    Music by AntiCon
Vincent Neil Wharton (born February 8, 1961), best known by the stage name Vince Neil, is an American musician. He is the lead vocalist and occasional rhythm guitarist of heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, which he fronted from their 1981 formation until his departure in 1992. Neil reunited with the band in 1996 and continued with them until the band's 2015 retirement, and again from the band's 2018 reunion onwards. Outside of Mötley Crüe, Neil has also released three studio albums as a solo artist - the most recent of which, Tattoos & Tequila, was released in 2010.
Mötley Crüe is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, lead guitarist Mick Mars and lead singer Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. They have also achieved seven platinum or multi-platinum certifications, nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (including 1989's Dr. Feelgood, which is Mötley Crüe's only album to reach number one), twenty-two Top 40 mainstream rock hits, and six Top 20 pop singles. The band experienced several short-term lineup changes in the 1990s and 2000s; these included the introduction of vocalist John Corabi (who was Neil's replacement from 1992 to 1996) and drummers Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney, both of whom filled in for Lee following his departure from Mötley Crüe in 1999; he returned to the band in 2004. More recently in 2022 guitarist Mick Mars announced his retirement from touring with the band, with former Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 taking his place on live duties.
In late 1984, Finnish hard rock band Hanoi Rocks was on their second American tour and their first to reach California. The two gigs meant to be held in Los Angeles sold out in only twenty minutes. On the day they arrived in Los Angeles, December 8, Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley and the other members of the band (with the exception of singer Michael Monroe, who was recovering from a fractured ankle) visited Neil's home and spent the day in Redondo Beach. After partying for hours, Neil and Razzle decided to visit to a local liquor store in Neil's De Tomaso Pantera. Neil, who was drunk, lost control of the car and hit an oncoming vehicle. The two occupants of the other car were seriously injured and suffered brain damage, and Dingley was killed. Neil was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with the crash. His blood alcohol content was 0.17, well above the California legal limit at that time of 0.10. In September 1985, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Edward Hinz Jr. sentenced Neil to 30 days in jail and five years' probation. Neil was ordered to pay $2.6 million in restitution to the victims of the crash and undergo 200 hours of community service. Neil was paroled after serving 15 days in jail for good behavior; Mötley Crüe dedicated their third studio album, Theatre of Pain, to Razzle.
Nicholas Charles Dingley (2 December 1960 - 8 December 1984), better known by his stage name Razzle, was the English drummer of Finnish glam rock band Hanoi Rocks from 1982 until his death.
He was buried at Holy Cross Church in Binstead, on the Isle of Wight in 1984.
Neil dedicated Theatre of Pain, Mötley Crüe's third studio album, to Razzle. In 2015 Neil admitted to Ultimate Classic Rock that he wrote a check for $2.5 million to the courts, so he only ever served 19 days of a 30-day sentence for the reckless death
Neil's account of this event, while contradictory to witnesses accounts, is documented in Mötley Crüe's 2001 autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band. Max Milner portrayed Razzle in the 2019 film adaptation.

The fine Vince paid was for the victims in the other car. Razzle's family didn't receive one red cent. I saw an interview of Vince saying himself he got off easy and felt guilty about it. He also said he thought Skylar's death was his karma.
Out of Motley Crüe, Mick is the most stand up guy. I believe Vince has a bigger heart now and still suffers the guilt of killing Razzle. I like Vince a whole lot better than Tommy. I can barely stomach Nikki at all.

