Idaho is wild! We live in Washington and my 21 year old son was driving through with an ounce of pot. He was pulled over for a taillight out and was looking at 5 years in prison. We were fortunate because we were able to get a really good lawyer.

Pretty much anyone in Idaho prisons is in there for drugs just so you know. This state and its laws punish drug users and “rehabilitate” sex offenders. It’s a pathetic and worthless justice system that ruins alot of people’s lives. If you come to idaho on vacation you will leave on probation.
Tbf if you go to Idaho for vacation, you deserve as much.

@@Scorpiobw compared to other states our murder rate is substantially lower than most states, you must have seen those 4 college students murdered on the news to say that. Most of our incarcerated people is related to drugs. Period. While Oregon next door is raking in cash from weed, where over 6,000 people a day make the 45 min drive to get, it is still a criminal penalty in Idaho. It’s truly pathetic how Idaho is run.

@@Unfiltered_POV I live on the Oregon border 😂 Can confirm that all the license plates in the dispensary parking lots are from Idaho. I’d take the Idaho laws over Oregon. There’s basically no punishment for having or using hard drugs. As far as I know it’s a $100 ticket, or promise that you’ll go to rehab. It’s lead to crime increasing across the state.

My son is in Idaho prison. Idaho is crazy hard on small crime. My son got 10 yrs because his girlfriend drank a bottle of vodka and went to the hot tub by herself while he was watching his favorite football game of the year while in a hotel. After 15 minutes he went to check on her and found her passed out. When he did the herculean task of pulling her 250 lb body out of the above ground hot tub she got bruised and they charged him with aggravated assault. He stupidly went for a Judge trial. The prosecutor and judge obviously colluded without his attorney present. He is up for an appeal next month and hopefully gets a new jury trial.
Prison is a perfect example of how security, fences, barbed wire and walls don't keep out contraband 🤷🏼♂️ All it does is monopolize the market for the people keeping them locked up 🤦🏼♂️

Can yoh imagine sitting in jail for like 7-8 years (and ruining your whole life) because you got drunk and didnt want to get a ride? Of all the things you could go to jail for DUI seems like the dumbest because its just so easy to avoid.
Not when the limit is below what it takes for most people to be drunk, and when they are drunk... Well how many stories have you heard of a drunk making a good decision? I'll wait. Dumbass. How can anyone go to jail for rape? Murder? Stealing? Doing MOST things that put you in jail are equally dumb.
If your first time offender and have a good lawyer I know people that only gotten 2 , 3 or 4 yrs.
@user-bb4xk6bb7nxxx that's not true. My state has a mandatory minimum for your second offense of 120 days( 4 months) you can get out in 3. The 3rd one is mandatory minimum of one year. You can get out in like 9 or 10 months if you complete programs.

Aggravated DUI is any dui after ur first one. It becomes a felony. You don have to hit anyone or anything.
In some states it’s when you refuse to submit to breath testing. Could be on your first.
