I love Fush Yu Mang, but Smash Mouth caught on a trend with the ska thing as well. Back in the mid to late 90s, ska was popular. Before Smash Mouth, one of the guys was in a rap group. It's not like after Fush Yu Mang, Smash Mouth suddenly tried to catch onto trends, they've been doing it for years.
smash mouth is getttiiinnnggg me through the hardest time of my life been through in my 34 yrs.....used to it would o been 3 6 mafia cuz i can get my anger hurt out through music i write music so thank u smash mouth oh and this is the mom of that gorgeous lil face u are c ing!!!!!!! lillizzybone
These guys get a lot of hate, but I loved this album and a lot of "Astro Lounge," too. "Stoned" was my fave on "Astro Lounge" I kinda quit listening to them regularly after that. i used to play Fush Yu Mang on the way to school almost every morning my Jr. year of High School. Brings back a lot of memories.
i like all there albums and most of their songs. they didnt sell out either they do what they want and play music because they like too. who cares if they play at disney and shit .
They were also in Rat Race which was one of the best movies ever. Any way most of the people I know who seen Sherk still don't who SM are. Or the Eels for that matter.
@MrStephen182 I wouldn't mind this sound along with their old stuff. Why do they have to completely snub their old hits and style we all love? It might've been cool. ....Beatles had Helter Skelter and Beatles had Imagine. Ballads mix with hard music. Why does it have to be all or nothing? I was just saying I missed the harder sound Bon Jovi had with "Slippery when wet." It's sad when groups ruin it for fans. They each did the opposite and killed what made them special.
@plasterofparisify ME TOO. I loved how their word's especially Greg Camp's always made you think and see things. It's ironic if they're changing to fit in with the fads. I loved "The Inset" and "Shoes N Hats" for saying the exact opposite that following the crowd to be cool wasn't so cool and the Incrowd shouldn't be what you want if its all shallow.
Correction. Astro Lounge ruined Smash Mouth. Fush Yu Mang had great tracks like Flo, Beer Goggles, Let's Rock, Pet Names, Padrino, and Nervous In The Alley. Can you honestly say the tracks on Astro Lounge are as memorable as those on Fush Yu Mang? I certainly can't.
@MrStephen182 Why do they have to completely snub their old hits and style we all love? Are they so afraid if they didn't do all hard songs... .... that the new kids wouldn't like them? Then they have sold out or at least told us they don't care enough to even try and make us happy. :( It might've been cool to see an Amped up version of some of their songs like "I just Wanna See." Or how about a harder rock reggae if they kept incorporating other sounds.....
@MrStephen182 This song was pretty good. It had a nice sound to it, but it's not at all like their old stuff. You can't really make out any lyrics. I really have no idea what they're singing about. I'd have to read em. But I wouldn't mind this sound along with their old stuff. Why do they have to completely snub their old hits and style we all love? It's like they're sticking their middle finger up at their long time fans to get new people. Are they so afraid if they didn't do all hard songs...
man smash mouth is such a great band, ska punk is something i will never stop listening to. hopefully a comeback from them someday.
Smash Mouth were AWESOME before they "found their sound" in Astro Lounge.
This was much better then anything they put out after Fush Yu Mang
I miss old Smash Mouth

his singing holds up well for a big guy
All SM songs rock. And as for selling out well has it made them more famous. Hell no and still as good now as they were when they first started.
🔥

Great stuff before they sold-out to Disney
they didn't sell out to Disney they tried to survive in a pop ruled music industry
@@joenuts7612 Right!
Let’s be honest - their Shrek songs go hard too.
was? WAS your favourite?
as much as I love shrek, that movie ruined this band

Hey look at me I'm repeating the same thing everyone else posted.
Loved them until they sold out. Long live ska/punk music. I guess Shrek and Disney pays better.
