  • Whether it's a bridal shower, bachelorette party, or even the big day itself, cookies are always a sweet way to add to the celebration! In the video, I will show you how to make a Wedding Gown with piped details that look like beautiful folds of fabric, a Diamond Ring embellished with gold accents and a cluster of roses, a beautiful Flower Bouquet (using an apple tree cookie cutter!), a Bride and Groom cookie, and a stenciled Just Married cookie - both using the double heart cookie cutter! And...you can recreate it with the NEW Wedding Cookie PROJECT KIT (see details below).

    I am just beginning to learn cookie decorating, and I am so happy to have found your youtube channel and your website. I have already purchased two of your kits. Thank you for putting together your kits and giving all the detailed instructions on your website. It is so helpful to me since I am still trying to figure out what I am doing. Your instructions save me from frustration by telling me exactly what I need to do. I look forward to more of your kits.

    Awesome tutorial! May i ask - on the gold painting on ring, i always have this problem
    Where my gold turns out like its pitted or more like the gold gets absorbed into the icing and it practically submerges in? Oh its horrible. Ive tried many types of gold and im wondering if its my icing causing this. Any tips on how to fix that ? Thanks so much!

    Thank you for your tutorial. I'm thinking of making these cookie for my future daughter in laws bridal shower. I am a beginner to cookie decorating but with practice I think I can manage. I would like to ask you, what time frame would you say I could make them ahead of time to ensure freshness. Any advice and tips for storing them? Also, love the decorating kit!

    • @TheFlourBoxShop
      @TheFlourBoxShop  Před 5 lety +6

      When working on a big project, you can break it up in phases. I'm not sure how many you'll be making. I like to write the plan out on paper. These times are a general estimate...for example, for 100 cookies:
      Monday (6-8 hours) - Mix Dough and chill (1.5 hours, + 2 hours inactive time), Prep Icing (1-2 hours depending on number of colors you are prepping), and Bake - 4 hours
      **store cookies overnight in ziplock or airtight containers
      Tuesday (10-12 hours) - Outline and Flood in Morning 5-6 hours and Details in Afternoon and evening 5-6 hours (sometimes I won't be able to work in the evening and I'll finish details the next day)
      **store cookies overnight in cool oven
      Wednesday (3 hours) - (Finish any details that still need to be piped) Pack cookies 3 hours (this will vary with how you pack them - twistie or heat seal plus a ribbon)
      When packed well, they would be fine for a weekend wedding. You can also make them in advance and FREEZE cookies up to 3 months in a freezer quality container.
      I hope this helps!

    Great tutorial Thank you. What size of tip do you use for piping? Thanks!!!

    • @TheFlourBoxShop
      @TheFlourBoxShop  Před 5 lety +1

      Typically I use tip #2 for outlining and most details. But I'll size down to a #1.5 or #1 for the delicate details (like the stems on the bouquet or the piped lines on the wedding dress.)

    How long does it take the flowers to completely dry and stay on the cookies so they won’t fall off?

    • @TheFlourBoxShop
      @TheFlourBoxShop  Před 5 lety

      I make the flowers the day before I make the cookies. They typically need at least 6-8 hours to dry. So I let them set-up overnight. Then once I 'glue' them onto the cookie with royal icing I would allow another hour or two of dry time to make sure they are secure. (see my decorating schedule for this project on this blog post - www.flourboxbakery.com/blogs/tidbits/how-to-decorate-five-wedding-cookies)

      @@tawnamorris7197 Awesome! I usually *try* to use the icing color of the background. That way if any icing oozes, it blends with the background. I didn't do this on the mini roses on the diamond ring and if you look close you can see a bit of green peaking out.
