I grew up extremely poor. My parents couldn't afford Christmas let alone Easter. I was around 12 and woke up Easter morning (not excited) It was just another Sunday morning. My sister and I had Easter baskets and we were so excited just to get low quality chocolate and one small can of mtn dew. It might seem really stupid and common but from someone who grew up with nothing it was like winning the lotto. The icing on the cake tho was my mom was in contact with someone at her job that had kittens...me and my sister got two kittens that morning and it is one of my greatest memories and I am close to 40.
That is definitely a wonderful memory, and it sounds like you were blessed with something that money cannot buy...L-O-V-E! Treasure it.
@@davidfrania8990 Oh I definitely have. We grew up poor but my dad always tried his best to make any holiday special and he did. The fact we grew up poor he always had someway to make it special and memorable. I had my son 2007 and I am happy he got to spend time with his grandpa before his passing. I was financially in a better place but my dad was always a kid at heart. My son and my dad always loved fireworks. It was their tradition since he was 8 and he is going to be 18 in January. I love my dad and I am happy my son got to share so many memories before his passing.
Really sweet story, thanks for sharing it🙏 I think we were actually lucky for not being spoiled as children, we learned self dependence.

And that you and your sister had loving and very hardworking parents! I really do hope that your son had and has the opportunity to make the best memories with his grandparents. As someone that doesn't have a good relationship with her grandparents bc my mom unfortunately didn't/doesn't have loving parents, it's beautiful to hear of stories like that!

Yeeeeeesss! At my grandparents, we put herbs and flowers on the eggs, wrapped it with a piece of tights and cooked them in water with onion skins. After cutting the tights off, we polished it with a bacon rind. They where beautiful! I miss this time… 🥺

You are too young to rmember such such things.. but when I was a child, my mother will fill us the plastic L'eggs pantyhose containers with candy and use them for Easter egg hunt. We have a yard full of daffodils, so I would go out every year and find my candy hidden in the daffodils. IT was so wonderful.

I can always count on nick’s content to make me laugh and improve my day.
The best use of peeps is peep wars.
You stick a toothpick in the front of two peeps and put them on a plate facing each other. Leave a little room between them because when you microwave them, they expand.
So you and a friend choose a peep, microwave them, and when they expand eventually one of the peeps will pop the other one.
