GOS,H I LOVE LISTENING TO MARK FERAR AND SMOKIN' TIRES ON A FINE THURSDAY NIGHT
He actually spells it Marc.
I echo this, and shout f#*k you at my phone.
HELL YA BORTHER GOBBLESS
I found the radio show that Mark was on. It was the John Clay Wolf Show and the clip your looking for is 2:52:00 into the the stream they did on Sept. 12 . Unfortunately there's no audio of the host calling Matt back after he hung up.
Thank you.
Just found the clip. Campy trash. Good call on bailing.

On cat names, we have a rescue that is missing a back leg, we named him "Morgan"
Mark Ferar's Book " Parking Money for Dummies " is a pillar of automotive journalisim.
Oh yeah! From the CZcams channel, The Tired Smoker!
What a horror show
Never get tired of Crew Shows
Always the top comment
Followed by timestamp guy
We will send the jet 🫡
Go Matt. Putting yourself out there on talk shows, train shows, 3 wheel cars and whatever. I respect your staying open to new experiences -- I could learn from that.
For anybody wondering it’s the “John Clay Wolfe Show” it’s not on CZcams for obvious reasons 😆. There is a post of him announcing the upcoming interview on his Facebook. The show does indeed not look good.
Mick foley of smoking torque kicks ass
I once named my cat Mugen because i was inspired by both the Honda tuning house and one of the main protagonists from the anime 'Samurai Champloo'.
I *do* listen to every show you make, but I also realise I'm definitely in a very nerd minority for that.
I get that you need to drive traffic by having known/popular guests, and I don't mind it. Many of those people still have great stories to tell.
Just know that there's a bunch of us out here that appreciate the less streamed ones also. We trust you to have interesting guests on, and it's just sad that others don't.
You know what you're about, and I thought most of your listeners did too, and would extend the same trust.
Anyway, love your shit, keep it going!
At 42:09 you guys talk e-bikes vs scooters and I spent a lot of time debating this question and ended up with a new Honda Navi, built in cargo box, 110cc CVT for under 2400… I don’t think you can beat it
There's a grand father that picks up his grandson from my daughter's school, he goes on a electric scooter, about 15-20 mph on the street, dirt, grass, no helmet, flip flop. I watch him pass me daily. Props to him for not giving an f.
Crew Show? Anotha One
1:16:00 Matt going "People don't wanna meet new people"
wow, how sad and true
and well delivered
with that Farah's fatalism
There's a handful of companies in the UK who are offering E46 M3 SMG manual conversions (incl CSL), and IIRC it is pretty reasonably priced (£4-5k ish)
go to the railroad museum in sacramento... its like the only reason to go to sacramento lol, it was a nice day trip for us
Anyone know what the name of the Podcast the Matt ‘went’ on?Super curious since he said it was terrible.
John Clay Wolfe
@@vincej3573 Man the thumbnails look horrific *and* Ed Bolian appeared on it so that's another seal of quality.
Man I am super curious about listening to it as well but it seems it ain't online anymore if it ever was........that's kind of hilarious, sorry Matt! but lmfao
Edit: it's so flimsy I sorta found the episode he was supposed to appear in? but lol
The CarPro Show is the most listened-to auto advice show in the country thanks to automotive expert Jerry Reynolds and his trusty sidekick Kevin McCarthy. Listen to the CarPro Radio Show live every Saturday from 12 noon - 3:00 PM EST.
I think I found the culprit.
So I have some one liners where I’ve had C-level execs quote me on them over the years. Regarding the radio show, the applicable one: “Sometimes you should never burn bridges; you need to nuke them from orbit, just to make sure (you will never deal with those people again in your life).” Props for nuking it from orbit. Correct call.
You guys are going to like the new iPhone with direct connection. Also the USB standard and film standard too. Plus you can write off the new kit right? And do you have money off for trade-in?
