btw, since BS ult makes it "count" as all normal dots, you can make kafka and gui ults detonate arcana. So make sure you use BS ult first. Look for the green numbers
Arcana itself is already considered Wind Sheer afaik, so it should trigger it, and so does Sampo e4
i got kafka, ruan mei and black swan just cuz they were hot and now i can make a functional team with them, although i do i have to build all 3

Yup yup. They won't perform the same roles, but Asta is still strong in her own right.
I got her in 30 pulls. I was insanelly luck (the game finally rewarding me for e1 himeko and e2 gepard). I don't know if her light cone is worth it, because getting it I will loose guaranted in sparkle
Build of Sanpo/Guinaf if we dont have kafka ?
Same build as the others, 4x prisoner for all DoTTers, atk% chest, spd boots (reach at least 135 spd) planar set glamoth with elemental dmg% sphere and atk% rope, search atk% and effect hit rate on subs
For guinaifen you can use simulated universe lc, sampo his sig (eyes of the prey) or fermata is good too
For this two in particular you can switch the atk% rope with break effect one, on substats too

Guinifen is a good replacement for Ruan Mei because of her fire dot increasing the stack speed of arcana and the global damage multiplier she provides and the ult stacks arcana as well.
Idk about all of that… She’s great on a team with Swan, absolutely, but a replacement for Mei? I can’t go that far.
It’s a shame he didn’t cover a team with kafka but no ruan Mei. I started playing after meis banner so i didn’t get the chance to pull on her 😅 still, swan looks really fun to me and I’ll probably pull for her
