  • A stuck open thermostat on this Mercedes C230K was causing the car to never reach operating temperature even after long drives. Pretty easy fix and replacing it with this OEM Thermostat - amzn.to/3rhlO0e.
Make sure you have the proper coolant and enough of it - amzn.to/3CZk0vE.
Thats pretty much all you need for this job as the thermostat usually comes with the new gasket.
The car used in the video is a 2000 Mercedes W202 C230 Kompressor.
But this is the same part for most older Mercedes. Just double check your vehicle first.
Next video on this car is replacing both engine mounts!
Some tools used in the video:
    - Milwaukee 3/8ths Impact - amzn.to/3qZX7FP
    - Starter Mechanic Kit - amzn.to/46hRrHe
    - Pro-Lift Heavy Duty 6 Ton Jack Stands - amzn.to/3NSypA1

Hello bro im wondering do i need to drain coolant to replace the thermostat,i just recently got one but i dont wanna drain the coolant

You can drain just a little bit out. Or if you're really lazy, just unbolt the Thermostat and let the coolant drain out on its own. It will spill out however much its needs too, but will make a mess.
It's pretty easy if you just drain about 20% of the coolant into a clean bucket and then refill it.

Hello, is it possible to change the thermostat, but the temperature is good and the engine is hotter than before? Is it possible?

Yes. You likely have air trapped in the system still. Coolant needs to be burped properly.
Worse case you can have a bad new Thermostat. It happens. But it's likely just air in the system

is this the same process on a common w202 with 1.8 engine?
