Dang that wedding is popping!!!!đ
Thatâs awesome! I am Hmong myself and Hmong wedding is all about drinking and eating good food! But especially meeting new in laws and making new families⊠from đșđž
I miss this hmong guy, Laos jungle secret guy †congratulations!
Lol turned into a DJ real quick! Love it đ
2:21 Absolutely hilarious!! đ€Ł Mario, you look hungover as all hell. I can't drink like that anymore otherwise I'd be dead to the world the entire next day.
Such a fun unique experience!
Looks like you two had a great time. Hmong wedding usually takes 1-2 days with lots of preparation and cooking and heavy drinking. The majority of Hmong people are shamanism and there are two main tribe, white Hmong and green Hmong, they just speak different dialects but can understand each other.
As viewers, I love the Lao JUNGLE series. Really fun to watch. Make another series/trip for a Lao Jungle with the Hmong.
Love seeing my hmong people. From đșđž
We called that Hmong time cus Hmong people start 2 hours later on every party
They wears non-working plastic watches. Couldn't tell the exact time.đ
Even with working watches, thereâs no such thing as exact time. Lol
Love seeing you guys make videos of my people and you two being a part in it, means alot, at least to me so thank you both and congrats to Ked and his bride, may they both live a long fruitful life and be blessed with endless joy and everlasting love.

thanks for the video. I just recently visited Laos and I had a good time there. They sure do party hard. I remember waking up at 4am and the music was still blasting. I like that they drink beer with ice because I never got a hangover due to all the extra water that goes with my beer. Will def revisit some of the Hmong folks there again.
Thanks for sharing. This is interesting. Greetings from Malaysia. Beautiful traditional clothes.

Love My hmong people! From USA đșđž
Congratulations
Good morning! It is early morning at 1:18AM on Sunday here in San Diego, California. đșđž I got drunk last night at my cousin's wedding myself. I didn't drink much but I know exactly what you were going through after a night filled with drinking. đ€ą I was woken up by a Facebook message from a person in Vientiane whom, I shall remain anonymous for now, you and Olivia know very well. đ She needed help in writing something in English on Facebook for her Aloha/New Year's Celebration clothing wear in front of her beauty salon. No, jokes aside I had to use the bathroom and saw her message. đ There is a 14 hour time difference from San Diego to Vientiane. My throat was dry and in need of some hydration as well. Your DJing skills are pretty good. I love EDM. Litda says you had her dancing all night long with your skills. I have many Hmong friends but oddly enough I've never attended their weddings. đ€ Anyhow, thanks for sharing your traveling experiences with us all. Will try to go back to sleep now. Maybe I need another shot. đ Cheers!
You should give them a present that will help them in a long run like blanket or spoons or dishes and money. And we have two dialects as hmong green and white hmong.
wow congratulations đ đ
If you go to Hmong village you don't have to bring food and do not worry about the Hotel, Hmong let you sleep in their house every night. Hmong people are very nice. I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. when I went back to visit Hmong people in Laos, I am not worry about food and bed
Ked is the Main Character đ
Good đđŒ
Awesome! I'm glad you got to experience a Hmoob wedding. Totally wasted is correct đ
Thanks, it was good fun!
Good for you to joing hmong in lao wedding
Thanks đ
you guy do good thing and good luck ok
Fun wedding
Very awesome. First day is the welcome party. Alot of drinking and having a good time. Second day is more formal. It's the day of blessing and then the big feast, more drinking. đđ
It continued for another 2 days at another location too, but Olivia was too sick to continue partying đ
Thank you for being the dj. Usually the Lao dj there sucks lmao. Itâs great you showing them other styles even though some elders might not like it much đ
Thanks, even the youngsters were a bit skeptical đ
so i'm not entirely up to speed on my hmong culture as i didnt really grow up around a lot of hmong people. but in the last 5-7 years i've been learning. traditionally hmong weddings are complex compared to other marriages from other cultures. typically the brides family has their own seperate party from the grooms party in a traditional hmong wedding. There is usually some sort of dowery that happens within the day of the marriage, usually in private the parents / elders (usually doesnt involve bride and groom) are gathered to dictate costs and responsibilities of the union of these two people, it may sometimes come off as negotiations depending on how serious the situation is. for 80% of the guests for the parties, they are there to celebrate with the bride and groom.
from first hand experience a lot your word is bond at a wedding and toasts are treated fairly seriously as a sign of respect, so you dont want to spill your booze or throw up because some people see it as a sign of disrespect that the groom basically needs a team of people to support him (usually this means the groom should have a few friends who will drink with him in support of or whill take care of him if he gets too drunk / wasted / puking from too many toasts) to not lose face infront of the new wife. if the families are very nice and welcoming they likely wouldnt push drinks / toasts to the groom as heavy because they still want him to be fine during the day of the wedding, if they didnt like the groom the drinking may come off as painful from getting drunk too fast. Towards the end of the wedding a blanket and basket are meant to send off the newly weds who need to stop and basically share a meal regardless of the size of the meal between the bride's home and the groom home. there are nuances again based upon how they value the new groom and if they want to make it a little more difficult with the groom if they didnt like him/family.
but this all depends on how everyone sees everyone. part of the reason these nuances exist is because theres a lot of good luck / bad luck superstitions. once the newly couple have finshed their meal and made it to the grooms home they may have their own party but most of the hard part is done. from my understanding most families do things a little differently even if they're all traditional because almost everything is negotiable and people sometimes operate with grudges because theres so much that people want that they might not get even if its about the 2 people becoming a married couple. the traditional hmong weddings vary but typically have the same idea that it begins at the brides house with her family and ends with a basket and blanket for their journey to the grooms home.
hope this helps explain a few things to viewers in the comment section to learn more about what generally happens. the partying before isnt always the case, but can be. most hmong weddings or life events are very situational and are heavily negotiated so responsibilities can be dealt. this also leads people to cast judgement in favor of or favor against.
Thanks for all the information and insight đ
Olivia, you look smashing in the laotian traditional silk clothing
You should come to my villageđđđ Vientiane province
Your wife laos dresses very beautiful on her.
Hmong wedding is very big. The groom usually has to drink until he passed out and his best man and his helping bodies will take care of his wedding until the end.
Congratulation , secret jungle, â€â€â€â€â€
Love your show...What city was the wedding at?..The pre wedding party looked fun..hahaha

Lesson learn of our people. âHmong Timeâ. When the host say party start at 7AM. No one show up till 9AM. Thanks for blogging our ethnicity and culture. The drunk part looking for a coke was hilarious đ I would have worn some shades looking for a seat right away at the partyđ
Very true đ thanks!
