My name is Jens Larsen, Danish Jazz Guitarist, and Educator. The videos on this channel will help you explore and enjoy Jazz. Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.
The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs and videos on jazz guitars.

I like ranch dressing on my salad and for nostalgia i use 1000 islands dressing. Seriously, Jens larsen is the best, without any doubt. thank you Jens.
I get both good solid information, and inspiration from Jens Larsen's videos. Thank you , Jens, for helpiing me become a better player, and increasing my enjoyment of playing.
Fantastic analogy. I will show this to my students in my high school Music classes when teaching improv
Excellent!
I needed this information 10’years ago. Im a roadmap guy, best money i ever spent on anything. Amazing teaching, next level. Ty Jens ❤
Thank you! Tha tis really great to hear!
Improvisation with knowledge of how to theory and the fretboard helps so much. Wonderful stuff Jens!
I wish you were my teacher 30 years ago! Great lesson Lars!
Thanks! 😃
I was just looking for this! Thanks again, Jens!
You're so welcome!
I am currently working on learning jazz on my guitar. I have been strugling to find content to guide me to learn jazz. This channel has been the best one to learn so far. At least to know where should I look for content and how to target it: creating exercices as a study guide and all that stuff. Thank you man
The thumbnail is gold!
Glad you like it!
Thank you Jens for a great lesson. You present a rock solid foundation for crafting melodies and solos. Something I've been revisiting attentively.
Glad it was helpful!
This was a very helpful video! Thanks!
You're welcome!
I wish I could take in person kessons from Lars. Very helpful and great musivian
Jens, very well done! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Great lesson, thank you! 🎶
Glad you liked it!
Brilliant, subscribed - thanks for these free lessons. This was so helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Great lesson Jens! The title could also be" Improvising-Start Here", ( your title is much better!) Definitely more than one lesson contained in this one. Will be coming back to this over the next few months as I go through each step. Again, a wealth knowledge from you sir, and presented in an easy to understand manner.
Delicious lesson! This analogy is so common, and this is a brilliant demonstration of that idea. Well done!
Awesome, thank you!
This is an excellent, excellent lesson on getting started with improvising jazz lines. Thanks Jens!
Thank you,Maestro JL⭐🌹⭐
You are very welcome
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent lesson Jens (as usual) easy to follow and put into practice, even for me as relative beginner.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much. Really like your lessons. After it wanna to practice
Go for it!
Love the thumbnail! 😂
Failing to compose 251 lines was the number one limiting factor that stopped my progress as an aspiring jazz guitar player for 10 years. I took lessons for years and had multiple teachers teach me a lot of great stuff, but I sucked but they couldn't figure out why I sucked. That was the missing link to make my biggest breakthrough in jazz since college.
Does the comparison work and it is helpful to think about it like that? 🙂

The Swedish chef has become Danish…Cooking! 👍
I wish!
i was puzzled to see gordon ramsey😅
Great!
Glad you like it!
But i just watched a Barry Harris masterclass where he says "rules are more important than scales" ! this was in the context of talking about bebop scales however
I can only say there is a lot of gourmet notes on it! Tasty
Glad you liked it 😁
Music is like cooking and jazz is french cuisine
I've composed and recorded my own licks and riffs that should have worked but sounded static. Why ? Because I started them on the 1. I didn't know what a difference starting them on the 4& or 1& would make. I treated down and up beats equally. I know a little bit more about Forward Motion now. Rhythm makes a definite difference.🤩
Keep at it! You are on the right track!
@@JensLarsen Thanks Jens, will do. 😁
I was actually wondering how long you would be able to keep the original thumbnail.
I'm just testing if other ones are better
Could you please show us the Vegan version? Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge!
This isn't vegan?
@@JensLarsen You are actually right! It is! Although I saw some eggs in the video.

Can someone tell me what the difference between bebob and "regular Jazz" is?
And what about chords that are from different scales ? what would be the steps to go about em
Wouldn't it be the same just using that scale?
The thing that sometimes bothers me, lets say I have a
1st chord: D major
2nd Chord: F minor
I know what notes and why and many options to go on each chord, but what do i think to "glue them" ? Yes imagine a musical line and thats the soul anwer but id love to "math " it.
Is it simply aiming for a certain note over the 2nd chord then just go by ear and note choice , or Is there more ways to think about how to link the available notes of the 1st chord with the availalbe notes of the 2nd?@@JensLarsen
@@cechichan Yes playing towards a target note will work.
You could voice-lead the two chords, but you could also learn to analyze them in the key they are in and in that way understand what notes make the clearest target notes and what the flow of the progression is about.
@@JensLarsen appreciate it! :D

Look into getting CZcams Premium if you haven't already done so.
If the price would be alright. I can't get around 12 euro's a month for something that has always been free. like half that would already raise my eyebrows severely. 5 euro's I would happily pay that@@motorbikeray
I didn't know ole Gordon was a guitar connoisseur... However, I've seen his mouth play a pretty good tune on someones ears when he wants to..
We'll see 😁
