Understanding Filter Types
The best air purifiers have multiple forms of filtration to tackle a range of airborne media, like:
HEPA air purifiers: HEPA filtration is the most popular type of air purifier on the market. These filters use an ultra-fine mesh to help filter out ultra-tiny particles, in some cases all the way down to 0.3 microns.
Activated carbon air purifiers: There are not many air purifiers that rely solely on activated carbon filters, but carbon purification is highly effective at helping to remove odors from your home. If odor-reducing features are your main aim, you’ll want to make sure you select a purifier with an activated carbon (charcoal) filter.
Ionic air purifiers: Ionic air purifiers (aka ionizer) use the power of negative-charged ions to attract to positively charged airborne particles in your room and sink them to the floor, where they can later be vacuumed up. Getting these particles out of the air is the first step in preventing airborne illnesses and the spread of germs.
PECO (photo-electrochemical oxidation) filters: This type of filtration is less common on the market, but not unseen. PECO technology is a form of filtration that uses light combined with a nano-coated filter to chemically destroy unwanted airborne particles. Those in favor of PECO technology claim that it may be more effective than HEPA because it destroys the particles, not just captures them.

Yeah I had no idea what you were talking about. Lol. All I understood was the expense and the square footage. Now I have to go find out what the upkeep is to these. Like do you have to wash or replace all those filters? Does auto mode mean it turns on or off? Or does it mean higher or lower speed?
Honestly I guess I was hoping for something that I just plug in and it works. Plus some you only have to run a hose thru to clean every few months. I doubt any are that easy. Ugh now I have to research. Lol. 🤣🤣
@@hissonggirlmoni5706 Sorry we didn't better answer those questions. Here are the answers:
Like do you have to wash or replace all those filters?
Basically all filters need to be replaced every 6-12 months. There are very few washable filters that are good.
Does auto mode mean it turns on or off? Or does it mean higher or lower speed?
Auto mode means it's always on, detecting how good / bad the air quality is, and then increasing / decreasing suction accordingly.
I haven't seen any air purifier that would let you just run a hose through it, but the Airdog X3 is pretty close. You wash those filters in the sink / dishwasher and let the carbon filter regenerate in the sun. Read that review here - moderncastle.com/airdog-x3-review/
@@ModernCastle thanks! I have to figure out if buying new filters are like buying a new air purifier every 6 to 8 months. Maybe next time you can compare the machines to a box fan with a filter duct tapes to the back. They says it’s almost as good as the average one. 😲
@@johntorhovtor5244 The few items I've researched from HoMedics don't leave me with a great level of confidence. I'd suggest something different.
@@johntorhovtor5244 If it's a HEPA filter and has a decent sized motor I'd just use that.
Thanks for the thorough reviews! I just ordered my Levoit Large Room purifier from your link. Can’t wait for it to arrive!! All the reviews on it look great.
You're welcome! Glad to help :)
Thanks for insights. A very important characteristic to me is the air purifier's "noise" level. I need to run the air purifier when I sleep . . . . . Most air purifier user manuals list the noise level e.g., the just introduced Blueair HealthProtect line states its noise emissions on its "lowest" fan speed setting is 22 dBA. Consumer Reports ratings of air purifiers always grades the air purifiers on both the noise emitted when running on its highest fan speed as well as when running on its lowest fan speed. Rabbit Air is normally the quietest in every comparison I've seen e.g., the Rabbit Air web site says its MinusA2 SPA-700A emits just 20.8 dBA on its lowest fan setting.
Thanks, Jim. I've been sort of on the fence on how important noise level really is. We've included it on some purifiers, but not on our most recent tests.
But you make a good point here. I'll see if we can start including that in our future purifier reviews.
Vast majority of these are paid shilled reviews and highly suspect this one is as well
This makes me feel good that both of the air purifiers I bought last year are Levoit. I got the Levoit 350 Pet and the LV-PUR131S large space. The LV-PUR131S actually stopped working a year in and they replaced it no questions asked! Great company!
I'm glad to hear it! Levoit are pretty great, especially for the cost.
never buy a levoit
@@jrpgmike You need to say why please!
I have the Levoit pictured in the background and a large room Levoit both in my bedroom. They work incredibly. I can definitely endorse Levoit. I just ordered two new filters for them today. When I opened them they were full of dust. I also have two terrariums in my room. They do a good job at improving smell.
@@ModernCastle How about Homedics 5 in 1 air purifier, does it remove VOCS?
Thanks for making these videos, your videos have a scientific approach which leaves me the most confident in trusting your recommendation
You're very welcome.
And thank you very much. I really appreciate that. That's definitely my aim. We try to let the data just speak for itself and make all of our recommendations based on objective usability tests.
Think you will find his reviews are sponsored. His recommendation include the molecule which totally flunked consumer reports test and wire cutters. They even went as far as saying the molecule was the worst they have ever tested. His other recommendation was the Dyson which also totally flunked in the Australian consumer magazine CHOICE air purifier test but funny enough it wins in his test.
Thanks for info! I wish you included of a comparison of how loud or quiet each air purifiers were as well.
Thanks!
In the future we're making a point to include an air purifier noise test. Thanks for the suggestion.
Agreed. One of the biggest problems I’ve had through the years with air purifiers is the noise they make. Especially how after a few months they usually start to “rattle” usually due to lesser quality fans inside.
That's probably the second most important area.
I agree, plus price comparison, and maintenance, before buying a new air purifier I would like to know how often the filters have to be replaced/cleaned, and cost of replacement filters. I currently use a Homedics, and I only put it on when I leave the room as it sounds like a Jumbo jet.
@@ModernCastle You should also consider including "total cost of ownership" (replacement filter cost). Some less expensive options may cost more over time do to higher filter costs.

