This is why the live performance is so important. Live will always outshine the album if the band is good of course. Some bands suck live, these guys were great.
I believe what you say is true. The part about a good band sounding better live than in the studio. You know what band sounded great in the studio, but had notoriously less appeal live? Steely Dan. Or so I’ve heard from critics.
@@B3burner steely Dan was actually good live the problem with them was they used alot of effects you can only achieve in the studio through multiple tracks, you can't do that live, I'm a musician with a trained ear for stuff like that, and the average listener wouldn't really know that. I don't think the dude was a one hit wonder. One song was just more popular than others. We lost out on some amazing music from these guys because of the studio. But then again we wouldn't have this kickass song if they didn't force them to rewrite the batch they brought in. The world is truly an odd place and I'm glad to have shared it with this song.
People who say they are a one hit wonder know nothing about music. They’re a one hit wonder to them because unless a song is featured in a movie or they sold excess of 100 million they don’t exist. Smash mouth had lots of hits on the radio.

What a classic 90’s tune this is.
Such a great song. An icon
Songs from my childhood.
It’s funny to think it’s got a 90s vibe because despite it coming out mid 90s, I always thought it sounded like the 60s.
the nineties was such a great decade for music.

Can we please appreciated what an incredible sound of that ride cymbal? Also, they sound better live than record.
They were a very sonically aware band. The guitar was also so simple and effective- great tones that were always musical.

Just heard the news that he is in hospice and only has days to live. So sad.