So I just got rid of a 2018 MK7.5 Golf R 35k on the clock had it for 6 months.. Stage 1 APR software, so clutch needs replacement immediately with even the low torque file.. get the DSG if you plan on modding the car... it was quick on its feet though. It was luxurious for a hot hatch...
Can we see Matt in a train conductor overalls and hat? I think we need to.
If you make a Mark Ferrar shirt I’ll be buying it
The no helmet on a slingshot conversation reminded me of the cicada swarms on the east coast. Riding my motorcycle while swarm was around was like running to cover on a paintball course. Wouldn't want that on my face
Damn, had no idea you raced Lasers! My dad and I had some of the best times I can recall on a Laser we had growing up.
Thanks for shouting out my best friend Shane Gillis
8V A3 Quattro PP (S-Line) owner here (the AWD equivalent of the MK7 GTI like the S3 to the Golf R): 💯 spot on response regarding the Audi improving the 3 series exterior while I feel like the MK8 R/GTI line felt like too much was going on compared to the MK7s.
Great show, my thoughts on why it costs less to add ceramic brakes than to just buy them as parts is they are subtracting the difference in cost of the regular brakes that would normally come on the car.
The FRS/BRZ/GT86/GR86 does have an overly active TRACTION control system, but the Stability control works great and should stay on. The traction control would kill throttle inputs, but the Stability control keeps sliding in check. Pressing the button once disables the Traction but keeps Stability.
Wow that radio spot seems terrible LOL

As someone who has owned 2 e24s, they're actually not terrible to maintain as long as you buy a good rust free car. SLS is a red flag for me personally, so I stay away from 87-89 cars. Early euro m6s don't have the SLS so that's what I currently have (officially designated m635csi, has the m88).
The MacMaster, a fellow CZcamsr, has a Porsche Taycan electric thingy, which he regrets buying. As a long time Porsche owner, they took his 'easy-open' door locks OFF his car as they said it was installed by accident at delivery.
As a podcast producer for 9 years, nothing was right with that show.
What show
Nothing like a show where no ones in frame the backgrounds make no sense and everyone is talking over each other like their 10 beers deep at a superbowl party
Was there really much of a show?
Any links to the show or at least it's name?
Starts at 2:58:40 on the livestream the show posted 5 days ago.
Is your time stamp supposed to go to that radio show Matt was on?
Yes, the video is called "John Clay Wolfe Show LIVE"
No audio of it 😔
I’m really upset we don’t get to listen to the phone call
That guys Podcast is fucking awful.
I have watched more of this show than I have any other channel for some time. All I guess I needed was some intelligent conversation about automotive subjects. Thanks.
1:16:45 my friends Sheltie is named Kimi after Kimi Raikkonen
The part cost difference is due to markup and the lack of economies of scale because manufacturers cannot negotiate spares the same way they negotiate parts for the factory due to numbers and lead times.
PCCB's seem a poor choice for replacement these days when you can go to surface transforms for a better replacement for less money.
BEV sales growth are actually stalling besides Tesla. Yes electrification will be the next trend in the Automotive industry, but the predictions for total BEV adoption are quite off. Still believe in the next few decades ICEs will still be around and a big percentage of sales. So Automakers rushing to just produce BEVs could actually be more prone to get bankrupt in the process.
For a reason all of the suddenly Ford backed off in their BEV production numbers predictions, as timeline for a complete production switch towards BEVs.
Fords EV efforts are trashing their performance, losing over a billion dollars each quarter. Electric sales down 27% for Ford.
Question about the WRX, CTR and Integra...
What can you afford because you can get a WRX for 30k and the Teggy costs 50k
I picked up a brand new 23 WRX premium for 3k under MSRP recently. Wonderful daily driver and a much better "sum of all the parts" vehicle than what the raw numbers say. Swapped a Kona N for it and no regrets at all.
So you can get high mile 360 spider for about $70k and potentially be about $90k in with a manual swap? That sounds like good fizz for buck ratio.
