So regarding Shae, she like does covers of ghazals mostly, and she did cover of Ali Sethi's song which got sent to Ali Sethi and I think it was more of Ali's hand that she debuted. And yes all that looking down was genuine, she is not even trained so you can imagine the pressure.
P.S just watch Shae's reaction of listening this song on release on her insta I promis it's as beautiful as this song.
Coke Studio is on fire this season, thanks to Xulfi and his team. Completely shaking up the music scene in South Asia. Wait till you hear the next one, Ye Dunya, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Spot on about the set! In the BTS, they explained it is that veranda from the old Lahore lifestyle, where everyone gathers in the evening. So, this set is like, all the artists come out of their spaces and gather at the centre to convey the message of love through their art

The mandolin player looks like he's stepped out of an old Mughal miniature painting. For me the vibe was that of a troupe of travelling artists jamming together before they go perform in the kings court. Wanted to see more of Sheemajis performance and the group of male dancers. All the artists did a wonderful job and its changed my mind about the new format

Loved this reaction. Song is amazing. Just saw the reaction of Shae Gill and some of her friends on the release of this song. It's as good as the song is.
It’s always fascinating to watch your reactions to Coke Studio songs. There is such keen attention to detail, like noticing some flowers on a wall in the background or a singer not looking directly at her fellow singer, coupled with such incredible insights into the music and the videos. Laymen like yours truly end up learning a thing or two about how professionals experience the very same music videos differently.
In the case of Pasoori, I should tell you though, your reaction isn’t going to be complete until you have watched the endearing (and for Jyoti perhaps tear-jerking) video of Shae Gill and her siblings (I presume) reacting to Pasoori.

I cannot think of more beautiful modern Punjabi ballad. Epic production and arrangement. It has crashed into my top 20 of all time favorite Pakistan CS tracks. Shae Gill...wow what vocals. Imagine if this song had the backing of a 100 piece symphonic orchestra.
I love the set too, the diversity it just organically roots into our culture. It imagines a meeting place of all these "misfits" who are becoming more and more invisible because of this wave of homogeneity our countries are gripped in.
I don't know if I explained it well, but I felt really represented, and I want this place to exist, where all us people can live and vibe.
