Justice League (1987) was the first time I saw Guy. At first, I hated him, but I read stories that showed he had a full personality. I like Guy a lot now.

Terrible casting. Gardner's supposed to be this loveable a hole who's a athletic quarterback in his 30s, Fillion is not only too old but I don't see the charisma that he can nail Guy's attitude.
Got all the issues of Guy as a Red Lantern and it really made me enjoy his character.

Guy is under rated. Being a product of the 90s, my favorite version was Guy with Sinestro's yellow ring.

I remember reading The Death of Superman storyline. It was in that comic that Guy was wearing the Yellow power ring. He was among the heroes trying to stop Doomsday. I was already a fan, but him holding off Doomsday made me respect him a lot more considering he’s human and Doomsday is Chaos incarnate.
I know this is a hot take but Guy is my favorite Green Lantern, I know Hal, John and Kyle are better written but Guy is my personal favorite to read his cockiness, goofy attitude and hotheadedness never fails to make me laugh

The Guy Gardner comic run was so much fun, with Lobo and Sinestro, and his Vuldarian heritage (I think that was it). I loved his run in JLI and his relationship with Ice was a beautiful thing. He was a likeable dickhead. I loved the Batman one punch too, and the fact he woke up with a new personality.
When Kyle Reignor came and became the only Green Lantern, Guy drank a possion like substence that gave him shape shifting powers and he became known as Warrior for 10 years.

I believe that Guy would be the perfect Lantern to bring back the Blue Lantern Corps after the fall of Saint Walker. He never gives up hope, always striving even in the face of certain death, like in Dark Knights Metal when he and Jo were about to take on a massive army without any known back up. He just stood steadfast and was ready to hold is own. Yes, he has an incredible amount of Willpower, but Guy as a Blue Lantern would be great IMO.

Guy has always been one of my favorites. He's like the Dusty Rhodes of the Green Lantern Corps. He was more of a true representation of the average man .
I've always thought he was one of the best of the GLC . Unlike Hale , Guy never broke under the pressure. He's bent a few times but never really broke.

You forgot to mention he has wielded the star-sapphire(love) and blue(hope) lantern rings briefly during the green lantern brightest day event, IF I'm not mistaken 🤔

The Blue ring was during the Future State event, but yeah, only rings he hasn't worn are Orange, Indigo, Black, and White. Third most for a character I believe behind only Kyle and Hal.
I'm just happy Nathan Fillion is going to be him.

One of the best green lanterns imo especially when wielding a red lantern ring he was unstoppable highly recommend reading the darkest night storyline

Nathan Fillion has been Hal Jordan on multiple occasions as his voice in movies from Emerald Knights to Justice League War. It will be weird for me to hear Hal's voice as he plays Guy Gardner.
First time seeing Guy in action was Batman Brave and the Bold. Didn't know too much about him and was kinda confused at the time, since I'd mainly grown up with John Stewart thanks to Justice League, but he proved to be a fun and entertaining character, especially in the Blue Beetle comics where he showed up as a supporting character for Jaime.
They did a one shot , I want to say the Future End series, where Guy ends up as a Blue Lantern. He is able to form constructs without having the corresponding green. Guy, after going through almost every ring, realizes that all of the rings are partially fueled by hope\belief.
If you know Nathan Fillion as Cayde-6, you know he’s gonna be better than comics Guy Gardner.
I was first introduced to Guy Gardner Green Lantern in the Green Lantern animated series outside the comics who's well respected by the other Green Lanterns and the Guardians while making Hal Jordan Green Lantern look bad
I was introduced to Guy Gardner thanks to Batman The Brave And The Bold and I love James Arnold Taylor voicing him he did a great job.
There needs to be a storyline with Guy Gardner pulling a Thanos, acquiring all the rings !
Then an interesting comic story where Guy gardner is Dc,s Thanos having all power rings in the Dc universe and become another White lantern much like the other lantern corp member Kyle⭕⭕.
Really hope for all the Lantern Corps being introduced one after another in the DCU and for it to become the anchor of the COSMIC side of the DCU!! With Thanagar, Lobo etc. adding to it!! 🙏🙏