Excellent review, very complete and objective
Thank you very much! I appreciate your feedback.
@Thor2021 Ishere I take offense to that..."suspicious limited selection". I mean c'mon, man.
We're a relatively small company that tests as many units as we can. You can see the full list of purifiers we've tested here - moderncastle.com/air-purifiers/
It's hardly "limited".
HEPA Air Purifier with PM2.5 5 Stage Filtration & Air Quality Sensor is the one I've gone for 900 Square feet watching this video helped me pick this one out and it's only about 70 GBP for people who live in the UK.
Glad to hear the video was helpful!
Great video! Very informative! have a Toshiba Smart Wi-Fi Air purifier that I bought on Amazon during their Prime Day sales. I love it but I need another one for my upstairs area. Trying to decide between a Dyson TP04 and a Winix 5500-2. I probably will buy the Winix because it is more affordable.
Winix definitely the better value. But hard to go wrong either way.
Winix 100%
Great video! How would you compare Levoit Core 300 with something like the Philips Series 800 for dust particles mainly?
Thank you!
Unfortunately, we haven't yet tested any of the Phillips air purifiers yet, so I cannot really speak to how they compare.
However, I have generally heard good things about Phillips. I would expect performance to be pretty good.
Tosot and gree are the same brand. The reviews speaks for itself, they've done good a great job.
EXCELLENT REVIEW
Thank you kindly!
Hello, what were the initial PM2.5 levels before you turned on the purifiers? I can’t seem to find it in the video nor the website blog page.
We have our full testing data on all air purifiers here - moderncastle.com/air-purifiers/
Just look for that specific model. You'll see a baseline and then what we experienced after 1 hour running the purifier.
Curious about the AirDoctor. Any plans to test that one?
No immediate plans, but it's on our list. From what we've read it does some to be an excellent purifier.
Great products it's help our air purified.
Hi,
Between LV H133 and Levoit Core 300, which would you recommend? I am using for it for my bedroom.
In addition, which model do you think will become unavailable..easier? As my current machine..the filter is no longer in market cuz the model is no longer being sold.
Thank you
If it's a small'ish size bedroom, say 12x12' or less then you'll be fine with the Core 300.
If it's a larger bedroom I'd opt for the H133, due to the increased airflow and coverage level.
In terms of filter availability down the road, it's hard to say. Levoit's been around for many years now and they don't seem to be in any danger of not continuing to manufacturer filters. To be safe, I'd say just buy a few extra filters that will cover you for the next several years. Then you won't need to worry about it.
The best ones are the Coway 400 and the Winix 5500-2. Blue Air is also good.
I bought a Dyson Pure cool it's 👍
Agreed but I notice some reviewers don't mention the winnix which I find curious

