    Full leather for the rear seats would have matched nicely with the leather front seats. That is the direction I would have went. Just my opinion, but these JDM Legend builds are amazing!

    • @michaelsidhu4079

      That rear seat didn't look bad at all. They could've just cleaned it up and put it back in the car, as I doubt anyone would ever sit back there. 😉

  • @AbeyantHero

    The rear covers clash against the front scheme of colors, might be worth swapping the mid panel. Let's see you guys install the covers & rails indeed! Diy life
    Congrats on the new bundle of joy Pete!

  • @Brandon-C.

    Seeing your choices, do all black leather. Matching front and rears really tie it together.

  • @noaha5940
    @noaha5940 Před 2 lety +11

    You guys will have no problem installing the rear covers, once you have the hog rings and the hog ring pliers the install is easy. Doing it yourself will be more rewarding than having it done for you.

  • @ProjectSupercar
    @ProjectSupercar Před 2 lety +30

    I think you should go with the leather front seats and have the rears done by a professional in full leather matching the front. I'd also like to see a professional doing the work if possible.

    • @VPoje
      @VPoje Před 2 lety +1

      100% agree with that. For me, the other choice would be to delete the rear seat and put a Half cage in it and just carpet the floor.

    • @drechsla
      @drechsla Před 2 lety +2

      I also would like to see a upholstery shop do the rears, especially because the quality of materials on the rears versus what is on the Recaro’s look terrible.

    The Cloth racing seat looks better to me and fits the OEM+ theme. The rear seat covers are fine and they tie into the blueish speaker covers in the front. Yes, i want to see the hog rings installed on the seats even if it's a small part of the video. It's not that hard to do. I've done like 2 interiors myself and I'm no upholstery guy. That Tesla hoodie is dope, i would get one, but we only get 2 weeks of winter in Florida😅 great video SA! 💪

    Screw hog rings. I've always used zip ties and a zip tie gun to install. It's super easy. Also, forget bending and prying the rings when removing, just cut them, lol.

    My Wife's Civic SiR (Canadian) had these weird stains on the driver's side door panel and on the shift knob. Honda actually replaced them twice under warranty. Later on, we found out it was a mix of sun blocker and skin lotion that did it. Love your content, as always!

    I’m always a big fan of you guys trying and showing us as much as possible, I know you want your projects to come as close to perfect as possible but I respect attempting things yourself so much, even if it doesn’t come out as well. That’s one of the things I love about this channel so much is that you guys always try to do as much as you can yourselves and it’s so educational as a result because you can advise on what mistakes not to make and I learn something new every time!

    Great taste guys! I really like the cloth. Kind of gives off a Fd3s rz/spirit R vibe. I would re-dye that carpet a nice deep black, but it is a supra so I understand if you don't want to ruin the purity.

    Congrats PT!!! Greetings from Hawaii!!!
    DIY the rear covers, although a headache, DIY is always more rewarding and the experience since you acquired the hog rings and tool. Would love to see it.
    Front seats the leather has the looks; but the fabric has the purpose/function ... the decision should be based off of function over looks ... but that leather looks amazing and matches so well with the front. Purpose/Function: If the plan is to sell the car eventually or daily drive in the spring/summer, leather front seats ... if the car is to keep/collect and TMP track days then fabric front seats.

    For the seats I'd go fabric just cause you know you're tracking them, then add on the leather deformities and it kinda seals the deal. I do feel like leather suits the grand touring style interior better visually though, somewhat unfortunately. If you run a harness, then maybe I'd say leather cause the harness should still keep you reasonably in place?

    The leather seats are waaaay better looking in there. They match the car very well and they are visually smaller that scale better with the interior. As long as they are real good leather that can breathe well there shouldn't be any problems. I like the look of those cloth seats too but they are big and makes it look like a trackday car. It depends on what material cloth they are but I can already feel my ass itch looking at those in long drives.