What a tragic story it's like my friends daughter who was 20. 2 years ago she was back seat passenger in a soft top with top down. The driver was fine the other passenger was seriously injured but recovered while keegan my friends beautiful daughter was killed instantly almost cut in half. The driver has only just gone to trial as he pleaded not guilty. It went to court last month he then pleaded guilty so waiting for sentencing in a few weeks. Now the driver was still aloud to drive no jail time no fine still waiting for justice. Something should be done to the drivers who cause death or serious injury shouldn't be allowed to just walk and carry on with their lives having taken other life. Anyway I shall stop there. To me, at the time, these guys were stars who could do no wrong. Now, looking back, it's amazing when I think about the fact that it was Tommy who warned Vince not to get behind the wheel. We used to hang out quite a bit especially in The Marquee Club and Gossips in Soho. Great times especially for a young punk rocker who was fresh outta high school hanging out with members of Hanoi Rocks.
One surreal moment I always fondly remember was being at my dads playing my guitar when my mate Adam, Razzle and Nasty Suicide turned up, we were probably going to The Marquee or 100 Club or similar. I always remember Nasty raving about the tone I was getting from my Leo valve practice amp. He doesn’t give a damn and I don’t care his daughter died, he’s taken enough lives in one night. He just needs to realize you took two young peoples lives that now are vegetables basically you took their lives away by your stupidity. Awesome job again, Scott. I was never that into Motley Crue so I guess I never digested this story when it originally broke back in the day. But I love your take on it, and I can't agree with you more. I've been in a few car accidents - and the way you describe the "explosion" and crunch, etc - it immediately took me back there. Fortunately for me and those involved - it was mostly "minor" accidents, but serious all the same. Anyway - thanx for the story and interesting facts. Take care, my friend.

RIP Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley. I was a HUGE Hanoi Rocks fan. I discovered them through GNR. Izzy made his stage image after Andy McCoy.
Edit: not one dime of the restitution went to Razzle's family. I saw an interview where Vince says he still feels guilty. Sharise was pregnant with Skylar when this happened, and Vince said he believes Skylar's death was his fault too. He said it was his karma for getting off so easy. He also said that he didn't ask Doc McGhee to fight so hard for that easy time, but he didn't reject it when it was handed down. He had to stay sober during tours as Tommy and Nikki were shooting heroin and ridiculing Vince for having to stay clean. He eventually couldn't handle it and started drinking again, but he never did heroin.
Andy McCoy gave Nikki the shot that made him overdose. Nikki wasn't hit with a baseball bat, nor thrown in a dumpster. Andy did CPR until the ambulance arrived. Andy left when Nikki showed back up and told him he was stupid.

I do remember that I heard the loudest out of place bang. I knew what it was and I ran around the corner to the accident scene and saw a car had hit a light pole. I called emergency services and the lady driving was okay. In 1993, a girl I went to high school with had came from college and brought her best friend back to my hometown for the Christmas holiday break. They decided to join her brother and his girlfriend for a night out. Unfortunately, the brothers girlfriend chose to drive drunk. They skidded on the icy roads and smashed into a tree. Both of the girls in the back seat were killed instantly. The brother in the front seat had life changing brain trauma. Our community is still struggling

