Almost reminds me of Kyle Ranner run with the ION willpower ENTITY. Then he effectively let it go. As he felt he was losing his humanity. Hopefully they let John Stuart keep this power.
I think they will let him. John was worried he would lose himself at first but the Source told him that's only a problem if he chooses to let it corrupt him.
Bless You! For talking about this one. John Stewart like Monica Rambeau are literally top 100 best superhero characters of all time. Now let’s put some respect on another two top 100 characters “Vixen” & Black Lightning.
If course Stewart is the strongest Lantern. He's an architect which makes his constructs stronger, he's a trained sniper which makes his aim better & he's a marine which means if it came down to fisticuffs he would beat him up.
Also love the brief explanation of his attention to detail in this issue. Really brought it home how his mind has always focused on the finer details.

Hell yeah Ernie. I've been looking forward to this ever since you mentioned it on the Blerd cave. John Stewart is the Green lantern I grew up with the most and it's partly why he's my favorite. John is going to have his hands full dealing with a angry, revengeful mother. Even though he wasn't the one who killed her son. Wait...He absorbed Darkseid's omega beams?! That's incredible but how is that possible?
He's connected to the Source now so he's got power for days now. I bet it has to do with how he's still technically a Guardian. His mind was wiped of it but he never truly lost the power either.

In Dark Crisis, Pariah trapped the Justice League in different realities to use there powers, and we got ether a one shot or a back in someone else's one shot to see each of those realities, we see John's in Word With Out A Justice League: Green Lantern, this is where the universe we're seeing explored in this series was introduced, and while our John took the place of that universe's John, he kill the Revenant Queen's son, and that way she so made at our John

Seems like they gave the Revenant Queen Orange Lanturn powers but with a black lanturn theme. Not really unique so far. However i am up for giving John something to do

@@BlerdWithoutFear I hear you. It's really hard for me to hate zombies, and honestly I am hoping they have some real unique ability such as phasing or something so it is a genuine threat and not just some fodder type constructs. That would actually be really exciting

I kind of burn out on Green Lantern stories due to the fact it's almost always about either upping the maximum of their powers or destroying their powers and they've gone to those wells too many times. But if they're going to it again I'm glad it's Stewart getting the boost.

It sounds like John's become a cross between Marvel's Wonder MSN and Carol Danvers Captain Marvel?! And I'm here for it!!! He's without a doubt my favorite Green Lantern , which says a lot because Hal Jordan held that spot over 20 years.
I think you definitely need to go into the New God concept regarding Jon and metahumans on earth. That story was interesting regarding the new gods and why earth is so populated by metahumans 👌🏿
Jon has always been the superior GL to me since Justice League unlimited but I’m glad the writers are recognizing it 😂

@BlerdWithoutFear personally I think there needs to be a new status quo for the GL and all Lantern Corps. Something that changes the landscape. Make Kyle a white Lantern again, do some cullings let's really shake things up
I've always found it odd that Earth is (to my knowledge) one of the very few planets to have so many GLs at one time as opposed to the norm being one lantern to a sector let alone to a planet. Since the GLs are space cops and sector 2814 has like damn near 10..that kinda makes the Earth the PJs(the projects) of the galaxy. And that makes me smile 😂...God I love this channel.
He’s one of the most powerful superheroes right now but not character because there are so many other characters and cosmic entities so just say superhero or mortals.

A few things the specter gets his abilities directly from God and the phantom stranger was Judas Iscariot. Well the phantom stranger does have some liabilities. The specter gets his abilities directly from GOD.
Also the fact that Jon Stewart didn't get killed by the attack from darkseid when it would kill everybody else means that they're just kind of altering reality for him for some reason which to me makes absolutely no sense.
So if he can take on the power of God and I guess he's the most powerful being.
Although I don't think they're saying Hal Jordan is the most powerful Green lantern because of the power that he wields but rather because of his morality individuality in general to always do the right thing no matter what

Again I like John because he definitely has more depth at his core, but it isn't fair to throw out him being more powerful now when Hal is nowhere near even his normal base self. I mean he can't even leave Earth right now with his ring.lmao (I love Hal too so I feel torn right now) I don't even need like John has much reason to have all this power as if he is gonna be the main Green Lantern. As it stands he is more like....the most important side character in the story if that makes sense.

These power ups that they gave John kinda seems they go against the whole point of the Green Lantern Corps which was willpower based, while these powers just seem like they gave John the Power Cosmic, so I’m not really a fan.

John Stewart is calculated and professional in his actions. Before he got the ring he was a marine and an architect.
Hal Jordan is like the tidal wave of unstoppable force, compared to John Stewart being an unmovable mountain.
Facts. Hal is good. For sure. But John is a whole other type of guy. There's a reason he's been both a Lantern, a Guardian, and a leader of the Corps.

Instead of a hotshot like Hal, viewers were treated to a more reserved, professional GL and the series was better for it.
