I lived in district two for two months and travelled everyday (7 days a week) in the company mini van to Ho Tram where we were constructing a large private resort. Twelve hour days working and two hours each way travel, I got to know the roads pretty well! Eventually we moved to a house in Vung Tau, which was a lot closer but still 40 minutes both ways! The worst part of the whole commute was getting stuck some days in the front seat next to our company driver, this would scare the crap out of me with all the close misses and near head ons he would have. You didn’t notice them when in the back talking to the other workers!
Mui Ne is incredible. I spent my honeymoon there. There's so much to see and do if you're willing to travel around.

Good information about taking the train to Mui Ne and back. I was watching another channel where he interviewed people at the airport about Vietnam and one of the Filipino teachers said he's been teaching English for 5 years there. The standards for English teachers must be super low because the guy's English was not great - definitely not up to scratch for someone whose job it is to be hired in to teach kids English. Cannot fathom how bad his English was 5 years ago if what he demonstrated is his ability now! Do you guys filter out people like that? Someone mentioned how you need a college degree and TEFL but that some private institutions may not require a college degree...not that it matters if the Filipino speaks as he does and still gets a job teaching English there!
many language schools just want young pretty people to keep their kids entertained and often the standards for teachers is quite low. I taught there for 4 years and was really shocked. Also they pay "brown" people less money, even if their English is excellent, which is very sad. One can hope that the standards will improve with stricter rules about getting work permits.
@@delfin7461 Sad, indeed. This would explain why so many young kids in Vietnam cannot speak English that well. They would be better off learning from youtube.
@@doodahgurlie oh and the train to Mui Ne is really nice, you go through dragon fruit orchards and if the trees are blooming it's really pretty.
I am Vietnamese and I can explain why some unqualified English teachers were hired for public schools. Most of Vietnam's decision makers in Vietnam they don't have a good knowledge of English. They got their position through their connection rather than being qualified. Corruption is the second reason. Non native unqualified English teachers might give them a bribe to be hired.

Mui Ne looks nice, but you can see from the video it’s not every tourist’s “cup of tea”, and places like Da Nang are more suitable. Thank you for sharing your video. 🫡
Mui Ne is full of drunks and Russian tourists. It's half dirty beach bum area, and half over-priced crappy resorts. The city centre looks like most underdeveloped city centres in Vietnam. Very little to do there, and everything you can do there, you can do in better areas. Yes, Danang is more overall ideal for tourists, especially around My Khe beach and just across the river , but I would recommend Quy Nhon.
Where is this ocean road during the trip? 3.5 hrs on the road.. no way is that the total trip from Saigon to Mui Ne?!
I always took the highway from Mui Ne to Saigon and return. 4-5 hrs. Not a fun drive.
Dalat to Mui Ne has some terrible bumpy roads but some nice early stretches from the hills of the Central highlands.
Tuy Hoa to Nha Trang is a great ocean drive on the main strip of road.
The highway to Vung Tau from Saigon, then along the ocean road from there up to Mui Ne.

This is a video for backpackers who don't know where to go in Vietnam, and have time to kill. He wildly overpaid for accommodations - paying 500k for a hostel or 700k for that dumpy cabin is insane. For example, I took my family of 4 to Phu Quoc Island during that holiday which is an expensive place, and booked an entire modern 3 bedroom villa with 3 bathrooms, huge living room with massive kitchen and dining room with a private infinity pool overlooking the lake for 850k per night. In Nha Trang I rented a penthouse suite at Vinpearl that was as luxurious as it gets one block away from the beach with an ocean view balcony for 700k/night.
But if you're a kid and you don't know or care about the difference between $20 or $50 in value, and just want to run into people on a casual level on a solo trip, then this would be an okay way to do it.
However, it's so easy to get around on a motorbike and visit specific locations but stay in cheaper and nicer accommodations, it's very easy to do it that way.
