    Can the mics on top be removed so you can plug in a lavalier mic like on the X8?

      Hello, Sean. The built-in mics on the Portacapture X6 are not removable. However, the MIC/EXT IN jack on the side of the unit can provide plug-in-power for lavalier mics.

    Can they (×6 & x8) be used as a recorder mixer; can i record a drum beat in one channel (for exsmple), and the when i end the drum beat record, can i record an instrument (for example) in another channel while listening at the same time to the drum beat i pre recorded in the other channel??????????????

      Hello! Yes, multi-track recording is possible on the Portacapture series.

      @@TASCAMUSA but can i record a track while listening to another track (with recorded audio) simultaniously in separate channels????????
      I mean: first i record a drum beat in chanel #1 (for example).
      And then after i record this beat track on chanel #1, can i record in channel # 2 while listening at the same time to the beat i pre-recorded on channel #1????????.... you know... like a studio mixer

    ¿Can i use channels 1 and 2 for other things.... or they are strictly for the mics???

      Great question! The routing of inputs can be changed on the Portacapture X6. So, you can set up channels 1/2 as a USB return, or route other inputs to those channels, too.

    I purchased x8, and tried record speech events, in 32bit float. And it clipped so many. I watched some videos it can be fixed by decrease the gain. But when i tried my self in Studio One, it didnt work, anyone?

      Hello Awan! We'd like to help you out, but we have a few questions:
      Were you recording directly to the X6, or using it as an interface?
      If you recorded to the X8 and then exported the audio file to Studio One, did you make sure to create a new session in 32-bit float?
      Were you using the built-in microphones, or external mics?
      And, lastly, can you hear the audio clip, or are you going off the way the waveform looks on the screen?
      Adjusting the clip gain in Studio One is a relatively quick and easy task. First off, click your audio file to highlight it. You should notice a small white box appear at the top of the clip in the middle of the file. When hovering over that box with your cursor, the mouse pointer should turn into a hand. Grab the white box with the hand and pull down - you should notice the waveform onscreen getting smaller.

    Can this be used to record a band within close proximity to one another

    • @TASCAMUSA
      @TASCAMUSA  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes, the Portacapture X6 can easily be used to record a band whose members are relatively close to one another. This can be done by recording to a card in the unit, or by using the X6 as a USB audio interface.
