Spacious room with simple white color tones and very minimized furniture selection made the house modernistic simple elegant. Nice to see this built project while we are making only dream homes as unbuilt.

I was looking for a big house in the suburbs, I would buy this. My one major complaint is that the traditional kidney shaped pool does not suit the interior but still there's a pool!

This is a teardown rebuild, with full Miele and Wolf appliances on a big lot, detached, nice area in Oakville. Houses that are older and not rebuild near it are listing for 1.8m+. There is no way this is going to be anywhere below 3m, if not much more. People citing 1.3m are probably looking at the price before the rebuild.
Beautiful modern home. Definitely my style. I’m suprised they were permitted to build a home that goes against the design aesthetic of the neighborhood.
esthetic can't normally be questioned, as long as you conform to all the local "building" bylaws. i.e. height, setbacks, lot coverage and square footage maximums
A lot of high end communities actually have rules regarding what kind of exterior you can have. How much green vs concrete can you have in front of your home, what kind of exterior finishes you can have etc. Some even go to the extent of deciding how much Christmas lighting you can have. This is mostly because the every house on the block contributes to the overall value of the neighborhood, so essentially the home prices of every home depends on the value of the their neighbors. Which means everyone should present pretty much the same aesthetic to maintain the value of all homes in that area.
These ultra-modern designs are striking. My impression is that they should be significantly less expensive to build than the traditional kinds of homes that flank this one. I wonder what it is like to actually live in one?
