That was a very good grand finals, I hope this is enough to show Bandai that Soul Calibur is still loved and SC7 should get green lit.

When SC6 launched, Okubo said he couldn't talk about the future of the game mainly because the budget was very restricted, despite the huge hype for a resurrection of the franchise and the good financial situation of Bandai/Namco at the time. Max Dood and other youtubers complained that nowadays fighting games don't survive without feeding the community about their future. Incredibly, that silence lasted almost an year and most players literally abandoned the game. Season pass 1 was released and they used exactly the same "strategy" for Season 2. When SC6 got in the main line of EVO, there was basically no advertising for it from Bandai/Namco (the advertisement came mostly from Okubo himself). Even the Bandai/Namco banner for EVO on twitter was half DBFZ and half TK7. Players complained to Okubo and he didn't even know about it. They put SC6 on the banner only after the complaints. When Season 2 was finished, the few that stood loyal to the game naturally asked for a Season 3, but again Okubo couldn't say anything about it, but he was keeping the hype alive. His social media was full of SC6 posts, likes, comments and requests for info about a 3rd season. Suddenly Okubo "leaves" Bandai/Namco after almost 2 decades to work in a small gaming company...
Believe what you want, but someone big in that company really doesn't want this game to thrive.
I'm hoping for a sequel. Soul calibur 6 is one of my favorite games ever and a gate way to the previous games which I adore. Except sc5.
I really hope Bandai Namco does Soul Calibur 7. This series always feels in danger of dying, despite Soul Calibur 6 selling pretty well.

Boom showed tremendous discipline and proved Hwang has all the tools to win in the face of all odds. Huge victory for Boom and huge victory for The Hwang Gang!

@@179107199999 actually, no, it would be a dull regular fighting game without them. The unique high tension would pretty much disappear. Knowing that a mistake can lead you to a quick death is just awesome for 3D weapon based fighting games.
@@cegolau with how fast casuals dropped the game after mechanics were put in place to appeal to them it seems it's still a boring game. Soul Charge cancels were anything but boring and the ability of certain characters to cancel out of certain moves made the game exciting SC2 didn't have comeback mechanics but characters could do so much without XFactor style soul charge.
Always enjoy playing this game!

9:39 is not a launcher, it's a crumple. Upward crumple which gives extra frames and is why it makes it safe on block

Is there no “punishes” in this game? I feel like I’m just seeing whiff punishes but no punishes on moves or strings
There is definitely punishes. But most strings and moves people uses for poking are fast and safe. Stuff starts to become unsafe around -10 or -12, and becomes quite unsafe around -16 and up. Also nearly every low in the game is unsafe by default as well.
Yeah it's matchup knowledge in SC. Most of the game is hardcore footsie base and oki game. Reason SC is so poke heavy like any other fighter. But in SC they depend on that space hard and movement is key.

It's more complicated than RPS, simply due to the presence of other options, especially movement and blocking

I hate Xianghua. Glad Hwang took it.
He said the movement for this feels natural. SC 2 felt way better and animations were smoother. Hey SC6 is good just needs more polish. (Certain characters should NOT be able to auto GI while there back is turned) also the way Hwang and YunSeong could move in SC2 blows this version of Hwang away.

That's preference but I understand. Personally I think 6 is polished and ironically some ppl in the older versions could GI with their back turn X always had it in SC when she was introduced. It's like a SC thing. Hell raph could do it in this version.
@@KenjitsuHokori in terms of animations and fluidity SC 2 was better and that's not preference. Even when sidestepping there's a special animation and sound effect that no other SC had. Cancelling moves was fantastic. Later games after 3 the games were slower and a bit more stiff
@@179107199999 I remember they would lean further out like a perfect dodge. Used to play SC2 a looooot lol but personally I love 6 on a mechanical level. But 4 would be my favorite as a game.