IQ air is the best of the best, yes, it's loud as hell at max settings but it would suck the smoke out from a burning house. I have a dyson and IQ Air and yeah the dyson is good but nothing touches an IQ Air, the filters are just massive
It is good to note and explore Plascide technology from Air Halo.
Thanks, SC. I'll keep that one on our list.
What about the Coway Airmega 300/400 and the IQAir GC Purifier? I have both and would be interested to see your opinions on them!
Unfortunately, we've not tested those brands.
I've heard good things about Coway and IQAir, so there is a good chance they would have made our list had we tested them.
We did recently test the IQAir Atem, which we found to be amazingly well built and designed. It's performance was quite good as well. You can see that review here - moderncastle.com/iqair-atem-review/
I just ordered a Coway 1512 thanks.
Good choice. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Great video! Would you recommend me to return my levoit LV-H132XR for the levoit 300 you mentioned towards the end of your video?
I’m looking for something similarly priced for a small bedroom. Thank you!
Yeah, probably so. Of all the Levoit's the H132 is the worst by a healthy margin, in my view. The 300 has a better performance and better build quality.
Now I am gonna dream about him walking with me in the store helping me buy the best one for my son's bedroom.
We're here to help however we can :P
hello ! thank you for the video. what would you recommend if im specifically looking to remove a smoke smell ?
and if im targeting 2 small rooms in particular would you recommended 2 small and cheaper purifiers, or 1 in the middle of the appartment would be better ?
It would be better to have a smaller unit nearer to the smoke. So probably 2 small units.
I would suggest the Levoit Core 300 - amzn.to/3mMzgoX
It's budget friendly and compact.
However, it is not a miracle worker. Removing smoke at scale is arguably the most difficult thing for a purifier has to do. Exceptional performance at smoke purification really doesn't start until the $500+ price range. That said, the Levoit Core 300 is a good place to start...if you're happy with the performance then you can save yourself a lot of money.
@@ModernCastle thank you very much for answering questions🙏
@@fhmphantomzz you're very welcome!
Great video. To clarify, am I correct that in order to filter viruses out of the air, a filter has to be able to go down to 0.1 microns as opposed to 0.3?
Viruses range in size from 0.02 micros to 0.5 micros (see here - www.news-medical.net/health/The-Size-of-SARS-CoV-2-Compared-to-Other-Things.aspx#:~:text=To%20date%2C%20research%20has,large%20as%20500%20nm.)
Also, viruses can attach themselves to lighter than air particulates to become airborne. Removing that particulate from the air would then also remove the virus.
Needless to say, a higher grade HEPA filter that removes even smaller particulates is preferable, but you will still get a reasonably good effectiveness out of H12 / H13 HEPA filtration.
Take his reviews with a grain of salt as there highly suspect.
Just found the OneLife X Air Purifier, and its plasma technology looks very promising compared to all the HEPA filters
We tested it here - moderncastle.com/onelife-x-review/
It's good, but the coverage level is small, it's expensive, and the performance (in terms of particulates removed) just isn't as good as high-end HEPA purifiers.
Great job
Thank you
Wish we could see a test for Xiaomi mi air purifier pro h which should compete with LV-H133 that I have or might even have similar performance to LV-H134 who knows! Only test will show.
The good thing about Xiaomi purifier is the smart features and the OLED display, but it doesn't have perfect tornado design of the levoit purifiers which helps in getting the cleaned air to every corner of the room.
And thanks for the very informative video which makes me happy to own LV-H133 (which I actually bought just after I saw your tests).
If we get a chance to test a Xiaomi we'll definitely do a review.
Given what I know about Xiaomi as a brand I suspect their purifier would be just as good as Levoit.
And thank you for your kind words!
hey bro, your video is awesome. i have one recommendation, a different thumbnail pic. thanks for the info!
Thanks very much for your kind words and the suggestion.
Just changed out the Thumbnail...hopefully this new one does better!
Great detailed video. ...Any plans to test the affordable Ikea FÖRNUFTIG Air Purifier? Thanks!
Thank you!
I actually didn't realize IKEA made air purifiers. Thanks for the suggestion. We'll take a look at it!
Great review. I would also appreciate if you could cover the electrical usage of each appliance.
Thank you!
Electrical usage is something we looked at including, but ultimately decided against it. Partly because it's hard to calculate, and usage is highly variable based on individual usage. But also, the relative operation costs were both minimal and similar across the air purifiers we did do the calculations for.
Great vid
Thank you!
Which would you recommend for a room that gets very dusty 🤔 room size would be around 350+ square ft. I was considering the mighty but idk now looking at your data.!
Coway Mighty would be fine.
Though I'd personally opt for Levoit Vital 100.
In general I just really like Levoit. Excellent value purifiers. The Levoit Vital 100 is less expensive than the Coway Mighty, but also just as strong of a performer, but covers more area. Feels like a no brainer to me.

