  • There are SUVs and then there are SUVs; the originals that stay true to their big, body-on-frame origins with motorhome-like proportions and engines that can haul. And after a decades-long wait, Ford has redesigned the Expedition to be more powerful, smarter and more spacious with fuel economy that won’t leave you broke.

    I drove this great car for 19 days straight!! Great experience! All features mentioned in this video were experienced - even the kick open trunk.
    If I had the money I would not hesitate to get it. I currently have the Exp2010 model!!! Drove it up and down hill smoothly.

    one most important thing is missing on this suv - the diesel engine. with that type of gas expense you need to be a gas-station owner. and one more thing, the longer panoramic moon roof would be just great.

    • @noblekitty
      @noblekitty Před 5 lety +2

      Modern diesels are a nightmare to maintain. If you don't plan to tow something heavy on a daily basis, the mpg saving while "towing" vs gas engine will never offset the initial cost of engine upgrade and cost of repair and maintenance. Notice I did say "while towing". If you're not towing, the mpg saving will never pay off the cost of buying and maintaining a modern diesel.

    • @88goga88
      @88goga88 Před 5 lety +1

      @@noblekitty what you mean with hard maintenance?? can you kindly please list several things?? i know "add blue" oil & filter more expensive. other than than i do not know. also "farsonka" (were the fuel injects) must be replaced but it runs several hundreds of thousands of miles. other than that what can be a nightmare??

    • @rico993
      @rico993 Před 5 lety +6

      I think a lot of that comes from increased vertical space in a van. A van's ride height is much lower, but they also have more space from floor to ceiling on the inside. The big body-on-frame SUVs, on the other hand, are still designed to handle their own off road.

    Where's the uncomfortable spot in the Expedition Max? In a Tahoe, the whole 3rd row is the penalty box.

    • @dariuskila
      @dariuskila Před 6 lety +9

      There isn't one. Since the expedition utilizes an independent rear suspension, the 3rd row is much larger. The Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade all utilize live rear axles this the 3rd row sits on the axle causing the tight knees to your chest (the suburban, yukon xl, Escalade esv are a little more bigger due to length)

    • @76carmel

      Well stay in touch once in awhile Gas is climbing rapidly here in California with the average price being $3.90 a gallon for 87 octane. It hit over $4 something for the pricier stuff.
      For the record I drive a Lexus RX350 and it cost me $60 to fill.
      These Leviathan are going to REALLY feel it when gas goes to $5 gallon.
      There will be a crap ton of defaults on these luxury yacht trucks/suv that people signed over 84 month payment for.
      I don't wish anyone to fail but something isn't right in the economy so stay patient and we'll get a great deal in one or two years.

    Lmao 82k ?? I could buy a 2016 for 40k and lift it put 40 inch tires the sweetest shocks and suspension and still be under 75k. These types of SUVs are for people who dont use them as suv's just like the 70k trucks I guess the day of utilization is dead.

    American cars are a real shit at the time of trying to buy.
    In Europe vs USA, we are worse than China. At least they know there is censorship. We when we go to buy at the brand stand, say soon is not possible. I am referring to the SUVs Linconln, Cadillac Escalade, Ford Expedition, Ford f-150, Chevrolet Suburban, Crhysler (new model type SW) ... It is worrying because the sporting type Mustange, Chevrolet ZR, Viper, .... Now, I can. Before, at least he could care not even now. Not even to contact the dealers in the US they say they can not export. There is. Problems exporting shit ???? or problems in the fucking COUNTRIES that do not understand each other but are embarrassing that WE ARE FREE.

    Big step forward for Ford, But let's be honest... Still far behind Chevy & GMC. and a 5,800 lb vehicle with a turbo six. No thank you.
