Interesting video... I'm at the point in the video where you are in Germany and see the news about the fire... Any chance that the fire was started by something you accidentally left behind (perhaps dragged out of your camp by one of the amazing wild boar)? Totally love how there are wild boar there that get so close to humans... Where I live, there is rumored to be 1 family of wild boar, but so far I have only seen their paw prints in the mud. Nobody has been able to get them on camera...

I love your commentary on the current war in Israel, and the history of of Israel and Jewish people. I am Jewish, but, sadly, my knowledge of Israel is very sketchy. But since the October 7 my focus has sharpen, and all my thoughts are on Israel, and our people's amazing history. I did not expect the wave of ignorance and hatred that rose in the world, but there we are, again. I watch all your posts, thank you so much, you give me strength, and words to combat idiotic comments and defend Israel. I love your Living in the Israeli Forest video. I now live in New Zealand. Wow, you and I have a lot in common. I lived in a tent in my dad’s backyard for about a year when I was 14-15. This was in a small beachside town in Southern California, during the 70s. Then I built a simple geodesic dome and lived in that for a couple of years. My dad’s house and my dome were later covered by a massive mudslide. It was never excavated. My dome is buried. Fortunately I moved before the mudslide. To art school in San Francisco. That’s a whole nother story. Now I’m a single dad raising a teenaged son. It’s a lot of work.

This is fantastic, Here in Ireland there is a housing crisis, and I was seriously thinking of living in a forest, but luckily I found a place to stay. Anyway there is always Sukkot to experience outdoors for a week. Thankyou Oren for sharing this. Can't believe you lived like this for 2 years!.There is a survival instinct in the Jews, an incredible resilience and toughness. You have a beautiful family. Fairplay to you !.

What an amazing journey, I couldn't stop watching this movie. So much warmth, positivity, the pace is just right. Also I was filmed very well. Also, I am familiar with the forest near Haifa University, the spiky bushes, the flies, the humid and heat during 8 months of summer and the cold rainy winter. And still I felt in love with all of it, because of your very honest filming.

Living in Ahuza and working in the Pine Club near Beith Oren, I made my way on foot many days during the week from the university to the Pine Club restaurant (as an health exercise), a beautiful area (before the fire), with lots and lots of memories. Try this year after the corona crisis to re-visit Israel for few weeks, before I will pass on. Truly a beautiful and memorable country; after living in 12 different countries and visiting more than 80 in my life, in Israel I had the best times and full of good memories... Yom Tow

Oren, I am watching and writing from Miami, FL. I have been watching your videos to learn and understand the current situation of your country. I have to say that finding this adventure of yours documented was a little gem to enjoy for me. I too am free spirit and have travelled around living “unconventionally” for a young single Cuban-American woman. I wanted to tell you that the first time I had any direct information about how Israelis were was when our building in Surfside collapsed in 2021. One of my best friends is married to a first responder and told us all about how the Israeli military came and were such intelligent militants, while also the most friendly - they formed a brotherhood in the time they were here. I know that was a difficult time for him, his wife and our city as a whole - and I always remember how much the Israelis provided help and support. I am Christian, and dream about visiting Jerusalem. I just watched this video 14 April 2021 and am in awe of you. Wonderful, hard, joyful, scary, all the emotions. I think there must have been some really difficult times and I also think it had moments of second thoughts that you are not sharing here. I'm at retirement age and I have refused to grow up for my whole life. I still think like a young person and enjoy the outdoors every moment I can… even though I live in NYC. I remember seeing this movie so long ago - even before I found out you were on YT. It took me a while to connect your channel with this movie. So cool - I want to be you when I grow up. I should get started, since I'm already 57. 41:52 - I've experience this in Southern California, too. After a large fire, the most noticeable absences are the coyotes and the mountain lions, but other mammals also diminish quite a bit. Then, eventually, they move back into the neighborhood and everything gets back to normal.
Very interesting follow your life journey and all your guided tours too. We ourselves are sailing from Stockholm to Israel this autumn and spend 4 month in some marina as soon as corona restrictions go away. We are going to look for your tours! Thanks for sharing.
I hate hiking! Am naturally averse to sleeping in the forest among grass leaves tickling your nose, flies buzzing, dust on your hands and -- last but definitely not least -- mosquitoes giving you long nasty itches. Felt like that all my 50 odd years, except maybe one time when did go on an actual hike, by which confirmed my aversion. These 56 minutes of cinema have made me want to try again! I understood about 15% of the Hebrew. (I guess some Hebrew School stuck.) Not keen on having wild boar padding about - but there are wild boar where I live too, and black bears not too far away. Only a problem when we camp. Most of the time, I just worry about ticks when I camp and hike.

In Scotland when your camping in the Carn Gorms in January it's possible to fall sleep wake up and it's so cold you can snap your hair it's so cold it just snaps with the frost ice around it ,it's quite something.always sleep with a balaclava with eye and mouth holes both are very important or you could burn of your nose or lips with vicious frost bite .

I understood about 15% of the Hebrew. (I guess some Hebrew School stuck.) Not keen on having wild boar padding about - but there are wild boar where I live too, and black bears not too far away. Only a problem when we camp. Most of the time, I just worry about ticks when I camp and hike.

In Scotland when your camping in the Carn Gorms in January it's possible to fall sleep wake up and it's so cold you can snap your hair it's so cold it just snaps with the frost ice around it ,it's quite something.always sleep with a balaclava with eye and mouth holes both are very important or you could burn of your nose or lips with vicious frost bite .
