    Great review. I love that you talk through everything as a hobbyist not just as a product reviewer. The fact that you understand that nothing is perfect and are honest about the positive aspects and view the negatives in the light of 'can this be fixed and for how much' is such an important thing.

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  Před 4 lety +11

      That is the key reason I entered this space. I watched hundreds of videos where every 'reviewer' was afraid to mention anything negative or insightful. In the end, I feel I only offer value if I offer a balanced, pros/cons review. Honest but respectful is what I strive for.

    I use the Low/med/high settings and find them very useful. Usually use medium. High for that extra power when needed, low for tight maneuvering. I use it even more after the engine upgrade.

      Good call. I bought this truck and it's more a trail truck. It doesn't modulate at all and it bashes through the rocks lol. But I'm still glad I got it, because it's still fun to drive, pretty quick for the trail, perfect for a change of pace, or at a camp ground.

      @@pelm3293 Yes. Yes I would recommend for a first RC. If you're looking for a hardcore crawler, this isn't it. But it's a good all rounder. It's not going to be as fast as a Traxxas Latrax, but it will climb rocks and has a little pep if you want a little speed.

    A neat little trick to get non oil filling shocks from bouncing like a pogo stick is adding a little dab of grease inside them.
    Pretty neat that a crawler this small comes with oil filled shocks.

    14:34 shock dampening won’t have an effect on ride height unless the shock has seized somehow. It controls the fluid through the piston to convert kinetic body energy into heat and provide a more stable platform.
    Spring strength and length is what will determine your ride height.
    Now a strong shock can prevent the vehicle from settling fully because the springs are being compressed slower, but once driving around it’ll settle into its sag.
    Now nitrogen pressure levels can change things up a bit, but this doesn’t have nitrogen charged shocks.

    Another great in depth review, especially a comparison with the SCX24. I am surprised how close in size the two rigs are and even more surprised how big the wheels are on the Axial. The Panda looked promising until I saw how stiff the shocks were. Although it didn't bounce, the shocks did not articulate well, which is disappointing. 50T does seems too fast. Looking forward to more mini crawler shootouts!

    Hey, nice unbiased review. I've had some time to do a few mods to my tetra (SUV style version) and the best ones were to move the esc and battery (450mah-800mah 2s lipo is perfect) to the side skids. (Jeep style body comes with side skids) Brings weight low and forward. Lowered body and raised shocks to upper holes for more drop. Also, flip front bumper mount to raise bumper for improved approach angle. Still trying to figure out how to lower gearing as there are limited options due to motor mount/shaft design and dimensions. Excited to see what you guys come up with!

    This is the first RC type crawler I have ever bought (mine is the X1 version). I feel like its a great first time vehicle with lots of extras given to the price point. Obviously it is not the best but lots of the best right now in this size car are either way expensive or out of stock. This I feel is a great beginner crawler to have for fun. You can buy 2 or 3 of these for the whole family to go out on a trail and have some fun with compared to having only one. I definitely don't care for the lack of torque when applying power. Will have to find some new motor possibly, also side note I only received one single 700mAh instead of two.

    Great review, especially when you get to 13:00. These two (make that three) important shortcomings are something the average person might not know about beforehand, but grouse about later. I mean, an indoor crawler is meant for tight spaces, therefore ought to be able to turn on a dime.

    Thank you for the review! I’m curious though, how would the Panda stack up against RC4WD‘s 1/18 crawlers! Perhaps a Panda vs. all other 1/18’s. A head to head test over different courses/trails would be the ideal test to see who would be crowned “King of the Micro Crawlers...”
    BTW, huge kudos to you for letting the kids play with your rc’s. Reminds me of my kids when they commandeer my crawlers.

    The SCX24 is miles ahead of any of these 1/24 1/18 crawlers. The only one that gives you the full 1/10th experince imo. The Kyosho has a nice scale body sure, but the SCX24 is 24th which means hundreds of Revell/AMC/etc scale model bodies fit.
