  • Take Fo’ Records is back and introduces its newest artist Monsta Wit Da Fade. The latest 2020 single and music video “Ma Lil Yea” is now available on all digital platforms.
The term “Ma Lil Yea” is a Nola slang, meaning your Boyfriend, Girlfriend or Significant other. A lil’ yea is your boo thang or your bae. It is truly a New Orleans original lingo, as in “that’s my lil’ yea, that’s my baby.”
Keishaun Patterson aka Monsta Wit Da Fade aka Governor Monsta, is the originator of the classic Bounce workout favorite -Hut, Hut (Football Twerk) and nephew to popular New Orleans own King of Bounce, DJ Jubilee. Monsta plans to keep the New Orleans musical family legacy and “Bounce Music” torch alive. In a city renowned for its musical families such as Marsalis, Batiste and Andrews, it nonetheless still remains somehow startling just how that tradition keeps on going and going, and now via New Orleans Bounce Music.
When asked what makes his new single “Ma Lil Yea” special, he said “it’s a fun song for the ladies that teaches them how to do the instructional dance”. It’s refreshing to hear his positive outlook on music and like his uncle, DJ Jubilee, he doesn’t use profanity or promote violence in his songs. “I love to dance and give people what they want, happiness and enjoyment of life” says Monsta.
“My Lil Yea” was produced and arranged by Beat Doctor. The video was filmed in uptown New Orleans, 24/7 Films & Photography filmed and Schooling Talent -directed and choreographed the music video.
