  • Today I take a trip down to Anna Marie over the Skyway Bridge to a Pursuit 355. I replace a faulty water pressure sensor on the Yamaha 425 XTO and update the software on both motors. Thanks for watching.

    So cool to see all those different boats. We don’t have them here in Viking county actually. 🇳🇴And I have to say it makes me happy to see the channel is doing so well. It’s awesome that you are able to send out so many videos regularly. Great job🔆👊

    Hi Justin, always love everything you do. I have a question. I have twin Yamaha 425 XTO engines. I saw on one of your videos you installed some kind of automatic flush unit. What would you recommend would work best with these XTO engines? Doesn't Yamaha make an auto flush device or is it just 3rd party? If so are there any you recommend? I ran across a Yamaha part (12V Yamaha MAR-FLUSH-20-00) it looks like an old reverso unit. Is this any good? Looks like Reverso has gone through 3 revisions. I wonder if they finally got it right now?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Před 2 lety

      I say to flush them the old fashioned way. Its less stuff to break later. Reverso seems to be one of the few that will flush multiple engines. Really up to you😄

    Did you check continuity on the sensor beforehand?

  • @chrisregeis9303
    @chrisregeis9303 Před 2 lety

    I noticed that there were several “Lost Heading Sensor” errors under the Warning Manager when you pulled up the codes on the Yamaha CL7. My boat does the same thing and kicks off the Yamaha AutoPilot. Do you know what the problem might be and how to fix it? Thanks!

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Před 2 lety +2

      The only thing I have done that has fixed the heading sensor issue is updated the gauge software from Yamaha. It helped a 456 Grady that had that problem. I have also heard that the GPS antenna can cause the problem.

      I don't think you can buy it unless you are a Yamaha dealer. I have seen some people sell bootleg versions of it on ebay. Thanks for watching.

      Hi Justin is this a recall issue with 425 engine?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes. All the first generation Yamaha F425 engines have an ECU update. If you call the dealer with serial number you can see if it falls under the recall.

    @brianlb78 Před 2 lety

    So is there an actual recall for this or just something they replace when it goes bad under warranty?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Před 2 lety +1

      They do have a recall for the update on the ECU. Its only for the first run of serial numbers and you would have to call a dealer to check. They usually send out bulletins but nobody ever reads them. Lol

    • @JustinLeeMarine

      You will need to plug into it with the Yamaha software to diagnose it.

  • @The.Norwegian
    @The.Norwegian Před rokem

    I'm a certified Yamaha technician who's been doing this for 12 years, and i've never seen these sensors go bad. I know the old type of plastic sensors were recalled due to water ingress. What caused this sensor to fail?

    • @JustinLeeMarine
      @JustinLeeMarine  Před rokem +1

      They usually get clogged up with salt and sand. You can clean them but when it's under warranty they want you to change them and perform the recall if it's a first generation 425.