I have severe neck & upper back injuries from 4 car wrecks.
First one was 3/10/1975. My boyfriend was driving his 1965 Chevy Nova & I was sitting cross legged on the front passenger seat, leaning my back against the door.
In 1975, there was no seat belt laws. And his car that was 10 years old had come from the factory without any seatbelts in it.
He had come to my house for dinner & we had plans to go to a movie about 30 miles one way from my parents house.
My dad was really quiet that night. He said, please don't go out anywhere tonight.
    Why??
It was the date he had lost his mom at the age of 13.
Of course we went. It was apparently "urgent" that we see this movie, and yet now, I cannot remember what the movie was.
We left the theater and turned onto my street.
As we did my boyfriend said, see, nothing happened! Your dad is sure paranoid!
We got to my house and were sitting on the street, waiting for the on coming traffic to make a left I to the driveway.
I remember hearing the ticking noise of the turn signals.
I was looking at him and remember seeing the lights reflecting off the rear view mirror onto his face from the car approaching behind us.
Then he started to say, "Oh f#$k, we are going to...."
The lights went out for me.
Next thing I remember was waking up with my butt where my feet should have been, my right leg on the drivers seat, & my left leg stuck between the front seats.
I could hear people yelling. One of them was my boyfriend who was screaming that the car was going to explode and I was going to die.
I felt this tremendous pain on the right side of my head. I looked upwards and could see my dad, my neighbor, a cop, & my boyfriend as they yanked on the passenger door.
Finally my neighbor came with a crow bar. This was before the rule about not moving someone who is injured, and the area only had 5 ambulances. All the ambulances were at a mukti-vehicle wreck on the turnpike.
Once the door was open, the cop reached in and got me out. He helped me over to the step near the front door of my house and my mom was holding a towel on my head.
Of course since this was right in front of my house, every neighbor was outside to see what happened.
Then I see a guy, who I never saw before, running from a woman (never saw her before either) who was whacking the guy on the head with her purse.
I remember asking my mom who they were and why she was hitting him.
My mom said that is the driver who hit you and the one hitting him is his wife. She was screaming at him that he should have let her drive because he was so drunk. We also heard her yell that it was his 10th accident of that month--it was the 10th of March.
He had tires with zero tread, dents all over his car, his DL had been suspended for 4 past DUI's, & no insurance.
The cop drove my mom & I to the hospital. This was prior to CT Scans or MRI's, so all they could do then was x-rays. Nothing broken, so just whiplash. Just??
They gave me a prescription for pain pills and bandaged up the right side of my head as I had a big gash on it. They wanted bro do stitches but said they wanted to shave the side of my head. No thanks!
I got home at about 3 AM. My mom sat up with me as the doctor said do not let her fall asleep until 7 AM due to the concussion.
When I finally went to sleep, pain woke me up at around 10 AM. I sat up and could not lift my head up.
I screamed for my mom who ran in. She saw me looking down and thought it was a spider in my bed.
I told her I couldn't lift my head up!
This time she took me to a different hospital. The doctor there said I had torn the muscles & tendons in my neck. They put me in a hard plastic collar.
I was in the hard collar for 2 months and then a soft collar for another 6 months.
I had no health insurance so I suddenly had medical bills coming in. He had no car insurance.
I found a lawyer who did some digging and found the guy owned his house. He filed a motion to take it. He had already been charged with yet another DUI, but this one with injuries.
His name was William Bender, but my mom called him Fender Bender. He came to our house after he had been notified that we were taking his house.
My mom said to stay in my room and don't come out. She told him, I'm very sorry, here is her lawyers number, you need to speak to him.
I have had neck & back pain off & on until 2004 when I was hit by a lady who ran a stop sign. Same in 2006. And in 2016.
Sometimes I think I have a bulls eye on me.
In 2013, I had an MRI and right under where the guy in 1975 injured my head, I now have MS. I also have Lupus.
I think that wreck in 1975 destroyed my health.
That guy never did serve ANY jail time. He was so drunk that he was falling down before his wife was chasing him.
If you want to drink, great. But there is ZERO excuse for a DUI!
During the week between Christmas & New Year's Eve, Florida has a program that is funded by MADD, bars, restaurants, AAA Auto Club, etc. If you are out and have too much to drink, they send a tow truck which takes you & your car home! There is no cost to you. It is cheaper than a car wreck and a DUI now a days.
Estimated cost of first DUI here is $10,000.
While I realize that for Vince Neil that would have been nothing to pay. At least he was forced to pay a few million since the judge didn't seem to give him a long time in jail.

Most of his life he was a children church pastor and never drank. My younger half sisters never knew about what happened till decades later. I always knew but Mom ask me to never talk about it, so I never did. But others around at the time including my real father all told me my step father wasn't driving, his gf Jackie was and recently discovered she was pregnant. So he took the rap. Maybe he didn't talk about it because he didn't want to lie or blame..idk. Neil didn't only thwart accountability- he continued a reckless lifestyle. Young people make mistakes I know I was reckless at times, so just grateful I never hurt anybody. But to kill somebody and continue such mistakes is something I can't wrap my head around.

They took their final bows in April of 2009 after playing 8 farewell shows on six consecutive days at Europe’s oldest rock club in Helsinki, Finland. Michael Monroe, their lead singer, continued as solo artist afterwards, less glam as before, but still a rock legend going strong to this day. Yet, in all those years, he made sure Razzle was never forgotten, dedicating songs to him during live performances, keeping his memory alive.

'I'm a living wreck, I live in Tooting Bec!' - Razzle RIP. Hanoi Rocks had a song called Tragedy, a song called Dead by Christmas, and a song called Malibu Beach Nightmare.
It happened between Xmas & New Year, it was Redondo, not Malibu, but it sure was a tragedy.Vince Neil swore he would never do it again. But Vince Neil is a serial DUI offender. The drive was 2 minutes, maybe could have walked it, or got a cab?
Michael Monroe split the band up, he felt the band was never the same again without Razzle, unfortunately Vince Neil never really learned his lesson, I am sure he regrets it, but he never really served his time either.,

Vince Neil's condo was Chyna's????? That's nuts! I wonder why the drunk driver always walks away unscathed, but others die? 🤔
