- The most popular dish in China of late is called Gansu Tianshui Malatang! If you don't know, Malatang literally means a "spicy numbing hot soup". It is delicious, however I've never tried the version from Gansu. So, I decided to order some from a Gansu restaurant in Beijing. AND... I also sent my mom and dad, in the UK, a parcel containing some malatang that they can cook themselves; plus some other tasty Chinese food, including FRAGRANT DUCK POO tea! Yes, seriously.

i don't think that is true. Cantonese are really good at drying seafood. shrimp paste, various dried fish, dried oysters, ... not to mention wax sausages, fermented tofu, ... there are so many ways to preserve food with plenty of salt.
lol it would "drive you quackers"! I love tahini sauce, and so, I'm sure the spicy sesame paste sauce was delicious~ After looking pilchards up, I now know what to call sardines if ever in the UK

I think the Canned Dace Fish should be available in Chinese or Asian grocery stores in the UK. Anyone can confirm this?
Yes it is. That's where I bought it from.
They are also available at Chinese Supermarkets in larger cities in Scotland. Recently, I bought them at "Mathews Foods ( 萬富行） in Dundee, Scotland.
Also in Melbourne. I grew up eating them! 😊

I'm actually a dog person but cats are easier to raise in Beijing. Dogs need a garden in my opinion.
