    Wow, I saw enough to convince me to stay with my dual tank setup and just stop frequently for fuel. Thanks for showing all that is involved!

      Haha! There is a lot involved, but the extra 100 miles per tank will be nice

    That is a good idea with the access cover in case your fuel pump goes out. I did that on my truck. Just welded flat bar to the floor to keep cover flush with the floor. Welded hinge to the access cover. Thanks to ethanol in the gas fuel pumps do go out. Also, I would add rubber padding on the contact area where it touches the body. I really like my factory plastic gas tank but want the extra capacity of this tank. Great video!

      Thanks! Yeah, there are some small rubber strips where the tank and body meet.

    Ouch….Love the honesty. My mistake with my tank was not measuring the pick up tube right….my 23 gallons tank is now about a 20 gallon tank.

    Awesome channel! Learned alot from you! In the process of doing this install. Can anyone tell me how to reroute the exhuast pipes or have pics to show? The tank is butting up against the exhuast right now.. Yikes! Appreciate any assistance you can give.

    Thank you for the video! Would it be possible to see how you wired the pump? I have the Pro Flow 3 and want to install the 23 gallon tank.Ive been concerned about how to wire it considering there isnt a wiring harness for the pump.

    Put a couple hinges on the panel you cut out on the opposite side I need a stopper something flat sticking outAnd it will be a swinging door

    I too put in a 23 gallon tank a couple years ago, and it is nearly impossible to do it correctly without cutting a "hatch" in the bed. I would absolutely tell anyone to do what you did.

    • @NashvilleEarlyBronco
      @NashvilleEarlyBronco  Před 2 lety

      Yeah the more I looked at it, the more certain I was about cutting it up.

    Unless it's a flared fitting always use thread seal

    I’ve read you need to use high pressure hose clamps on the Fuel pump line….How come the hose clamps on the fuel pump lines are low pressure? Is it just high pressure after the pump towards the throttle body?

    Keep an eye on all the ports for leakage. I have an early design of that tank and whomever welded it decide to stop on the filler neck vent tube before welding a complete circle. Guess what, it is leaking where the dude stopped.

    Is a 23 gallon tank a direct replacement for the rear tank (oddball) in a 1977? My aux tank has already been removed and now my rear tank is leaking- looking for an alternative. Thanks

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO….I got scared. PTSD from the Fitech Efi control module on your workbench.

    Any issues with the vent lines leaking fuel with steady flow when you fill the tank full?

  • @charliestefo5387

    My install was kind of similar, the positive & negative connectors that connects inside the tank to the fuel pump is siphoning gas up through both wires. Yeah weird! Between the copper and the insulation. So where I have my butt connectors it’s oozing gas up, I re tighten the two nuts that hold the wire’s stationary too squeeze those wires but unsuccessful . Could you or someone give me some helpful hints on how to stop this leak? By the way it does this also while engine is off from I guess the pressure. Thanks for your videos.

    Couldn't you lift the body off the mounts/frame to reach the pump section?

    • @NashvilleEarlyBronco
      @NashvilleEarlyBronco  Před 2 lety

      Lifting the body takes a lot of time, but yes you could. If you were replacing the body mounts, this would be a great time to swap the tanks. But lifting the body just for the tank would be too much work
