Why not also encourage self-directed learning groups? It worked for Ben Franklin and his friends, Franklin called the Junto (what they called their group) the best school. Learn about it by reading Ben Franklin's autobiography (Yale edition is fully indexed and has great annotations) or Google "How to Start a Franklin Circle."

I totally agree with you. I have been an autodidact all my life.

This kind of approach to learning suits me well, I am interested in acquiring practical skills through experience unlike memorizing theories that in the end are not applied in real life situations.

When they got to the point where they were talking about what he was learning. I was like hey thats what I am doing! 8:30 I've always rather known Spanish, but I've been dabbling in Italian, French, and more. On top of that I am learning to program for websites (Learned a bit about SQL today)[Note: I've been up since 6, and it's 7 right now, gotta work at 8]
On the side I learn about Emotional Intelligence, micro computers, game development, and much more.

Currently on a course that uses SDL as its primary educational methodology. Never have I learned LESS or felt more confused in my life. Might work for a few people? But I think they're the minority not the majority...

That's awfully shallow, why does it need to be a celebrity? I find it refreshing to get the perspective of someone you could possibly meet as opposed to someone in their own bubble.