For the GermGuardian AC4825E, what is the level of ozone emitted when the UVC setting is turned on ?
Zero. UVC bulbs do no produce ozone.
I was thinking about using a purifier to place around the electronics of my home theater/gaming consoles to reduce dust accumulation. It's in a large, open concept room, but would it help if it were located alongside then electronics?
Yeah, that makes sense. If it's closer to your electronics it will draw in airborne dust that's floating and more likely to land on your electronics.
For a very small apartment and a budget friendlier price, which one would you recommend the most to me?
Levoit LV H133 - amzn.to/2UPUYwA
It covers a little over 500 square feet. And it's easily the best value per square foot coverage.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear it was helpful.
It seems most of the complaints (at least in the comments) are coming from viewers who didn't see their specific favorite purifier mention. But as they say, you can't please everyone.
I am most interested in eliminating pet odors from the living room and bedrooms. Would you recommend the Levoit Vital 100 for multiple units in a household?
It is fairly budget friendly, so that's a big plus. It's definitely not the absolute best out there...but the performance for the money, it's solid. If you were going to have 3-6 of these around your house and keep them running / well maintained it would work well.
Just remember, the carbon filters are what allow them to reduce odors. So you'll need to replace those as needed to keep bad pet smells at bay.
nice video!
Thanks!
Thanks for the air purifier reviews! How long does the filter for each of these last till it requires replacement?
Depends on the level of usage. I'd say around 12 months is pretty typical.
If you have a super dusty home and/or run it on high / more often then perhaps as short as 6 months.

Great review. Only one problem. None of the local shops sell them.
Yeah, most of these are more widely available on Amazon and elsewhere online.
I suggest testing PM10, VOC and NO2 as well, since these are also common in indoor environment and harmful to people’s lungs.
We do also test PM10, total particles, and AQI. I only brought in PM2.5 for this video for simplicity, but you can always find full data on our reviews here - moderncastle.com/air-purifiers/
I've tried to test VOCs and NO2 in the past, but thus far, I've just not been thrilled with our equipment. I think I need to get a more advanced testing meter to get reliable data for those metrics.
Would love to see your reviews of the smaller portable car purifiers, the cup holder ones or the cigarette lighter ones
We tested a couple of those several years ago and I was extremely underwhelmed.
They just don't have a big enough fan to really make any difference.
@@ModernCastle yeah i would think years ago would be different, im sure the technology has probably changed now. It would be great to revisit and see the difference and changes.

