Vanessa Mae is very lovely and she has a beautiful soul which resonate while playing the violin. Despite reading the article about her Tiger Mother, I think she might have a happy childhood with her stepfather (Graham Nicholson- 1:59) who is an amateur violinist who shared her interest and brought her a 150,000 pound violin. I hope that her mother will reconcile with her one day as Vanessa Mae has reached out to her for many years. Bravo to Vanessa Mae who overcome many challenges in life and winning the suit again FIS! She is a true fighter and she deserves to be an Olympian!

Fact is that these days there are plenty of musicians that succesfully blend classical music with other styles and even before Vanessa Mae tried there were some who tried it.
I guess back in the '90's it was still somewhat rare, wich of course explains the concern of some peoplev back then if it would work, but it's clear that Vanessa set the tone of what was to come. Current stars like Lindsay Stirling certainly prove that.

I DID SEE VANESSA IN ONE OF HER ONLY AMERICAN CONCERTS YEARS AGO AT A ROCK CLUB IN HOLLYWOOD CALLED "GAZZARIS" WHEN SHE WAS TRYING TO GET A RECORD DEAL OR SOMETHING, BEFORE SHE GOT REAL FAMOUS, AT ABOUT 16 YEARS OLD, IT IS KIND OF A SMALL VENUE, AND THE AUDIENCE WAS MOSTLY RECORD EXECS, AND BIG SHOTS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH HER, AND HOW TO MARKET THIS CLASSICAL GODDESS..........I MENTION THAT ONLY TO SAY THIS, THAT I REMEMBER SEEING VANESSA'S MOTHER, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER THE EVENT, WALKING AROUND ALONE IN THE PARKING LOT, CARRYING VANESSA'S VIOLIN CASE AND THINKING, I HOPE SHE DOESN'T GET MUGGED OR SOMETHING, IT JUST SEEMED KINDA CRAZY TO BE CARRYING AROUND THAT MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR VIOLIN ALONE IN A PARKING LOT, IT ALMOST NEEDS ITS OWN BODYGUARD !!!
