    I think Thierrys words have been misinterpreted (like a good journalist does, if he wants to get some reactions), because it isnt necessarily about part time drivers but more about their starting position.Also this year the calendar doesnt have enough tarmac and most gravel rallies this year are more on the sandy/loose side of gravel rallies so it really is a bad season to be first on the road. That being said: if they do a SS1 on the thursday evening, why not already let that decide the road order for friday, even if its a super special. That would give everyone a reason to push on those too, instead of treating them like an appetizer.

In what sport are the top 3 drivers not able to win due to the regulations. Like he said, imagine being Hyundai spending millions to win races and become champion, in the meanwhile parttime drivers can just pick some gravel races, start last and fight for the win. While the 3 main rivals are driving in positions 6, 8 and 9. It"s ridiculous. Toyota have 2 of the best drivers that they can just put on a gravel race, take points away from Thierry. We want to see the best drivers fight for the win every race. @HassanIbrahimRally57 Před měsícem +6

      I have to disagree here, this has always been a part of the championship and part time drivers winning rallies, example in the 2000s would be Gilles Pannizi, he was really good on tarmac but wasn't good at all on gravel, but since he did part time season, on gravel he would start all the way in the back and end up finishing rallies in the top10. Marcus Gronholm in 2002 started majority of the season 1st on the road, he never complained and always made do with what it is. It's always been like this and the problem in it's self is in WRC. Would WRC should do is have 1 part time car only per team (excluding rookie entries such as Sesks). Also this is amplified due to the calendar being in my opinion overfilled with gravel, next year we will have 9 gravel, 1 snow and 3 1/2 tarmac rounds, because the gravel season lasts from Portugal all the way to Chile, it means if your championship leader you're going to be suffering for 5 months, if a tarmac round could be added before Finland or Latvia (Estonia next year) then this won't be too much of a problem.

      I think his problem is not the cleaning itself, more they give part time drivers (unwilling) the advantage and this obviously looks dumb for the championship as a whole…imagine that’s in F1 as well…so why not switching the part timers ahead in road position?

  • @larszenthio1012
    @larszenthio1012 Před měsícem +4

    Neuville, stop whining about being the first car and "clean the road." It's part of the game, when you're leading the championship, like everyone else has. Just deal with it.

    • @tominatorxx
      @tominatorxx Před měsícem +1

      To be fair, everyone else that led the championship in the past since this rule is in place, complained about it too... But I guess people have already forgotten that... Neuville isn't the first to complain about it, and certainly won't be the last.
      And frankly, I don't really see the problem here. It s*cks to be first on the road in a gravel event (and especially this year we have more of them than in most other seasons), so they can complain about it as much as they want for all I care.

      @@tominatorxx I'm well aware that everyone has complained about it at some point, but have also said that it's the rules of the game and not much to do, since it's the same for everyone. Even some of the other drivers reacted to his complaint.

    Hyundai is an anemic and toxic constellation of accountants, and some great drivers that are stuck in "tactical monetary management". No style at all, no sport at all, no ethics at all, no fun at all. Would not miss them and their F1 BS in the championship for a second. Good to hear Elfyn raising his voice, and Colin and Hollie are great.

    Why not clarify road position by a draw, or a "rock - paper - scissor" tournament the evening before?
    If you lead nd can go last, it will be unfair. If you lead and have to sweep the road it's unfair. So either swap road position each rally (at this day and age, this would nearly be enough to get every body sweeping once) or randomize it.