@@AhmadAlAjeel If I see anything interesting I'll add it to our list. But as a general rule when it comes to air purifiers...size matters. The best filter in the world doesn't work with a large enough fan blowing on it.
I've tested enough purifiers by this point that I can usually estimate how low it'll improve PM2.5 to just by the size alone. So I just don't have much how for most small sized air purifiers for cars.
After your previous reply I checked this one instead any thoughts.

The Winnix would definitely make a noticeable dent. Just make sure you have it on high, especially while smoking, and replace the carbon filters fairly regularly.
Great video! Any thoughts on Alen purifiers? Specifically the 45i or 75i?
We haven't tested Alen yet, but from everything I've read and seen they seem to be amazing purifiers.
I would expect them to be a fantastic purifier when we do get the chance to test them.
@@ModernCastle this is my exact question because the price difference of all these purifiers don't make a lot of sense. I don't mind spending a lot of I really am getting the best quality.
@@evalovestolove6591 The difference in price really comes down to air flow / coverage level, usability features (smart integration, auto mode, etc.), and filters.
More air flow and more coverage level = more expensive
Better / more usability features, but especially smart / app integration and auto mode = more expensive
Thicker / better / higher grade HEPA filters, thicker / heavier carbon filters, and other advanced filters = more expensive
The more of these factors you stack together, the more expensive they will be. In terms of performance, they are all good performers in this video (for the coverage level to which they were designed). So the easiest way to decide is to go here - czcams.com/video/iAwxq5ALTvk/video.html - and find the purifier with the coverage level and specific usability features you need.

