I prefer the Alpha with Viktor being alive and you killing him rather than you finding him dead.
Hold on, you mean to tell me that for over 10 years I've seen Viktor's body over 100 times in THAT mission and had no clue?!

@@greenth-mac2550Yeah the whole situation in that house requires you to put the pieces together yourself. The Russian Troops were able to get the HVI to open the door (Likely on account of Viktor's fluent American English + other intel).
A gunfight ensued. The HVI got a few shots on Viktor but not before another soldier took him out. This same soldier then goes down for a snack and is the same one we see looking in the refrigerator when we enter.

I already knew and assumed it was Viktor the whole time, by just looking at the face and tattoos. But didn’t know I was right until now.
@@Dark71138 We had conspiracy Shepherd leaked password so they could get to the HVI and get the intel
The mission ending in Alpha version is definetely better, not only Viktor is there but Anatoly (The one in waiting in the Ambulance in No Russian) too.
2:00 this happens because choppers in the game are programmed to always crash outside the playable area. It can lead to weird stuff when the helos get shot down far from the map boundaries

One court case ruled that vehicle and gun appearance are protected by first amendment and no need for copyright and loyalties. They cannot use the names if they did not get a license but the gun owner cannot control how should the gun be used in game either.
i wouldn't be surprised that the voices in the alpha are just guys from the dev team as stand ins for development pruposes

I agree, but they sounded like stereotypical military voices.
So, to a degree, they were better voices than the final result.
I cannot unhear Overlord as Herschel Shephered in MW2 and 3 remake
And I can't unhear new Shepherd from Wish as Overlord from MW2

I prefer Overlords VA in the alpha, it sounds significantly more realistic. In real life, your Signalers (radio operators) are usually lower ranks, ie. Ptes and Cpls. In otherwords, generally guys that are 18-25 years old.
Overlord is not some random radio operator dude , he's a 5-stars general
@@mohamedhannachi5958 So why is he on the means so much? He's got bigger fish to fry. He can throw a private on comms and grab the headset when he absolutely has to talk to a sub call sign
@thejonathan130 in some sensitive operations , SOF are usually to report to a really high ranking officer , to the point where sometimes a general guides the whole operation through comms.
And another solid argument, in MW3, Iron lady mission , im the briefing you hear Overlord talking the the president himself, I don't think a random radio operator is capable of doing that , without mentioning the fact that the president and his assistant both called him "General"
@@mohamedhannachi5958 US Rangers aren't SOF. What you're saying makes sense for TF-141 levels, and the Delta levels in MW3, but not the Ranger levels in MW2. And yes, a Signaler is definitely able to pass information on the means. It's literally their job to pass information to and from call signs. I know, I used to be one.
@@thejonathan130 Unless you're talking about Ranger tabbed guys, 75th Ranger Regiment are SOF and they are literally fall under SOCOM. They're glorified infantry at the bottom of the SOF totem pole.
Weird part about talking to Overlord is Foley whose probably a Squad Leader is talking to a general when the information should be passed off to an officer within the CoC.

True, tbf all of them sounded better in OG cause that’s when it was finished

From what I remember, in this mission, Overlord is Shepherd right?

I miss when cod had missions like these they were way more detailed and alive then a squad of people like in newer cods the mix of full scale invasions from Russian to American then playing as like price or soap had a great mix like in og mw2

The Alpha was wild shooting helicopters down with a laser attachment on your rifle💀
You can do that in the actual game aswell

Loved the intro to the OG. The police sirens fading out as the mission starts and complete street warfare was so cool.
To this day we still don't knoe why Makarov's men were in that house, or what was in that briefcase
I swear when i was a kid and i played this i remember seeing some rangers having lasers come out of their guns but they can still shoot and not laze targets. Either a bug or im going crazy
The ending for the alpha makes a lot more sense than the final version.
I never understood who the HVT in the house was or what his significance to the campaign was
Probably CIA guy who set up Allen with Makarov, documents were either proof it was Makarov behind the attacks, or proof Shepherd set it up - one theory is that Shepherds guys got the drop on Viktor(possibly without realizing who he was?), killed the HVI after he opened the door for them, took the docs implicating Shepherd, and left the docs implicating Makarov for the Rangers to collect
The voices feel more legit in the alpha version. Like you’re just with dudes.

Did we ever find out how Viktor died in the og anyways? Was it just collateral damage?
I think the HVI killed him. IMO it's implied that shepherd gave the icepick/phoenix callsign and counter to the Russians/Viktor so the HVI would open the door (hence why Foley says "no sign of forced entry"). Upon seeing Russian soldiers and not the rangers the HVI expected, he managed to shoot Viktor before being killed, possibly by the Russian soldier you can find raiding the fridge in that house
I like it but how Come Activision haven’t added any Up to Date Fighters like F35 or SU57 or something 🧐
F35 was 3 years old and the su57 hadn’t existed at time of release
I mean MW nowadays still using cursed Harrier instead F35

Where is HVI?
In the alpha they only refer to an HVO (High Value Object). I guess the HVI was added later.
