    Almost $200k to lease this home for 30 years is exactly why Hua Hin is losing its charm. Let's be real, this home is at least 30% overpriced. The real estate market in Hua Hin has turned into "farang selling overpriced property to other farangs". Sure it's nice to do business with other farangs, but work with a 100% Thai owned realtor for the best deals. Paying at least a 30% upcharge just for the comfort of dealing with another farang is crazy.

      Wasting $200k in rent over 30 years is insane lol unless you have some sort of home business to write off the payments. I just can’t see myself paying that even if I was old enough to retire

      @@Tony-lm5zs Tony, people do it all the time. Home ownership is the American Dream. Plus, if you don't own, you're paying someone's mortgage, and your rent could go up every year.

    Farang can't own property in Thailand, only condos, so not sure what's the point of this

    • @lutherfoust5483
      @lutherfoust5483 Před 3 měsíci

      You are correct. Only Thai citizens can own land. However, Americans et al. can effectively own through a land lease situation. This is the point. You can buy the house and lease the land.

    • @theStacyJames
      @theStacyJames Před 3 měsíci +3

      @@lutherfoust5483 do you actually own the house if you don't own the land and only lease the land? Can you be evicted at any time because, let's say the government just decides to change the laws one day without notice? I guess, more scenario based details would be great

    • @lutherfoust5483
      @lutherfoust5483 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@theStacyJames No, I don't own the house. First of all, I would get a lawyer-a Thai lawyer-to set up the deal. Additionally, I would and do follow lawyers who know the law in Thai ie Benjamin Hart at Integrity Legal czcams.com/video/jeuDRJ3NHxM/video.html

      Foreigners can’t own land so typically a lawyer helps you in that process - makes you have a lease hold on the land for 30 yrs with option to extend it 30 yrs at a time. You can also have a Thai co that buys the property; this is the thing about foreigners owning land & house in SEAsian countries! You can by connecting with a local Thai lawyer ( BKK one will know the ins and outs of how to own) get over the hurdles! Good luck.
      Prices shown are foreigner prices so you should bargain to get local prices usually 25-30% lower.

    Hey sweetie, I think the houses you show are very beautiful and I know several people who love Thailand and would really love to live there!! But that is not possible because they are not married to a Thai partner and/or do not work in Thailand. And then, as I heard, you cannot buy anything in your beautiful country, nor live there. That is an extreme shame because who wouldn't want to live in such a fab country and in such mega beautiful homes??
