Topping Burley Tobacco

Burley Tobacco can be topped before or after it blooms out, this patch is only 10% bloomed out but it's time to top it and it is nearly 6 foot tall which is tall enough, by breaking out the bud it will stop growing tall but will put all the energy to filling out the plant with bigger and thicker leaves. A sucker control is sprayed on it right after topping to keep the suckers from coming out and making cutting a real job!!! This patch will be ready to cut and put on a stick in about 3-4 weeks, the leaves will be bigger, thicker, and have a bright yellow color to them.

What happens to the topped leaves ? Compost ?

Dropped on the ground, within a few weeks they dry up to nothing.