@@cuavo. yeah i saw all the hints etc. and that it's nearly 100% save but nothing has been officially confirmed so i wait for that. maybe one of the announced projects of chapter 1 is a solo movie for Momoa as LOBO?! Pretty sure the Terrifics could be one of those projects! :)

Some things to mention:
- Gardner discovered the secret of Sinestro's ring when he wore it: It is charged by contact with the energy from a green lantern ring. So when fighting Green Lanterns his ring will always be charged.
- Booster Gold made sure that Hal was chosen as Green Lantern rather than Guy. Originally, Guy was chosen over Hal because he was closer, but Booster (who monitors the timeline) discovers that Guy was the wrong person to be Green Lantern due to how events would play out with him as Green Lantern. Due that, Booster travels to the Past and meets Guy in a Diner before Abin Sur's ship crashed. He convinces Guy to visit his dying father in Baltimore, thus Hal was closer and was closen to be Green Lantern.
- The Oan Green Lantern Rings provide complete life support. While wearing a charged ring you don't have to eat, drink, sleep, and it also takes care of bodily functions.
Nathan as Guy is hilarious. They’re both like stock images of their respective industry Lmao. I can hear Nathan’s voice and the douche characteristic of a lantern lol

My favorite Guy Gardner related thing is in the Green Lantern animated series. They make him a big of a douche as always and everyone in universe loves. I feel like that was the the writers making fun of the fans

Guy didn’t ditch the green lantern corps.
He bet Hal Jordan in a fist fight who ever loses quits the GLC.
Of course Hal Jordan beat him in a fist fight. And force Gardner to quit. During the fight, blue beetle referenced the Batman one punch when Hal punched guy and he fell to the floor repeatedly.
Later Gardner ends up getting a yellow ring stealing it from a sinistro corpse. But you know comics somehow sinistro isn’t dead.
I remember that Hal did the rope a dope until Guy punched himself out. John Stewart was wondering what he was doing and why Hal Jordan was taking the punishment until he clicked.

My favorite bit of Guy trivia is from his time leading the Red Lanterns where we get the reveal that he's colorblind
Something I just realized, where did the Earth Lanterns get all of their rings? We know about Alan Scott, Jordan, and Kyle Rayner but I do not know how the rest gets theirs. The interesting thing of Gardner wielding a yellow ring is that the ring was Sinestro's first yellow ring. I want to say the writers mention that the reason for the over aggression is Sinestro, through the ring, was influencing Gardner. Guy has also done a blue ring in a one shot future based comic. During the War of the Lanterns, Guy dual wielded red and violet since the Green Lanterns were being controlled.
Probably one of the best things about Gardner is his connection with the other Earth Lanterns namely Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, and John Stewart. To me, those four were like the Musketeers.

Controversial opinion: Guy Gardner is all time favorite Green Lantern.
Red lantern Guy gardner is an excellent power boost for this Green lantern member, somehow when he was trying avenge his fellow comrade member Kyle rayner somehow a Red lantern appears out of nowhere and now he's able to control Rage and Willpower in one of the comics🦹🦹♂️.

His time with Vuldarian powers was a weird time. He was initially going to be the greatest fighter in DC, even better than Batman, but the brass at DC wanted to cash in on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. So they had the writer give him morphing powers to create weapons from his body.
One of my favorite Guy Gardner stories is that JLI story where, in an alternate universe, Hal Jordan told him that he (Guy) only became Green Lantern in Hal's place and then Guy fought the enemy of that arc to restore the true course of time. I thought that moment to be the inspiration to Hal Jordan's mad drive to restore things to what they were before Mongul destroyed Coast City.

It was later revealed the ring actually chose THREE candidates Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, and CLARK KENT but he was quickly excluded once the ring discerned he was "not of earth".. 😏😁😁😁
So imagine dcu goes for a couple years with the justice league forming and really making traction and then they kill off a character which sets of Gardner forcing him to become a red lantern.. that would look so cool in a live action 😭
