- This is a response to my other video, for the Boosted Support team.
UPDATE (11/15/16): Boosted believes the cause to be a faulty bearing in the motor and is eager to have me send the board back for inspection. That's the quicker and safer route than waiting for the parts to be sent. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Thanks for uploading this! My board recently just started making this noise as well. Boosted thankfully is sending me a new motor. Hopefully this stops being an issue with the next motor
ChrisCross010 it should! All of my issues were corrected since this video. I use it twice a week, every week, and haven’t had a single problem since this. Good luck, and let us know how your motor replacement goes!
Same thing here. Bad motor. They replaced it without issue.
Ah that sucks, but I'm glad they were able to replace that for you. Top-notch customer service, right there!
I think maybe one of the ball bearings fell out of one of the bearings, this same sound happened to me, and that was the problem.
So i have been having the same problem with my stealth, though after i rode the board in a thunderstorm, the sound seemed to have stopped. If it isnt coming from the wheel or the belt, most likely you have pebbles in your motor which seems to be able to be washed after water is splashed onto it
I'm having the exact same issue. Sounds like it's coming from the motor. I've replaced the drive wheels, belts and bearings and the noise is still getting progressively worse. It all started after a fairly rapid stop where shortly after I lost a belt. Not sure if it's related but the noise started within a few days of that and with a little under 159 miles in the board. Boosted Mini X. Thanks for the vid I'm going to submit a support ticket today and reference your vid for easy explanation.
Best of luck! Their support team is awesome and had me send my board in two years ago. I haven't had a problem with it since :-) I used it twice a week too.
@@MacManPro36 They were great man. I linked this video and said I had the same thing and it wasn't 10 minutes later and I had shipping confirmation on a new motor and an email from support with installation instructions. Awesome service.
Mine is doing the same but I have the v1 sending it tomorrow to boosted HQ
Let me know how it goes! I'll find out more tomorrow, but, I'm guessing I'll have to do the same :-\ Sucks not being able to ride it, doesn't it?
+Spencer Morse yea me too I'll be without it for two weeks :( but lucky I have a some electric small board with motor goes on 10 mph fast it okay but not the same as boosted quality
Can I keep riding my board? I got a noise that's similar but not as bad and I NEED this board to get to work. Is it ok to keep riding until I get a new motor?
I seem to have the same problem. I was cut off by a car, and had to slam on the brakes. One belt snapped. I had a belt kit, and put a new one on, and now I hear this sound. I am in the middle of troubleshooting with Boosted. Hoping I don't have to send it in for repair.
Nels Dielman I am having the same thing happen with my board after only owning it for a week. Giving boosted a call tommorow. Did it cost anything to send it in for them to look at?
Whoops, sorry for the belated reply here! How'd it all go??
UPDATE: The cause was a defective, left-motor. It was not the bearings, and nothing I did to the board (according to their inspection). I will have my board back tomorrow! :-D
Spencer Morse sounds like something boosted will fix
my board is doing the same thing. how long was the turn around time for getting the board back?
Wow, I'm really interested in finding out what the problem is
I'll keep you updated! :-)
And I don't think anything could have gotten in the motors because they are water proof.
They recently got back to me with an RMA number. They think it's a defective bearing in that particular motor. Boosted is being incredibly awesome, as always, and will fix it right up as soon as possible.
it was the motor after all, lol
Hey Spencer, my Boosted Board V2 is making the same noise. I have about 75 miles on mine. I posted a video on my page. Can you check it out? I contacted Boosted today and according to them it's the actual motor that defective. They had me check everything you've mentioned and they determined it was tinge motor. I noticed your other video, I'm assuming all was well when you changed the motor?
Hey! Sorry for the belated reply: Yes, everything has gone very well since they replaced the wheels. I have a bearings kit as well, but I haven't had any bearings-issues. It's been 4-months now, not a single issue to report :-)
Boosted boards are p.o.c
Look up a video on clearing ur bearings
Will (or do you go by Bill?), there are currently no videos online about how to clean Boosted Board 2 motor bearings. They're very different from the first generation, apparently. Due to the current battery issue they face, the company has stopped mailing replacement parts and advised that I send the board in rather than wait. I'd much rather Boosted take a look at the board, ensure that it's safe and have it sent back, then have to wait for them to start shipping parts again. I'm confident that I could clean the bearings, sure, but I'm also confident that Boosted would do a better job and knows what they're doing.
Will, the cause was a defective, left-motor. It was not the bearings, so I'm glad they found the issue. They said it was a copper coil that somehow got loose, and that it happens once in a blue moon.
Spencer Morse mine doing the same... thanks
most likely your bearings. common issue with skateboards. easy fix.