Iq air is awesome. I know because I had one. The only thing that sucks about it is the filter price. I spent $1100 for the unit back in 2012 and the 3 filters would cost between $400 to $500.
I'm now with coway airmega. I've noticed it does just as well as the iq air.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Agreed, both IQAir & Coway are fantastic.
Nice video, thanks. I’m actually debating Levoit 133 or Winix 5500-2, any suggestions?
Thanks!
I'd opt for the Levoit 133. In terms of value of the money, I think it's pretty hard to beat.
Even so, I have heard good things about Winix. I have no reason to believe it's not a solid purifier.
@@ModernCastle thanks. I’m getting 133😊
@@sharonyang1915 I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I have the winix pro. It's outstanding
I adore Modern Castle!
Thank you!
very informative! have you reviewed the levoit 400s?
Thank you!
Yes, our Levoit 400s review is here - moderncastle.com/levoit-core-400s-review/
@@ModernCastle thank you so much! i really like the Levoit brand. Have you done a review on the new Core 600S? It has a very good CADR. I am thinking to purchase the 400S for my master bedroom and the 600S for my living room/kitchen/dining area. I believe it's a new model, at least that is what Levoit told me when I emailed them about the filters. They are very responsive. I'd really like to get your opinion/review on the 600S. thanks in advance & happy new year!
@@enc67 I haven't tested the 600S, but given all of the other core units we have tested, I would expect the performance to be solid.
Have you had a chance to test the levoit core 400s? I'm I wrong to assume it would perform similar to the levoit hv-133 but with alexa?
Yes, you can find our review here - moderncastle.com/levoit-core-400s-review/
The performance is similar to the HV-133, however, the HV-133 was still better.
Have you tested and reviewed the Westinghouse 1701? Would love to hear your thoughts on that one!
Unfortunately, I have not yet.
Which would you say is the Miele of Hepa purifiers?
Great question!
Probably Oransi. Both Oransi and Miele pride themselves on construction, build quality, and a simple (but extraordinarily effective design).
Hi 👋 I currently did some wood stain in our house it isn't a big area of wood still we needed to let the floors air out all of fumes and gasses leaving the floor I seen many people say air purifiers help the smell after the wood cures I'm really confused on which one I should buy to help with the smell
When it comes to smells... more carbon + more airflow = best smell reduction performance.
The list here - czcams.com/video/iAwxq5ALTvk/video.html - shows the coverage area and which ones have a carbon filter. I would suggest buying that one that best matches your coverage area and budget.
Can you please review the Uribe air purifier when it comes out?
I'll see if we can get one.
Can you review the Mila air
Purifier.
Here you go - moderncastle.com/mila-air-purifier-review/
Which one would you recommend for a bedroom? I'm having trouble deciding.....I mainly want it for allergies and I don't want to spend anything above say 300.
I would buy whatever one is best suited to your bedroom's size.
Levoit Vital 100 - amzn.to/2FyzJ7i - would be a good choice, as long as your bedroom isn't enormous or open concept.
@@ModernCastle appreciate you!
@@Mario-pm3re You're very welcome!
Are these good for odor neutralization (up to 1000 sq ft ones)?
The Oransi is definitely the better option for odor neutralization that also does 1,000+ square feet.
Molekule Air Pro isn't bad, but not quite as good in my experience with respect to smells.
@moderncastle Based on your recent review of the Mila Air purifier on your website, I would assume that it is one of the best ones compared to the models shown on this video, maybe even the best one in terms of performance/value. Am I wrong or if not what's your absolute top recommendation?
It would definitely be on this list.
As far as best performance vs. value, again, it's hard to say if it's absolutely #1, but it's certainly among perhaps the top 5. 1,000 square feet coverage for around $350 is indeed a solid deal.
However, I do think their value takes a bit of a hit due to the cost of their filters. Their filters, while excellent, are more expensive than many competitor filters I've seen.
@@ModernCastle I've finally pulled the trigger and bought it on their website for $279 with a critter cuddler filter (coupon applied + 1st filter free when you subscribe). This specific filter has HEPA + heavy-duty carbon filter so I hope it will work well to get rid of the pet smell in my apartment. The pros outweigh the cons IMO and the devs are working hard on improving the app based on what I read from other users feedback.
@@jean-yveslamour4631 Sounds good! I expect you'll love it. Despite my note about the filters being more expensive, it is a really cool purifier. I'm actually using it in my bedroom currently.
@@jean-yveslamour4631 mila are terrible air purifiers. I would take modern castles reviews with a grain of salt as they appear to be sponsored
@@chefgav1 Most reviewers are sponsored these days... I love my Mila and it works great for my needs. I believe they genuinely care about their customers based on the interactions I've with their support team. Product is not perfect but they're improving app by adding new features regularly. Always take people's review with a grain of salt (especially the extremely positives and negative ones). P.S: stating that they're terrible air purifiers doesn't help much BTW...
Hi I've been on the hunt for an air purifier for my apartment due my folks all being heavy smokers. Which air purifiers would you say would probably be the most efficient with sucking up and getting rid of cigarette smoke?
Smoke is one of the hardest to eliminate, because the smell is so strong and the particulates are so small.
The Oransi Mod would be my #1 - amzn.to/319Bhj8 - it has a MERV17 HEPA filter, which is better at removing ultra fine particulates.
@@ModernCastle Thank you!

is the device able to purify the air of total 800-1000 sqft in a single open space/room ? or can it be the total living space say of an apartment for example with multiple rooms ? how effective are those in purifying the total apartment space ?
The more open the area the better the purifier will able to do.
I've not seen any concrete data on a single centrally located air purifier pulling air all the way from bedrooms and elsewhere around the house.
In general, I expect more open areas and areas physically closer to the unit will get the best purification performance.
I am looking for the largest coverage air purifier??! Which one would you recommend.
Medify MA112 vs. Levoit S600 ?!
Honestly, it's a toss up. I've tested models from both brands and both performed extremely well. I'd buy whichever one is cheaper.
Hi, I noticed that the Levoit Air Purifier is basically hollow in the middle do u think it would be a bad idea to place additional filter media (like the purrified air filter media) inside of it to get an even greater ordor reducing effect but with a levoit (P350)? I would still keep the levoit filter there as well. I have a bunny and her pee is very potent, the hay gets dusty and of course she sheds so I was looking for an air purifier for my small space that deals with dust, hair and her smell (my space is only 90 sqft though I will move to a studio apartment this summer likely to be 200-ish sqft). Thank you so much for making this video!
Hrm...good question. I'm not really sure. Most likely it will negatively impact the air flow...which could make the HEPA perform worse also.
I probably wouldn't do it.
I have a 1200sqf upstairs downstairs condo, should I get one lage air filter to put downstairs or two smaller ones?
I'd personally go with 2 smaller ones. You end up with better coverage, as you can place them at opposite ends.
Perhaps consider 2 of these - amzn.to/3l9iQnU
Can you review the sqair purifier by smart air ?
You can find our test and review of the SQAir here - moderncastle.com/sqair-review/