If anyone finds that video to that morning show with matt farah do send it here thanks
Matt I watched your GR86 racecar video the other day that you mentioned was filmed about a year ago.. Damn dude, you're looking pretty svelte these days.
Kind of sounded like that radio station targeted and trolled Matt. Matt pointing out that they sound "right wing" makes me wonder if they don't like Matt's political views and wanted something exactly like his reaction to happen.
"People dont want to meet new people" - sad that this is the case...i love some of the non-famous new people you havw brought on...alwaya great guests...
Speaking on the FRS traction control/ESC, as another owner, it's really aggressive, regardless of what tires you're on. Sport mode is a little better, but it still gets touchy if you turn in "too fast", or with sudden elevation changes, basically if it thinks you might understeer, regardless of whether you actually are. I like to drive very tight, twisty roads and I usually stick with sport mode, but it does intervene at times that it really shouldn't, even with the PS4S tires I have on it now. I don't push the limits of traction, but it often intervenes at probably 60-70%% of the limit, even in sport. It also will kill power for several seconds if you chirp the tires on a 1-2 shift in a straight line. Overall I would say that the sport behavior is what I would expect from fully on in most other cars, and it's such a predictable car that even with TC fully off, it's not going to bite you unless you fuck up far beyond what ESC could ever hope to save you from.
It may not be one of the biggest deposits on Earth, but there is a lithium mine in the permitting stage about 20 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina. The locals are NOT happy.
... so did Johnny Knoxville shave a patch out out of Zack's hair on his right side? No one addressed this?
It should be illegal to charge a monthly fee to access technology that does not have monthly overhead.
They put that show on our terrestrial radio on weekend mornings. Its honestly garbage.

G-Wagon Headlight: wasn't there a story about how Mercedes refuses to serialize them because making them trackable would cost them millions in replacement sales?
When people email my friend and forget the second T at the end of his name he drops the last letter of their name. Usually they get the hint.
Has to be the John K Wolff show, it’s on terrestrial radio and is horrible.
1:21:07
Be really careful with this line of thinking
This can make you become locked in a niche and prevent diversification of your platform, which unfortunately means you'll just stagnate and slowly fade away as yoyr audience slowly dissipates and new people dont arrive to replace them
Who knows? That guest might trigger a huge surge of interest.
There’s absolutely no way this isn’t the car pro show.
It was not. I thought it might be and I have to say those guys seem nice and helpful. Lots of commercials though.
Not entirely true that Porsche has never taken money and never delivered the car. Remember the very first one?
The people on that podcast called him uptight and bitchy. Not a great way to get other guests
As far as watching your show with unknown guests, I can only speak for myself when I say that when I look at the thumbnail and 1 line about who the guest is, I have to make the decision on whether I think that show might be interesting enough for me to spend 1.5 hours of my time. If I see Gordon Murray for example, I know that it will be an interesting show because he is a very knowledgeable and interesting person. However, if I don't know the guest and the 1 line doesn't grab me, then I will most likely just pass it by.

Not the culprit. That is a good show.
It's the John Clay Wolfe show
I'll be first :)
Pick the WRX. Your kid is going to absolutely trash whatever vehicle you buy...
The couple $100 million in cash that Tesla may have received from roadster deposits, is nothing to them. They have $20 Billion in cash.
It's a spot in line for the car. Something you would have to beg a Porsche dealer for and then pay $100k over sticker for.
wow first view haha
Matt's ego cant handle his name being mispronounce
Hey moron* your right !
If they're willing to send him a private jet to get him out there they should know who he is and how to say his name. Them not caring what his name is and being right wing jabronis doesn't help.
I get it if its a complicated name but its " Matt " lol
It’s because he’s a legend in his own mind and can’t fathom someone not knowing who he is
If your name is Matt and someone calls you Mark, you correct them and then they do it again I'd also bounce
Fizzy car under $80k? GT350R if you can deal with a slightly large car. Lotus is a great choice too tho.