Awaiting for your help, thank you for this test on air purifiers,Priscilla
Who says it's not a good idea to use a humidifier?
If your air lacks humidity then it's perfectly fine to use one.
Hi @Modern Castle , any suggestions on what air purifier would work well in a newer 2014 apartment, noticing I have to dust often 750sq ft.
Almost any of these would work, but the Levoit LV-H133 - shop-links.co/cfPyMsday3P - is the best value.
It's just a high air flow basic HEPA purifier. Great at removing dust.

@Modern Castle
Helpful & informative video.
With this knowledge I'm probably going to get the Oransi.
If I had to give construction criticismit would be for the fact that it's not including any of the actual prices.
Also is does not include other top brands such as the #1 of a Top 5 review Proton Pure.
Would really like to see an updated video for 2022 regarding if the Oransi is still the top place holder and what other new ones have taking the other top spots in the video.
Since we use Amazon links we're not allowed to include prices in the videos (as the prices fluctuate significantly on Amazon). So that's why we don't include them.
We're working on our 2022 version of this video now. Oransi is still among the best air purifiers. Other top picks for 2022 include models from Medify, Levoit, Rabbit Air, Blueair, Winix, and others. Hoping to have that vide out next week.
@@ModernCastle I appreciate the quick respond.
So based on your reply either you've never heard of the proton pure or it doesn't make the list cuz you have done in the past? And its a trash item?
If so which is it?
Something you haven't reviewed before?
Or something that you have but it doesn't even make the list?
@@StormySky48 Proton Pure is a brand I had never heard of before. I took a look at their product page and the filters look good.
However, it's still a fairly small form factor purifier, which means the coverage level just isn't going to be super high. For a single bedroom it's probably a good choice.
@@ModernCastle since it's a newer model it might be a good idea to include it in the next video.
Seems to be getting a lot of hype.
@@ModernCastle BTW here's a few more I found besides the Proton Pure.
Beyond Guardian Air
Omni Clean Air: this one claims it's hospital grade
Airocide True Filterless APS-300 Bacteria, Viruses and Mold Air Purifier: apparently it's made for NASA.
Would be great if you included all four in your next video. 👍
any idea about the Breathe Sans - Air Purifier. it says its a HEPA-13 and is $300 on sale from $450. I'm looking to combat a smoker in the house.
Unfortunately we haven't tested that model yet. I've also never heard of that brand, so I don't really have an opinion.
Thanks for this. Does the HEPA filters destroy the air pollutants or does it just capture them? I’m asking since in most cases in air purifiers there are usually secondary release when the filters get saturated
HEPA filters capture particulates
I understand it captures, but does it kill the particulate and convert to “fresh/healthy air”
@@rejoyceozieme HEPA filters only capture particulates, they do not "kill" them.
But it is false to say that by not "killing" the particulate that it is not creating "fresh/healthy air". HEPA filters are by far the most widely used and effective form of air filtration and purification, trusted by hospitals, surgery centers, clean rooms, and numerous other sensitive areas.

Hi there what do you think of the Hathaspace HSP001 Air Purifier? Thank you!!!
We tested it here - moderncastle.com/hathaspace-hsp001-review/
Overall, excellent performance, especially for the money.
What about the IQAir Health Pro 250? Would love to have it in the comparison.

We recently tested the IQAir Atem here - moderncastle.com/iqair-atem-review/ - we were really impressed with the design, build quality, and performance.
